My local GP did mine recently, took the blood tests and checked my records, charged me £30, signed and stamped the cert.
When I obtained mine (au).
The first quack wanted to do blood tests. I left.
Went to another and had form with me. He signed the form and I asked reception to place clinic stamp on it. Point is many GP,s will do it without even taking your pulse. Just need find sensible one.
Cost zero.

If you put your address on the arrivals form and that is where you stay then you shouldn't get a fine.
So...right now I'm in pattaya. Just came down for weekend. About to head back home (condo) to bkk.
When I get there no need tm30. On next Fri I go Saigon back Monday. No need tm30 when I back my bkk room?

The police station is only for reporting if there is no IO in the province.
That was appropriate many years ago. Can you name a province currently not having imm office. Perhaps some exit. Doubt it.

This may be obvious but you could try to file in person. Bring your lease and explain your situation. In BKK you can file with just your lease. I don’t know the situation in Chiang Mai.
Yes. Or do by mail and fill in form as "possessor". Need copy of lease. Assuming CM accept mail tm30.

How would they see return ticket. Your leaving. Just fly out. Show boarding pass and pp.
As for returning relatively quickly with setv it depends on your history of time spent in los.

Depends what you are doing at jomtien, extend a tourist visa and they defiantly want a TM30, I switched from retire to marriage extension last year and they wanted a TM30.
Previously the same at CW (not always).
Now extensions based on retirement are being hit up for the TM30.
Reading TVF on unrelated matters it seems like guys extensions using based on marriage seem to get more of a hard time. Don't imm like aliens marrying Thai.

I originally planned on going to Vientiane. Even scheduled an appointment via their website. But recently, I'm nervous to go there after reading all the reports of people being rejected without even having a warning stamp, so I don't want to take that chance. Plus, I already have 2 SETV from Vientiane in my passport. So it already doesn't look good to go back there. I didn't think of getting a new passport until I got that warning stamp. But it seems like people are being denied even without it.
I only found out about Savannakhet after doing some research and never been there before, and providing my bank statement on on-ward flight is not a problem for me.
Just the part I'm nervous about, is I already used my 2 land border crossings this year. So if I don't get the Visa there, I won't be able to enter Thailand through the border so that's my big concern.
I now see why your nervous. Think your right in not going to Vientiane. I'm not sure about their "rules" but think I have read max 3.
However a rejection would not surprise.
I guess in your situation a plan B would be needed.
Vietnam is nice...Vientiane has an airport if all else fails. Good luck

Just deposit 800k into a Thai bank account and leave it there. I've done this for nearly 40 years, including this year, with no problem whatsoever.
I have now jumped onto that way of thinking. Stuck 800k+ into fixed deposit a/c. Just leaving it there to avoid any stuff ups re dropping below the required level.

(4) If travel to any province and stay there longer than twenty four hours, an
alien shall notify the police officer of the police station of the locality jurisdiction within forty eight hours from the time of arrival. TM 28 report to police in province not return to residence as I read the Thai law.Is that a joke.... Next time you travel drop into local police station and see how that works for you.

Ditto - 14 years. Annual return trips to UK; trips abroad to ASEAN countries; visits to see son in BKK - many hotels requiring my details; famous last words NEVER required at Jomtien.
YET!

First of all....take Briggsy advise over mine.
I can't see why you could not obtain a setv at Savan.
Your clearly down to entering via borders now. Airports at bkk not an option. If you haven't used your 2 border entries this calendar yr you could always enter VE if your TV was rejected. It won't be.

Actually even in Chiang Watanna it appears most late reporters are not being fined. But no clear criteria has been obvious. If fined it will be a little longer process as have to pay that at the 90 day report area and a two step process.
So my next extension based on retirement late Oct at CW will not incur 800 baht fine. Even though I exit renter los every fortnight. Without file tm30? Yes or No

i just want to make clear i started this thread to ask what are my best options visa wise, i don't need people who know nothing about living in London UK telling me to go back home, although i could make more money if i was back in the UK working i still wouldn't be able to live the life style i live in Thailand i am perfectly happy living in Thailand with the income i have that is not my problem the visa issue is, i just thought maybe there was another avenue i could take that i already haven't looks like there is not so mod please close
You have advice already. Pretty much zero. Also someone who basically does not work at age of 33.
With very little funds...
You should already know option to live in los. Perhaps a gofundme is next step. Visa forum is for sensible advice, which you have above.
Yes mod OP asked for close. Excellent idea.

