@DrJack54I didn´t expect anything more than a laugh from you. That´s usually the last resort for the ones that can´t admit they ain´t got their portfolio under control.

Far from it. You do not even report to CW.

Address the OP and spare us useless info from unrelated imm office. Every member on TVF is aware of different imm offices having their particular "rules"

BTW your original comment re tm30 rules is just plain WRONG. Fact your imm does not require it is irrelevant

You bet right. There is one thing, though. That is how good connection you have with your IO, and the Immigration Office you belong to.

As I see it, many people on this forum just complain about the changes instead of rolling with them and deliver a smile. I guess they do not realize how much that smile is really worth, neither do they realize how easy it would be to give it at the same time as they comply with and embrace the rules.

I guess that was the last nail in the coffin that you needed. If not, I can buy a bigger hammer.

Spare me. I am always polite with imm and people in general. As for imm offices in Thailand ....I read many posts re farang having cozy relationships with imm office. That does not apply in CW. Not because the officers have issues etc. Its due to vast number of folk attending that office. This post from op related to CW.

It simply means that that your are not obligated to make a new TM30 if you do not leave the country, and sometimes not even then out of the information I got around a day ago on this forum.

It has also been told to me in person by an Immigration officer at my local Immigration Office.

Read the official rules regarding returning to place of residence within 24hours of return. That applies to domestic as well as international. The fact that MANY imm offices have let it slide is not the point.

I have done 7 extensions of stay based on retirement at CW. NEVER been asked for a tm30 in the past. Apparently now that requirement is required.

I'm betting your local imm officer was not bkk.

Why that works is easy to explain. The address notification you have been doing one time in the past, was the same as a TM30. When you go and stay at a hotel, they only make a temporary (soft) registration of address. When you check out, the registration you made at your original home address (hard copy) is again valid.

You state that with such confidence. That does not match up with stated "rules". What is a "soft" registration?

hotel does a TM 30 every time I stay upcountry

but I never do a TM30 when I get back to BKK

OK. This tm30 stuff is all new at CW. My take on it reading threads is that the tm30 will be needed for your next annual extension but not required for your 90 day report.

Just do a tm30 just prior to your next extension.

Mind you the blood suckers have found new cravy train. Take along 800baht for fine.

  6. Put it another way. Let's say you did a trip outside los and reenter just before mid august when your O-A visa expires. You would be stamped in with permission of stay 12 months. Means your able to remain in los till mid Aug 2020. Then up to 30 days or 45 in some imm offices you apply for your next 12 month permission of stay. After (in this example) you wish to exit and reenter Thailand post your last entry you will need buy a reentry permit. Then every yr you do an extension you need a reentry permit if you wish to exit and reenter los.

Seems to be another case of policy making on the hoof. When they told people to bring in their bank books after 90 days they presumably didn't have any system in place to issue a receipt or record this officially (unless there actually is a note on the computer). It's a bit like last year when the police decided to ban darts claiming a dart board licence was required, and only afterwards finding out that such a licence didn't exist.

I agree. Also note MOST imm office have not required the "show us the money" 3 month post approval. Just rogue imm offices. Follow the new regs and deal with it next extension. The record of your banking will demonstrate you have followed these BS regs

The only way you can try enter is by land. Fly to Laos or Cambodia and try to enter by land. If they refuse entry you walk back. Your family can then join you in the other country. If you try to enter by air and they eefuse entry your send home. Goodluck.

I only reply to this as people read TVF for advice. If entering via border was so simplistic then that would be open entry for anyone banned for overstay etc. Bit similar to posts about change your name get a new passport. Rubbish. OP is done. No legal way of entry.

  9. Re answers to second part of post. You want see expat life and the backpacker (all ages) then district 1. Bui Vien st is the main gig there.

As for visa use online company to obtain "letter of invitation" then attend visa on arrival desk. Or obtain visa in bkk at Vietnamese embassy. The online option is better. As for visa agent pm if you want name of one. I've used a few they provide standard service.

Tip when you exit airport look to the right. Big yellow bus 109.....20k dong ticket to district 1.

Don't know about police check. Others will.

Why do you think you won't receive a reply. It might take 3 weeks but if you enclose a pre-paid EMS envelope, you'll get the receipt eventually.

Sent from my SM-G930F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I did it ONCE several years ago CW. Yes I had the correct address and self stamped return envelope.

Still waiting for reply. My plan to post one this year due to CW playing funny buggars will be posted just after return from Saigon two weeks prior to attending imm. I imagine I will be attending without receipt and will have 800baht on my person to cover the extortion.

Where are you? At CW it is taking more than a month. I applied on May 22 and still waiting...

Most likely you will not get approval. Thai can not organize a sh** fight let alone online registration for things like TM30 or 90 day report. It should be so easy but Thai stuff it up. With current technology we can organize anything from online banking to whatever.

Yet how many posts on TVF about difficulty to register such simple rubbish.

Soon I will send tm30 via POST  prior to my extension CW. I will not receive reply. Is this 1971?

Thailand (which I love) most crazy country in Asia

This stamp doesn't say anything about being blacklisted, so if you don't have any other stamp you are most likely not blacklisted. But since you have been sentenced, in the future any IO might deny you entry based on this, but it doesn't mean that he has to.

I would get a new passport and visa, and then try to enter at a land border, in the worst case you will be turned away.

Don't misconstrue this....its just a question. So your implying that new pp with visa will cut it at border crossing. My understanding is computer notes will show history. If anything a a visa exempt might side through. In any event that gets him ONE entry to visit family.

Very few details from OP about a significant sentence re crime.

A year up in Thailand for offences other than drugs is significant. Thinking bit more to story.

Did you read udonjoe post #3

There were certain agents that for a fee (2-3k baht), would liason with Immi and do a check for blacklisting. Other members might provide current info on that.

If there's a ban, it's not necessary that one has a stamp in a passport, might well be a 10 year or 100 year ban.

Another way to find out (incurs some expenses), is to attempt to cross the land border from a neighboring country, with a new passport and an SETV.

The last part of your post won't work IMO.

As for the ban.,..I don't think it works the same as for example overstay.

OP was given sentence of over 1 yr jail. Think that means go johnny go. Blacklisted.

Surely some members have friends with similar issue can relate an hands on experience so to speak.

  14. Personally, I would avoid the overstay. Some members often say its no big deal ....just pay the fine etc. I get that advice.

However a short overstay here and there can sometimes bite you. For example if you ever wished to obtain an elite visa a few overstays all be short could be issue. The flight price difference would want to be worth it.
