That is fine and understood.
Following on from that, what is a foreigner supposed to do when the owner refuses to provide the documentation that immigration requires? Should the possessor (person leasing a property) then report the owner to the police if the immigration officials insist on having the required documentation such as I.D. card, papers showing ownership of the property, etc.?Personally I would do it myself by mail as possessor. You have a lease?

He should be advised however, that whilst obtaining a marriage "O" visa is no problem, he won't be able to get a retirement visa in Sydney or Brisbane. He will have to obtain it from the Thai Embassy in Canberra. I don't know about other state capitals but I guess they are all the same.
Pretty sure O-A can be obtained in Sydney and of course Canberra
The application to Canberra can be done by mail.

Do you need to file a tm30 if you are on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry?
In reality unless you have some reason to go to immigration the answer is no. A reason to visit imm could be that you wish to extend your visa or visa exempt. In that case I would be making sure my "last" hotel booking had filed a tm30 or do one yourself.

I didn’t say you would find such specific reports. I said immigration make home visits and could catch someone out that hasn’t filed a TM.30. And that home visits are increasing. It was a simple comment in response to your claim that you only need to file if dealing with immigration.
In reality it is necessary to ensure a TM.30 is filed if you want something from immigration, OR to avoid a fine when dealing with immigration, OR to avoid a fine due to a random home visit.
And I said you only need file a tm30 prior to dealing with imm. eg doing an extension or report or needing a certificate of residence etc.
I specifically excluded people having extensions based on marriage as imm tend to play funny buggers with those folk. So I stick with my comment. The chance of the boogy man doing a random visit to your condo to check on tm30 is Buckley's to none.

Many on TV seem to be getting all worked up about TM30s and CW setting up a TM30 counter. I am not one who's convinced that we are required to report to IM after every stay away from our residence like a convict having to report in to his probation officer, whether it's a 1 nt stay with a friend or in a hotel, or a weekend trip to Pattaya or even an out-of-country trip. I have been here 3 years and have traveled numerous times in-country as well as internationally and only had to do one 90-day report in those 3 years. I have never been fined or questioned about my residence by IM and I live in BK. I have never notified my Leasing company of my travels and they have never asked me to either. Maybe things are changing, but I am not going to worry about a possible 800b fine that may never happen. Best wishes to all...
That's all very true. I have never done one 90 day report or a tm30 at CW in 7 yrs living bkk.
Fact is now this seems to be requirement for CW. Also being fined 800baht at CW for not having up to date TM30.
Even to extent of condo being "raided" according to above nonsense from some posts.
Personally I intend to do tm30 by mail just prior to my visit to cw for next extension. Let's hope this over zealous stuff ends soon. Most likely not now that Thai have found another way to milk farang.

I did go looking for reports regarding imm visiting condos looking for folk on extensions based on retirement. To check for filing TM30. I cannot find ONE. That does not surprise me.

I've been coming to Thailand every three weeks for two weeks on visa exempt for five years. Take a lot of what the forum experts say with a grain of salt.
I got advised to get a visa by a female OI last November, Ignored her advice. BUT I do put wifeys address on the TM whatever and that usually gets an OK from the Male IO's...most from Isaan I guess.
Pretty obvious from my visa pages I'm not working in Thailand. Not sure if this helps the Op.
How old are you.....might make a difference to enter the Kingdom?
So what's that mean.."every 3 weeks for two weeks ...for 5 years"?
So, example, you enter los Jan 1 you stay to Jan 14. You leave for 3 weeks. Reenter approx Feb 7 ....wash and repeat.
So 2 week in 3 out?.
For 5 years.

There have been several. The point is that it's not only when dealing with an immigration office that you can get caught and fined.
Home visits happen for retirees too, although not as often.
Please direct me to one. Specifically someone living in a random condo. Thai imm might target somewhere like Trendy building soi 13 as an example. Many sub let rooms etc there with farang owners. Some using airbnb. So yes imm might make a raid to collect money.
You state home visits. Yes home visits are common for extensions based on marriage.
So....if someone is on extension living in random condo they can risk a visit from imm?

Unless they visit your home/condo looking to catch people out, which happens!
I have read ONE report of that. That was sukhumvit. Can you direct me an imm visit to more obscure locations. Excluding people on marriage extensions.

You only need to file tm30 if you need attend immigration. Such as an extension. Next week I fly Phitsanulok. Few nights. Then drive many locations after that.
How many tm30 do people need report. Just do one before you need visit imm office. The rules are rubbish.

Who knows what Thai will require regarding health insurance. Its not even a requirement right now. Its a lottery. For someone considering O-A....asap good idea
-
OP that's exactly what I was planning. Only issue is possibility on compulsory health insurance in the future. Meaning added cost. If insurance does not eventuate I will obtain O-A every 2 yrs.

