Non Imm O Retirement Extension - Jomtien
DrJack54 replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This comes up occasionally. Don't understand why folks don't just fill em in on the spot at immigration. At most offices they hand them to you. Basically it's a signature and fill in name. One minute done. At CW the doc check chicks hand em to you straight away. I sign the form while they check the rest of the docs. The forms are also on hand at io desk. -
Exactly.....first kerfuffle was folk complaining that for "country of residence" Thailand was not an option. News flash: who cares. Put passport country. Next was "Address in Thailand" again who cares. As posted earlier...if you have an ongoing address in Thailand put that. If you're a tourist and have booked accommodation put that address. If nothing booked then put anything.

What's that even mean

And that's why I stated it's a flawed system. For folks that don't exit Thailand then no issue. For frequent travellers abroad that live in Thailand it's nonsense. Especially for folk dealing with immigration office that involves travel.

You are out of line. Won't delete above bickering however be aware that in the OP one issue was to season funds to change reason for extension to based on marriage. An option is to apply for 60 day extension "to visit wife" This would enable 400k two month seasoning. That option was correctly pointed out by @BrandonJT above.

Break it down: Step 1....you are obtaining a Non O based on marriage. 400k required in bank on day of application. Also "bank letter". You do not require bank statement. Step 2.....This is when you apply for 12 months extension of the 90 day stamp you obtained when you applied for the Non O. For this you require bank letter + 3 month bank statement showing all transactions for past 3 months. The immigration officer will check that the balance was 400k + for the two months prior to application. You best off to make small deposit on day of application. This updates bb and shows activity. Ask teller to photocopy this last page showing balance and transaction. You apply for the non O with min 15 days remaining on your permission of stay. For the extension you can apply up till expiry of stamp however that's unwise.

CW Retirement Extension Today...

You can apply at immigration office where you have a TM30. You can obtain reentry permit at airport on day of departure. Works a treat. Edit: @Bredbury Blue if you decide to obtain reentry permit at airport ask for advice as for example process is slightly different at eg BKK vs DMK. Very simple and efficient -
Previously I also had lot of trouble with online reporting (CW). At that time I did lot of travel abroad. After doing a TM47 in person along with not exiting Thailand I have had success with online reporting. You could consider reporting via mail. I used that for some time. It's pretty much bullet proof. If you do that with CW make sure you post it 14 days prior to due date. A letter would be waste of time. I got nowhere when discussing in person with io. (twice)

You are referring to those folk with history or visa exempt entries to Thailand. They do not have visas. You stated that you have a DTV. That is a multi entry visa. You will have zero concerns. Note: in your OP you stated...... "(for a 60-day tourist visa)" Understand that it's not a 60 day tourist visa.. Rather it's a 60 day visa exempt entry. Very different things
-
There is no stated limit on number of entries visa exempt. You mention twice a year. Thinking you somehow referring to visa exempt entry via land borders. That previously had a limit of 2 entries per calendar year. That is no longer the case. You mention volunteer visa. What's the plan here? If it's ongoing living in Thailand there may be a better option eg DTV. If you desire a stay of say 9 months you could consider a METV. That would need to be applied for in passport country. If over 50 you have another option.

Good. Just use autofill for next one and will be all good. Hope one day they can fix the need for in person report after exit/reentry from Thailand. For frequent travellers abroad the current system is flawed (badly)

CW Retirement Extension Today...

Indeed. I've been lucky and have been able to obtain appointment in recent years. They run spot on time. Even then I would be lucky to walk out 90 minutes later with stamped pp. -
CW Retirement Extension Today...

It's always been a team process for my annual extensions at CW. First is the io for the initial check. Then she passed the banking docs in particular to male chap seated to the rear. Financials using money in bank option. Finally it all goes to head at rear of (think L33) Then after that the goffa calls your name and you are right to go. So yes 3 officials + goffa + doc check chicks at the start. BTW did you provide a TM30 and TM47 receipt?
