I know of married ext , (seems like hassle)
What hassle. Married guys have it easy.
Have 400k in the bank for 2 months prior to application. After final approval you can use the money. Was a repeat year later.
Walk in the park.
ME marriage requires open borders to exit and re-entry. Not currently possible. Option for the future.

I'd make this a requirement before making the initial payment and moving in. Nothing but trouble later otherwise.
The OP, IMO has posted sweet F.
What's his situation in Thailand. Re extensions etc.
The TM30 requirements have changed.

Also looking at a few agencies, not sure if these are a waste of time/scam... I've contacted them anyway and awaiting response.

Agents can not assist with RC.
BTW don't be surprised if very soon Thai DL are not open for business.
-
OP, use an agent to open Bank Account.
As for your RC you need apply at MTT.
For Bangkok applications RC they will require you to have previously obtained a 90 day report. That is first thing that they ask you for your RC.
-
What do you need TM30 for?
You did not indicate that your here on extensions (marriage) etc. Only mentioned wife.
If your just staying at hotel for a break then going back to your home, you do not need a TM30.
That changed year + ago

Read my message .. you Stab away with your irrelevances
You don't think it's relevant that the 40/400k insurance is needed for some entries and not for visa exempt?
These are your words below. Clearly wrong.
Basically the requirements to get in Thailand are same for a retirement visa/ extension or any other visa or even a tourist or no visa

It's correct as far as the covid insurance. Covid test /vaccine documents and quarantining. Fact
The 40/400k baht Thai insurance is not required for visa exempt entry.
Post facts rather than guess work.
The OP had correct answers already.
Your stabs in the dark are incorrect and not required.

I have a retirement extension and multi entry but I was under the impression that is not sufficient to get me back when with jabs and negative tests. Can anyone clarify?
There are MANY MANY threads outlining requirements. You have to obtain COE along with insurance etc . You have the option covered with your reentry permit.
Read up on all other requirements

Pattaya mayor recently announced no mass vaccinations until October. Big difference!

ok once again
where is the vaccine when will thais be vaccinated ... they need it NOW
It's not only Thailand. You would not expect country such as Australia to have stuffed up roll out.
They got top marks for extreme lockdown very (shocking) protocols for quarantine and now shocking score for vax rollout.

Think this coming week numbers will be very interesting due to Songkran. Not just due to movement but due to testing.
This is only one small observation. So last year I left BKK and stay on popular island for 8 months. When that wave occured (was it April May?) the island was closed after the peak. No testing was done.
So now we are back on same island since before April.
So to the point....all the staff here from cleaners etc have been back to mainland for covid test late last week. They get their results Monday or Tuesday.

But before you book your flight, re-check your original post, many errors and lots of assumptions which are actually your opinions and not necessarily the opinions of others. .

You can now fly to Nz and then fly to Thailand thus avoiding the need for permission to leave from the government - a bit of a pain but that is now doable at least
You cannot do this unless your trying to get out of Oz long term.

It is the easiest part of the application
Thanks. That was also my impression however I read very recently on tv where a fella had a horrible time obtaining permission even though he was married to Thai etc.
When was your experience.

If the worse happens & I cannot afford compulsory Health insurance (UK pensioner) could I settle long-term in Spain after Brexit?
Wonder what the insurance requirements are in Vietnam.
Spain and Thailand I assume similar cost of living?

OP, how difficult was it to obtain permission from Oz gov to exit Australia?
-
Your non o will give you a 90 day entry.
If you need to exit and reenter you can buy a reentry permit either from immigration or at airport prior to departure. 1000baht for single reentry.
The form you fill out is a TM8.
You can download. Requires a photo attached

Chaengwatthana because this is some weird edge case.
BritTim, apart from valid points you made, can you clarify.......I was under the impression that the 60 day 'covid extensions' are still obtained at MTT for folk that usually deal with CW.
I realize that the OP deals with Nonthaburi and will/should obtain extension there.

How can you type this stuff. Give ONE piece of creditable evidence. If it's a hunch or guess fine, take it to pub forum for a chit chat.

Visa Options and process ?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Yes it can as Tonray already pointed out.
The reason I mentioned money in bank is that it's bullet proof.
Many threads almost daily where some immigration offices are picky in regards to income method. Also wishing to see the money is from a "pension".
I don't have a pension. I have sources of income. That can be an issue
