    They were being ripped off anyway! Usually 2 x 200 baht = 400 baht and yet this story makes the ASEAN headlines!

    Where is Quảng Ninh? Never heard of it and I'm sure there's is no airport or train nearby. As Vietnamese are banned from gambling, it would be for tourists and expats. It doesn't make business sense to me, so maybe it's a method to clean dirty money!

    A good start would be the ability to reissue TRC / Work Permit if lost, damaged or stolen. Because Vietnam require a complete new application in these situations. Currently taking about 3 months to get the above, not 36 days (unless they mean business days!)

    For the reasons to return to Thailand, is it possible to just list ALL the reasons why you wouldn't want to stay in UK? Stabbings, scams, climate, poor service quality, expensive, racist etc 😁

    It happened to me last year with booking.com too. I live in Chiang Mai and went to Pattaya for a week of 'sightseeing ' only to find the hotel existed but was shut. I got a refund after a couple of weeks but the property was still available to book on booking.com for weeks after the event. Whilst we were there, at the shut hotel, another couple came to check in too! They used Agoda.

    I used to waste so much time on Facebook but now find most wasted time is reading (and laughing or cringing) at these 'stories'

    There's no announcement of a Retirement Visa just Golden,Investor and Talent. The $ amounts will probably be set at a ridiculous threshold for the Golden Visa and people rich enough will probably choose a non-Asian country to reside anyway! Investor visas exist today in VN but the minimum amount has been progressively increasing to around $1m USD currently! Too risky in my view (if I even had the money). Talent visa meh!

    People still travel to BKK for non-emergencies eg teeth, tits; as it is cheaper with more experienced doctors

    It's simple to do online yourself. $25 USD for 90 days tourist visa (check country list though but most 'common' countries are eligible). Takes 3-5 days to process. The only official website has been posted above already.

    I heard yesterday that it's not a search and rescue anymore. It's now a cleanup which is a very different technique and likely to result in no more survivors being found. I'm still baffled by how a building 1200kms from the epicentre can fall 🤔 Chiang Mai had some water overflow swimming pools and that's all.
