I wish they did the same for the Thai people.. Than it is justified because everybody has to follow the laws.. But now it are only the foreigners are being checked.. How many Thais are driving drunk, with no helmets or drivers licenses or under influence of drugs or smoke e cigarettes.. It surely seems that the Thais are superior and can do as they please, while others have to follow the laws.. More Catholic than than the pope?
Then firearms. And molesting. underage relatives and so on and so on and so on. But. who pays? There has to be money involved to be of interest.

Looking for some advice please. We own a bungalow in a secure development in Thailand and last week somebody entered the site and has stolen the mains electric cable to our property. They disconnected it at the meter attached to a lamp post on the roadside outside my property and I’m guessing they got underneath the house and cut the cable where it runs up to the fusebox inside the house. The person who owns the development is trying to say that we have to pay for the cost of replacing the cable which I won’t be as I claimed that we pay a service charge which includes security of the development, which to be honest is almost non existent. Five properties on the same development were targeted, all of which were unoccupied at the time. If the owner of the site won’t budge I’ll just withhold next years service charge, that should cover the cost of a replacement cable, surely it can’t be that expensive? Anyone experienced anything like this? Cheers.
Yes 8 minutes was taken from the box to the house three detectors investigated the investigation is ongoing one year now then nothing has turned up of course

Looking at the video, while you cannot see the point of impact, it appears that the car just drifted off the road to the left and collided with Oat, killing him. Did the driver fall asleep? And then the vehicle veers off to the other (wrong) side of the road. At the very least, the driver should be charged with negligent driving causing death. It might not have been intentional.
It appears the foreigner was a 60-year old German and he fled from his home following the accident.
Police went to his home the next morning to investigate and breath-tested the driver then but by then it showed no alcohol....which is hardly unexpected as it was the next day.
No, depending on amount consumed but from what I know can most likely detect alcohol the next day...

Just my luck, I returned back from the DLT and the GF looks at my newly minted motorbike and auto licenses and tells me they the wrong room number 347 instead of 547 of the condo we stay at on the back of the license. Is this something I need to go back and correct it or something I shouldn't worry about.
That is a good question and here is my take on it first of all nobody cares let me explain the government makes the license right but despite this you still have to go to immigration for a residency certificate to do anything you can show your license to people but they don't care the address on the back it's pointless and ridiculous

let me give you little history lesson on background and family since you such a proud Australian.
Despite basic false history you were taught that Australia began with political refugees, it did not.
Australia began with peasant soldiers who were brought over to colonize the land. To keep peasants happy, hookers were also brough over.
So your true beginnings is a peasant father and an army hooker mother.
Proud Australian? lol.. your funny,,, give your lesson to those interested..

Is it not standard that one needs to keep a certain distance behind when following a car or motorcycle ahead so that one can stop in time to avoid a collision.
Nevertheless, an increasing number of aggressive foreign visitors in Thailand are having an impact and changing the culture in Thailand.
The way Thais will perceive foreigners is only going to get worse as the govt tries to increase the number of foreigners visiting Thailand to 150 million.
useless driving education does not help.. then you see nong lackbrain braking 2 meters in front of a fully laden cement truck and wondering why he got run over...

I question a lot of what they ask for, lol. But you know, i just smile and say ok. I've given up trying to understand the 'why'.
A lot of the time they don't know either.. it just comes out .... the irrelevant questions... perhaps its the thought process paths not coming up with anything logical so it just chooses a random irregularity... this happens in any topic..
indeed an interesting topic for the Dr's ..

Not only check the backgrounds, but also check their motor vehicles, living accommodation, business licenses, visas, language school attendance records, sources of funds, and of course their known Thai associates, telephone calls, etc.. Focus on the Russians, especially the ones that have a Police Officer's phone number in their contacts phone book!
Check all people living in villas and big condos.

I was in the situation a while ago, wanting to start a new, free personal Gmail account without getting into anything complicated like domain names. I know about the process to create them but I found a easier way to do this. I found a way how to buy gmail accounts for such needs. In this was I had a professional online presence, I've secured my account and also avoided a lot of spam. It's a simple process that doesn't require setting up any domain names or anything beyond a basic account setup.

Surely you got it all wrong. They spend it on all worthwhile causes like hospitals and roads and taking care of the needy. None. of the money goes into pockets of anybody who does not need it.
