I'm going to enjoy reiterating that if I ever have to go into the "Apple" shop in Udon Thani with my wife.
She went in more than a year ago with her iPad which had stopped working. The staff there claimed they were an official Apple shop.
The iPad was 'old' (three years old) 'broken' and couldn't be repaired, She would have to buy a new model.
Didn't buy one.
Went home and described the symptoms on an Apple forum. They told me sometimes the iPad would get stuck while upgrading. Left it 24 hours, and it starting working.
Shysters in the shop in Udon.

True. No one would ever want to see my wife naked.
When out on my travels here in Chiang Mai I have seen young western women, mainly tourists that their attire leaves hardly anything to the imaginative. Not that I`m complaining being a full hot blooded male, but it does make one perceive these women in uncomplimentary ways, never know whether to say; hello or how much? I have seen the ways Thai by-standers look at them and probably thinking on the same lines as me.
I can understand how the 3BB guy`s ways of thinking towards these women and why he has little respect for them.
Not a good way to be thinking

The family claimed they did this because they feared that the son would be in worse trouble as he had just been to a party.
And they were worried that insurance would not pay up if they said that he was the driver so his dad owned up instead.
can they get away with this in thailand.

The eternal families of Thailand's/Asia's public lives.
Scratch the surface of almost any Thai/Asian politician and you find what I call a 'son of' or a 'daughter of'. Scratch the surface of the Thai military's generals and you find a 'son of'. Scratch the surface of Thai/Asian big business and you find a 'son of' or a 'daughter of'. Scratch the surface of a leader in a Thai/Asian bureaucracy and you find a 'son of' or a 'daughter of'.
The American notion of "All men were created equal..." is truly a Western concept, not an Eastern one. Yes, inevitably someone will come along and state that Western societies do the same, but it isn't to the same extent or prevalence.
What more to say?

When I was a Boy Scout (UK - late 1960's) we all carried 6"+ sheath knives and various pocket knives.
In the UK now - only a folding knife with 3" blade is permitted.
6 inch never allowed

This hotel is currently closed and being renovated. Obviously the contractors are just dumping everything.
Not really the hotels fault but they should choose their contractors better.

i think you'll find the hotel at fault unless there are 2 people ___ 1--you, empty hotel. 2--ok. - now contracts are a diff thing

Handout to explain to staff, in a much earlier senior position in Thailand i was well ware that 99% of the company staff had never had anything explained to them.
I started a process to get them informed. I instructed the admin. manager to write a quick handout (numbered and dated) in Thai and English to be given to every staff member after every meeting or whatever. She fought me / refused on the basis it was not necessary and a waste of time. I sacked her (there were other reasons).
I recruited a new admin. mngr telling her in the first interview that I wanted a quick handout to staff.... She agreed and said 'what a good idea'. She got the job and was fabulous at quickly producing these handouts.
I ten started a fun quiz process, about 2 or 3 days a week 'who can share the details about... from your staff bulletin yesterday, dn the first answer, if correct, got free lunch.
It worked, the staff loved it and quickly I got direct comments from staff telling they now understand why the company makes certain decisions / i'm now able to give customer much better information and it impresses our customers...
Yes a bit of work but well worth it.

There would be an outrage among Thais if they started charging 5 baht for a bag , so they don't dare to do it. Thais don't care much about the environment as long as they get their daily feed.
