Another Brit. Why am I not surprised.
At least he had the sense to leave Thailand after he blew all his money, unlike others.
Won’t see him begging on the sidewalk for awhile.
5th floor? or higher?

Sooooooo, a newbie tourist to Thailand allows an unknown person to remain in the room while he went to sleep, and is surprised that the valuable items he left lying around were gone when he woke up!
He'd have been better off renting an hotel room with a safe.
Seems some people are too dumb to be allowed out of the house without a minder
In the military if someone did that they would be charged with the crime of providing temptation.
Even with a safe, I seen a condo renter after returning from a night out with a new friend, put his valuables ON top of the safe and they got lifted.. so its not like he forgot there was a safe... you can lead a horse to water...

You can use AnonymSMS whenever you need authentification codes. This service allows you to rent a private U.S. number for a day or more. It's a simple solution because you don't need a US mobile phone plan and possess a US-based SIM card.

Sorry for reviving this thread.
In such cases, the best course of action would be to consult with a healthcare provider who can give you personal advice after an assessment. It's important not to self-diagnose, especially when symptoms persist for an extended period. -

I find it deplorable that a headline writer and editor would make fun of the man's injuries by using a play on words in the headline and lede sentence of this article. It's really really in bad taste. That kind of headline should not be on an article about someone's suffering.
It's disgusting. I expect this kind of rubbish in the comments section from classless on this site, but not from a news source.
normal unprofetional journalists here...

If you are a visitor and not a regular at the bar scene, how would you know a girl is underage?
So you pop into a bar for a drink, have a few, then expected to know if a girl (first of all, is a girl, then is under or over 18 years old [if that is the age].
I was in Manilla staying at this hotel and 2 young Americans were having a great time, then I didn't see them for about a week, then They came in one morning and quickly left.
Seems they met some girls at the local Mac cafe.
2 am in the morning so said non-uniform, gun toting undercover police took them out of the hotel and kept them for ransom because the girls from the Mac cafe were underage.
They had to withdraw money from their ATM for the police then off to the airport.
Boy were they scared.
all in the plan and normal operations...

There are some pretty harsh people on this forum, it seems like when someone falls on hard times most jump on the bandwagon of harsh criticism and accusations of poor planning and things like that. The reality is that people do fall on hard times, there's a dozen different reasons why somebody could run out of money, and it sucks.
So perhaps a little bit of sympathy is appropriate?
The other comical aspect of this post is the name of the organization that investigated. The Rapid Response Centre for Accelerating Public Welfare Management of SDHS. Quite a fancy name for an organization that likely does very little to help the people.
if on salary and there are no tea money for efforts = why do more than one has to? its "human" nature..

Trust the Thais to have forgotten (when convenient) - or couldn't care less about - a written agreement/protocol with another friendly country.
Says it all about how Thais in general deal with the law and with international relations and with interpersonal relations: Smile brightly, wai & fingers crossed. A nation with a great future.
Its not a complicated topic.... My handyman needs constant reminders.. likes to ignore things... unless there is a daily reward (on top of salary) it is ignored... the same as my kids when they were 3 years old...

If possible take all papers and proof and walk to Immi and get paper copy of TM30.
I always do this.
2nd reason I do this;
I have noticed with paper copy on my passport they don't care if I've been in many different addresses
which were reported, or not reported, to Immi when I go to get 30 day extensions.
Thailand is 3rd world country in net anything...
one time when IO was proven wrong (loss of face) supply started yelling in pin pin .... so yeah went and pined it out and he didn't even look at the pinded copy..
like a 5 year tantrum

Does anyone know of a condo or apartment building in Pattaya that does not have the door staff or security?
My place has someone in the office all day facing the lobby and also security right at the door all night. They eyeball everyone coming or going. I used to work in an institutional setting so that's probably why it bothers me.
I'm thinking of getting a townhouse or house, but wanted to know if there were any condo's around like what I'm looking for.
In the Usa I had one with a seperate enterance for residents, so that would work as well.
I bring the LB' s up the stairs the lobby cant see then get the lift....

Eventually someone is going to write, "Does that mean farang's pension income too."
Short answer would probably be "No," at least for those countries with bilateral tax agreements with Thailand. If you're paying income tax in your home countries, then Thailand has no claim to tax the income twice. We all know they do whatever they want, stating things here to reassure yourself does nothing.... your cash is wanted and any reason will do thanks..

Came back to Thailand for Christmas, absolute nutjob IO picks me out of the line because I was checking my phone off to the side and says to follow him. He asks for my boarding passes from prior flights to make sure it's not "fake" (they were not) but then comes back after 30 minutes and has a young girl hand me a form agreeing to be denied entry for lack of funds despite never even asking me for proof of funds (I have lots of money).
The same IO was screaming at several Asian tourists who were trying to take a photo to "stop being Chinese!!!!" (they were not Chinese).
I hadn't been in Phuket for over a decade, and now I remember why I never transfer here. What an absolute third world shet hole, might be my last trip to Thailand. I guess that's what they want, anyways?
And before trolls come, no I didn't have drugs, no I'm not lying about anything, and no I didn't do back to back border runs. I was in Thailand for several months early in the year, followed all rules and laws, that's it....
yes, there seems to be a collection of nutters we come accross.... we all see them if you take note. heres a couple of many : 1/ Airport entry, he scans my passport and AHA he points out its expired!!! what a catch indeed...
(he should be the cop boss..) but after some time it was pointed out he was looking at the issue date.... 2/ Immi ... another expired date scam.. but he was looking at the to be scan dates of the old TM30 system.. so to save face he ranted to my thai partner giving her a grilling .. of which she is to educated and smart to lower herself in ... so yelling at me Pin, pin, pin (= Printout) I went and printed out the page he should have been looking at... goodness, where do they train these geniuses? academy ricebuffalo? or is it simply a mass usage of yaxxxxba?

I'm in the cannabis business, and I can see why people might be skeptical about the industry and its effects on the economy; it's not researched enough. New shops are opening and closing because they lack the tools to effectively keep the business running.
