  1. But Thailand have submarines !! Or haven't they finished building them yet :)
  2. Unprofessional move IMHO. Should freeze contracts with this company. Initiate an investigation and report. Give the company an opportunity to respond immediately and again after the investigation. Take appropriate action. So, now who is to blame? The company will fight back and may even claim compo for unfair action especially if they can prove they weren't negligent. What if Thai people didn't follow instructions/regulations? Who in their right mind would take on the completion of these contracts? Assuming that Thailand doesn't have the necessary resources and equipment!
  3. B@st@rds who pray on emotionally distraught families !
  4. You'll also need a medical certificate (original and a photocopy) and best to do the eLearning prior to your appointment.
  5. Finally, as per the rest of the world does !!
  6. Chalk vs Cheese CM is quiet, hippy like, cheaper than Patts but still not as cheap pre-Covid, smokey season imminent for 3 months (Feb-Apr), gyms are OK, can bicycle around easily enough, great Thai food, friendlier than Patts for sure.
  7. Thai beer is terrible anyway, full of chemicals, hangovers galore and the taste isn't great. Sure, you get used to it but as soon as you go overseas and drink beer then you realise just how bad it really is. Same with those cheap spirits that they use marked "V" meaning vodka, "W" meaning whiskey etc that bars use to refill empty bottles of well known brands!
  8. And it's nowhere near Da Nang ! It's way past Tam Ky and almost in Quang Ngai. 21 hour walk or 2 hours by car from Da Nang. Middle of nowhere useful.
  9. I recently spent 2 weeks running around every K Bank in Chiang Mai with a valid Certificate of Residence, new driving licences, existing BBL debit card & passbook (8 years) and a month apartment lease but on a visa waiver in my new Passport. No K Bank was interested once they saw the visa waiver stamp and told me to come back when I had a retirement visa. I said I need the bank account open to deposit the required funds and their reply was to get my retirement visa through BBL and then jump ship! So the staff have been instructed to only open accounts on long term visas, they are not accepting ED visas I now read too. Check my previous posts for more details. I updated my passport details at CM Gate branch and they asked about my visa waiver and I said it was just a quick visit to line things up for a retirement visa application....they bought it. Oh, and I tried two SCB and I didn't even get past the security guard at those, he asked to see my visa when I said I wanted to open a new bank account.
  10. 50 years too late ! But better to start now than never.
  11. Hardly any of the Visa agents in CM reply to messages via email or LINE....I contacted all of them and only two replied from eight messages. Check out Colonial Visa Agent opposite CM Immigration, pricey but spot on, and no BS.
  12. Why do I airways "go to coffee" with the 3.41% woman ? Just when will my luck change 🤞🏻?
  13. I'm no doctor but I have suffered compressed vertebrae with tingling at first and then numb fingers. My issue is upper back. The best treatment that cures me for a year or two is being stretched out on a bench with weights trying to pull my head off (via a pulley / gravity) . I have this treatment for 20 minutes for 10-14 days and I'm fixed for a year or two. Ask your doctor or ChatGPT if it's viable for you too. Good luck.
  14. He's probably got a different prostitute (oh no that's illegal in Thailand) I mean a woman friend lined up every night !
  15. I think I just saw him buying a Banh Mi in Da Nang
  16. It's all about longterm visas at the moment. I tried for the past two weeks (12 different branches) of K Bank and SCB. I have a Certificate of Residence, Thai Driving Licences, TM30 and showed by BBL account (8 years) and said I wanted to leave BBL to join your bank. Each one was progressing until they saw my 60 day visa stamp. Mai Dai
  17. Wise have introduced their own set of problems now with transfers to Thailand (BBL) taking 3.5 days last week using funds already cleared and available in my Wise account. I contacted them and they said that 5 working days is standard for transfers into Thailand now!
  18. Attracting quality tourists that don't spend money in Thailand I see. Chasing the UK on the downhill section of living standards!
  19. I'm proud to be Platinum
  20. Does this apply to the Karaoke Bars too ??🦵🫴
  21. Yesterday tourism figures were down Overnight the airports must have been so busy to make tourism rosey again! The Thai interest rate cut should help weaken the Thb a little.
  22. We all live in a yellow... The irony is that this sub will be primarily used to protect Thailand from China!