Your current "anniversary date" will not change.

Up to 30 days before. 45 at some imm offices

DFphuket. Thanks for your helpful detailed post....
Should it be that hard. I mean for every I computer savy member there are a zillion not at that level. Why would not Thai imm make a very simple registration process to include tm30, 90 day report, etc etc.
Let's face it won't happen.
Compliance needs to be made easy.

Yes, I believe that you have the correct details for page 1, you're reporting yourself so your name/details go in both spots. If your landlord were reporting you they would fill in the top-most section, with your details in the second section of page 1.
I don't think you have to circle possessor or owner, and either seems acceptable.
Fill in page 2 as well, the Name of Aline in Residence (you and your details).
I've seen this list elsewhere:
Bangkok Immigration allow you to file the TM30 report by mail (old fashioned postal service), these are the needed documents:
1. Chanote copy (I owner)
2. Yellow Book copy
3. Passport copy
4. Departure card copy
5. TM30 filled
6. Return envelope with address and 10 THB stamps attached
Address is:
90 DAYS REGISTRATION, TM30
IMMIGRATION DIVISION 1
Chalermprakiat Government Complex
120 MOO 3, CHAENGWATTANA ROAD,SOI 7,
LAKSI, BANGKOK. 10210
In another thread a report of doing this. Except your points 1&2 were not included. However included lease.
I think the OP mentioned elsewhere does not have lease so I guess your points 1&2 required. Only post this to assist people with and without lease.

What documents do you need to include with TM.30 registration, (I am an owner, "Possessor".) I have copies of Title Deed, but no blue book.
1) Passport copy, visa page and entry stamp copy
2) rental contract copy [N/A]
3) optional housebook/id card copies from owner
4) tm6 copy
As I have lived here and owned it for 15 years, am I likely to be fined, and if I am applying by mail, how do I pay?
Firstly possessor for the tm30 does not mean owner. I rent my condo room. I have a lease. I can file the tm30 myself as the " possessor".
I will be including photocopy of my identity page, my tm6, last entry stamp, non-o stamp or last extension. Also my lease. I have never done one so best to follow advice from someone who has. However reports on TVF have indicated success. I'm doing it this way as getting to and dealing with CW is a pain. I'm also considering to ignore the whole thing and just pay 800baht every time I need to visit with CW zoo. Which thankfully is once a year.

.....a few questions specifically for CW.....what exactly do they want in regards to the TM30 when applying for other services (extension for retirement)?
*just need to have done a tm-30 for current residence sometime in the past?
*does tm-30 on file need to be dated after latest arrival?
*is CW demanding updated tm-30 after travel within thailand if returning to same residence?
i'll be returning next month, girlfriend's landlady will register me online. i'll have a couple months before extension and will be in/out of bangkok many times. landlady can't be expected to update tm-30 twice a week for two months. landlady also likes to travel, may not be available the week of my renewal.....
**suppose i could drag the girlfriend to immigration with me, along with copy of the rental contract, and a letter from her stating i live with.....***
I'm in similar boat. In fact fly out and back los every 2 weeks. Added to that travel within los. My plan is to do a tm30 for my last return to residence prior to my next extension (Nov). If I follow the rules I would most likely need to do something like 15+ tm30.
CW is a zoo so I'm hoping to do tm30 by mail as possessor.

Thanks, ezzra - I guess this has got to be within 24 hrs?
Do you have any idea if the rental agreement alone is an option for providing the housemaster, house registration and ID card?
You can do report as "possessor". You can do this via mail at some imm offices. CW accept tm30 via mail.

I'd still recommend to do the same as I did - go with the latest TM30 receipt for the place you primarily reside and hand it over if asked. If you don't have any, be prepared to be fined.
EDIT: I wouldn't say the second largest city of Thailand to be "the sticks" but to each their ownYou living here extensions?
Not my business but you sound very naive. Many folk here live in very various accommodation. Perhaps your hotel provides you with tm30 receipt. Many do not. But again CM has zip to do with CW.
Did not read op?!

EDIT: also the title of the post didn't have any specifics, just regarding TM30Tip for future posts. The title often means sweet ...
If you actually read the OP you would notice the reference to CW imm office. That's most often good hint.

As everyone would be well aware.. Every imm location is VERY specific. In the past CW did not require anything to do with TM30. It seems now they do. With penalty.
There are many many people a bit "caught out" with this dealing with CW BANGKOK. Don't really need input from the sticks.

Keep in mind you would only need to be concerned with tm30 (IMO) is if you had business at immigration. Such as applying for extension to your tourist visa, visa exempt etc.
