So, please tell us what other options OP has...
Good question. Hopefully Samui immigration will correct stamp. Problem solved.
Not convinced that is a guarantee.
Flights from Samui expensive back to Bangkok.
They mention 3 weeks on Samui then to "other islands"
They can still achieve 150 day stay.
Just involves inconvenience and $$

Why would it be useful for his next Extension February 2025? If the Landlord is doing the TM30 he just don't has to go to Immigration at all.
He will need to attend immigration for his next extension.
Given that previous extensions were done at CW , I simply suggested he ask if he can do a TM47 at same visit.
Some offices now require a TM47 for application for annual extension. OK?

I don't think you have to do the 90 day now as it is independent where you are stay
He does not need to do it just because of change of address.
However if immigration allow him to make a TM47 that would be useful for next extension.
Some offices (eg CW) now requure TM47 for extension application

Ah so just to be clear. The agent will do the TM 30 for me and give paper confirming it.
As my 90 days from BKK is not due until July I do not need to do my 90 day report until it is due in July and I do that in Pattaya?
Is that right or am I confusing myself?
Technically you should do the TM30 as soon as you move to Pattaya.
It's a change of address and unrelated to 90 day report.
Immigration may allow you to make TM47 at same time.
The immigration office will advise.

Yes permanent change of address,
Next annual extension in January/Feb 2025
Then yes do a change of address TM30 at Jomitien.
Suggest you do it in person.

You can do it in person at Jomtien immigration office.
You need to provide TM30 (change of address).
If you have rental agreement that would be useful.
Just to be clear. Is this a permanent address change.
Where will you apply for you next annual extension?

Non Imm O based on marriage from Uk is single entry and only for 60 days on arrival says london embassy web pages and then if it can be extended in Thailand its not clear wether its 30 or another 60 days is only 4 months max???
A non O marriage or retirement provides a stamp of 90 days.
If married you can obtain a 60 extension to visit wife = 5 months ~
It cannot be extended by 30 days.

I don't want renew it to clear the overstay, but I must be here few more weeks to comply with some things to do and after fly out, get the ban and good bye Thailand.
Being evasive doesn't help.
You mention few more weeks
I just renewed my pp (Oz) it took 20 days.
They stated to allow up to 6 weeks.
Back to your question.
Yes you can renew your pp..

CW requirements were far more extensive.
No they are not.
For the subsequent 12 month extension theO OP will require 800k in Thai bank account.
Only delays that requirement.
And requires trip to Loas (Vientiane) to obtain the Non O.
Certainly and option if in home country and can obtain eVisa non o.
Will assist to open bank account.
Or agent for bank account 5k

I recommend you get your first Non-O out of Thailand at an embassy. So much easier. Vientiane was a breeze
Why.
Vientiane require an appointment added fact is that OP asked specific question.
Have a read.

My guess is Samui will change the date, given a TM30 has been filed.
Very tired of you.
She will receive quick reply Monday.
You posted earlier "no reply from OP"
Clearly she is waiting for immigration to open Monday.
I hope Samui correct the mistake with her stamp.
She indicated 3 week stay Samui.
They have options to achieve 150 day stay if Samui immigration refuse to alter stamp.
The TM30 will be a minor concern for her situation.

Brit Tim, Does the 'Non O visa (applied for through the e-visa system)' require medical insurance and can this be used to apply for obtaining a 1 year retirement extension?
Does not require medical ins and yes can apply for 12 month extension

That is an opinion.
What part of the Immigration Act do you fail to understand. Many examples of immigration offices refusing to correct error of stamp from entry to Thai airports.
No so much in Bangkok where you can attend immigration to have error corrected.
Not sure current office for this however previously was counter K at IT mall.
Certainly the stamp can be altered at BKK airport.
For the OP, all this is very inconvenient.
Obviously she will attend Samui immigration Monday.
All the TM30 chit chat is useless.
My guess is Samui will tell her to nick off.
Fall back option is to change plan to achieve 150 days using setv entry.
That's possible without having stamp corrected

Question was, will immigration give a new permission to stay up to passport expiry or do I need to have 6 months prior to expiry?
I'm in Thailand with Non O retirement visa.
And I answered.
You can apply for any extension and it's "until date" will be same as pp expiry date.
Also if you subsequently obtain new pp that permission of stay will not be altered.
Life time ago I believe that it was.
Not now

Yeah, you do remember those days! So many sweet memories, but later 200 >>500, 6 months only and finally - bans.
Is this remotely relevant to OP post.
Also it's 2024

A permission of stay is only given to pp expiry.
Provide more details of your situation for more detailed advice.
Are you currently in Thailand.
What type of extension are you asking about etc

Couple of obvious examples.
A SETV + 30 day extension followed by 60 extension to visit wife ...
Just one example of many.
I would consider a non O marriage (eVisa) from UK and then 60 day extension to visit wife

What's the best type of bank account to leave your money in indefinitely? Fixed Deposit?
You can use either.
In fact I previously had a FD account and savings account with the same bank.

If you enter Thailand with a single entry non O you will be given a 90 day stamp.
In the last 30 days of that permission of stay you would apply for 12 month extension.
On the date you apply for the extension the 800k needs to have been in bank account for 2 months.
Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only

Thanks for the info. I'll probably have to get an agent on the job; expensive, but a lot easier.
The only reason you're in a bad situation is due to rogue 2 month rule from Jomtien immigration.
I posted above same time as your post.
Given you have had ongoing extensions at that office you could ask them.
Re Agent. You could use your own funds and ask agent to step around the 2 month issue if possible.

No need to visit Jomtien to ask as I already posted the non-imm O requirement sheet they hand out. It clearly states 800k had to be in bank for 2 months prior to application of non-imm o
Still think a visit is worthwhile.
The OP has had continuous extensions based on retirement and immigration may overlook the (rogue) 2 month requirement.
As Pattaya City expats point out in this link.
The 2 months is Jomtien specific.
Moving from BKK to Pattaya: seek advice re 90 reporting.
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

And I suggested for his next tm47 probably best to do it in person.