You don't renew your visa. You obtain 12 month permission of stay based on retirement. You apply for that 30/45 days prior to your current permission of stay until date. 800k 2 months prior to application keep in bank 3 months after extension granted then 400. Back up to 800k before next extension.
As for foreign currency ac. Best check with your imm office. Some may some may not

elite visa is out of the question for me i just aint got that sort of money and even if you break it down to 215 gbp a month its still a joke if you consider that other yearly visas cost 1900 bhat
and unfortunately i left school without a degree and went down the trade route i have qualifications for trades that will be no good for applying for a teaching job,
by the looks of it i will just have to try get another ed visa i have only had one so shouldnt be a problem and look to get married in the future
its quite funny actually you used to hear about thai women marrying a English man for a visa and now its the other way round lol how times have changedSome women (most) look for some level of security both here and back in UK.
Not sure £1200/month cuts it. You will run out of visa options sooner or later.
-
You can obtain setv at various places and enter via border. Without elite visa you don't have options.

Do what I did. Take a break for a day in a hotel a few miles from where you live, make sure you get a receipt to prove you stayed there. Then go to immigration the following day to do a TM30 and you might not get fined.
I didn't.
Is that a serious suggestion. All reports I have read (cw being main threads),. Your suggestion is to avoid 800baht fine by doing that nonsense. You stated you did it with success. Please tell me this was not CW imm..... Surely your wasted time and transport costs would not justify it.

2 hours ago, KhaoYai said:You can laugh all you want DrJack54. I've read so many posts on here and elsewhere that always claim the 'farang' loses - 'you'll never win, you're a farang'. Obviously I'm not only talking about Immigration issues but whenever I've challenged a situation where I knew I was right in Thailand, I've won. I was told for example, that I had 'no chance' in a case where a major Thai hospital group had lied to me in order to get me to pay my ex-wife's bill. People told me that as a 'farang' I would be laughed at or just ignored. Even my lawyer said I would not win because the hospital could afford to pay high end lawyers - I won the case, got a full refund and my expenses.
People say you should just pay the police when you get stopped for some trumped up offence. I have always refused to pay anything when I've done nothing wrong. I've never been locked up nor had my licence taken and I've been stopped many times.
I may not always win, I accept that and its also true that even Thai nationals have far less 'rights' than we do in the West but that's not a good reason to let 'wrongs' go unchallenged.
From what I've seen people like to moan and groan about life in Thailand but very rarely do I see them challenge situations. Thailand is very sensitive on some issues - tourism is probably one of the most sensitive. How do you think the Tourism Authority would view this if what the OP says happened to him is correct? Do you think they'd want stories about genuine tourists with visas being denied entry to be reported in the mainstream media?
I have always believed that when something is blatantly wrong, it should be challenged - its no use just moaning about things. There are ways and means of challenging situations, to stand a chance you have to pick the right way - that's how I won the hospital case.
You are so missing my point. Also using unrelated hospital story. Fact is op was done over and I so agree so unfair. Fact is now is on his way after nightmare experience. You suggest he waste even more time fighting this in court or whatever. Best to move on. Certainly op hard done by. Let it go.

Correct, I've never dealt with CW but as far as I know, registering for online TM30 reporting is national - not dealt with by a particular office.
I'm assuming you have not needed to register for online report for tm30. Yes some have reported success. Many have reported complete frustration. The successful ones I imagine have the full on desk top at home. Some experts advising this browser or that. Most punters would not have a clue how to register. Let alone those that do not use TVF.
Give it a go and report back how easy it was.
Others doing it by mail waiting weeks plus for reply.

I'm confused with this op. Where does date of birth appear on a visa. Perhaps I'm confused by my many visas on arrival to Vietnam. The visa itself obviously includes name and pp #.
The "letter of invitation" has all your details. Including date of birth. The airline checks every detail. Incorrect you not getting on plane.
Back to op...where is date of birth shown on your visa?

How is it nonsense? It works in my area - in fact Korat Immigration did the registration for me. If your area is poor at doing this, take it up with them.
I love it when folk talk about the imm offices in towns. Clearly never dealt with CW. You don't have a chin wag there.

If your friend has obtained a TV at perhaps PP he may have his second one issued and instantly stamped void

2 visa exempt per calendar yr. Border run or visa? You say border run then mention visa 60 day

So OP your plan is FLY back from KL obtain another visa exempt stamp? In hindsight I think a flight up to place like udon thani and bounce border nong kai better. Anyway your flight back to los should be fine however you didn't mention previous history.
As jacko stated your second extension was refused and given 7 days to get out of dodge city.
SORRY. op just re read your op. You intend to obtain a visa. No problem..I read border run in a post and got it wrong. Again!

What are you implying. Sign form yourself? That is called fraud. Surprised mods haven't removed post.
Apart from that, it is very easy to find GP that realizes these conditions are in the main irrelevant and will sign on the spot. In addition the embassy's in some various countries will also require stamp from clinic.
PS nice Google research from one of the posters.
