    Hi,

Im in the process of looking at some condos to buy. I started doing some research online on what would be required to purchase and found out i need a foreign exchange transaction form (FET) showing that the funds were coming in from abroad to buy the condo.

However in my case the funds will not be coming from abroad as the money came from within Thailand. So how is it possible to get the fet form from the bank if i already have the money in thailand which didnt come from overseas.

So i visited a condo to take a look at the rooms they were selling and i started asking the sales agent about foreign exchange transaction form.  Sales agent had no idea what i was talking about even when i pulled up google showing her what it was so couldnt get an answer on how that would be completed.

Same situation in a well known shopping mall started asking the people within the mall about the fet form and she had no idea what it was and was looking down on me as if i was asking a strange question. As she just kept repeating no you just buy the condo despite me showing her multiple times that i need this form.

Contacted a well known thailand condo developer company to ask them but they have been ignoring my question.

Went into my Thailand bank account branch to ask my bank how i could get the form from them and the person in bank had never heard of such a form despite me showing them again what it was on google.

So between banks and real estate companies its proving very difficult to get an answer on this. I dont want to leave a deposit or any money down incase i find out later that i need this form.

Does anyone have any insight into this it would be much appreciated. My money is not coming from overseas to buy the condo the money is the money came from within Thailand would that make it more difficult?

    Thanks

Tit most of the agents and condo sellers I just backpackers trying to get some commission they don't want to know anything that I want to do anything they just want to sell the fastest possible totally unprofessional.. the form is an interesting subject they opted years ago had to be over 50k USD get the form anyhow since then there are various banks that will allow you to send out to million with without it just have to find the right manager in the right day and the right bank typical Thailand good luck let us know how you go and by the way add up other money in coming methods to go pay with the bank and get your best price there are other tricks to which I won't go into here.. have fun I did

You definitely need an FET, very odd that you have found agent and bank that know nothing about it.

To obtain an FET, you will probably need to send the money out of Thailand then back in. Some banks can help with this process as they send it to an outside Thailand office of their bank for minimal fees and exchange. Also some developers can sometimes produce an FET when you buy from them, without the funds coming from outside Thailand.

You can use any money you have brought into Thailand to produce the FET, if you have  previously brought in money to buy a car, funds for visa etc.

    Notice under 50K USD

  2. I understand where you're coming from, and I agree that vaping can be a significant issue, especially for kids and teenagers. They're vulnerable, and it's concerning how easily they can get vapes online. However, in my experience, vaping has been a helpful tool in quitting smoking. While it's not perfect and comes with risks, it's been a better alternative to regular cigarettes for me. I purchased my vapes from https://sudjudza.com/ and appreciate having this option. It's crucial to use vaping responsibly and ensure it doesn't encourage young people to start smoking.

a good topic,,,  most users dont think of offsite data..  and nobody in this country seems to know or want to know about that as they just want to sell a set...  most savvy theifs, even from just watching movies are highly likely to throw your NVR in the pool on the way out..

It seems that problems with the quality of electrical work here are quite common.  I've certainly encountered problems before and have a new issue now.  So am looking for some advice on how to proceed.

Last week, despite all my efforts to avoid it, the wife had family over to stay for a couple of nights.  They certainly enjoyed their visit and using the air conditioning in their bedroom, running it at full power and at the lowest temperature possible.  They also enjoyed using the shower in the guest bedroom.

The problem it gave me though was that the circuit breaker for the lights kept tripping while they were doing it.

Subsequent checking revealed that the pump for the water tank (Mitsubishi 205watt) seems to be have been connected up to the lighting circuit.  I don't know if it is connected to the circuit in the consumer unit or if it has just been cut in to a handy wire in the roof space.  The pump was installed 4 years ago and we've had no known problem since then.  The pump has it's own 20amp circuit breaker whilst the lighting circuit has a 10amp breaker in a separate box near the pump.

The checking also revealed that the air conditioning in the bedroom is also connected to the lighting circuit.  This is an about 14000BTU Hitachi Inverter model and was moved to the bedroom last year when we had a new unit fitted in the main living room.  This work was done by the installers who fitted the new unit.  They were provided by a well known electrical store that is common in centrally located malls and I thought they would be properly qualified to do the work.  As with the pump, I have no idea what has happened up in the roof space as I don't want to go up there.

So, yesterday we got the air conditioning installer boss back for a look see.  Unfortunately this did not go well due to my wife telling him "You do wrong. You do wrong" very loudly, almost before he got out of the car.  He just checked that the air conditioning worked and said "No Problem".  When I turned the pump and some lights on to show him the problem his advice was, quite logically in a way, "Not use same time then no problem".  I tried, via the wife translating, to tell him I wanted the air conditioning off the lighting circuit and connected to something else.

He agreed to come back and change things if we paid for it.  But, he says, I have to tell him exactly what I want him to do.  The problem is that I don't know exactly what to tell him to do and I don't want to make thins worse than they already are.

We will look for another "electrician" as I have lost confidence in this one.  But I would like to know what to tell them to do, and that is where I would appreciate advice.

We have two breakers for air conditioning in the consumer unit, both rated at 35 amps.  One has got a 12000BTU unit on it and the other a 21000BTU.  Is it safe to get the 14000BTU unit connected to the same breaker as the 12000BTU unit?  If not, what does need to happen?

Also, what about the pump?  Does it need to be connected to something other than the lighting circuit, given it doesn't draw that much power?

Thanks in advance for any help.

its normal to wire the easiest way with no safety regards,

Without going into the referred article, the law in Thailand forbid the sale\use of cannabis by anyone under 20 - same as alcohol and cigarettes. Still, many underage kids drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes, (and also other illegal drugs). Are you suggesting that re-leasting cannabis as a drug will stop those youngsters from using it? If so - you have to outlaw alcohol and smokes as well.

they don't have to do anything at all that doesn't further their narratives...

Yeah, that's worth getting into an altercation and risking the other guy having a weapon on him or having friends nearby gang up on you.

Any indication of day/night usage split - To size your battery pack?

Peak load - To size your inverter?

Do you actually want to be off-grid or maintain a PEA supply for backup?

    Finger in the air: -

    40-50 x 340W panels @ 2,500-3000 Baht each - say 150,000 Baht (that's 100m2 of panels!!)

30kWh battery pack - say 4kUSD (as a kit from China) so about 150,000 Baht

    10kW hybrid inverter (2 x 5kW) - 90k Baht the pair.

So, a ballpark 400k Baht for the kit, add 50-100% if you use a contractor to install.

50-100% if you use a contractor to install. Is a bit greedy, isn't it?

I am looking for the best source of water to be delieverd.

Have been getting the 12 baht water in the white plastic bottles but I am told it is just tap with chlorine. It tastes horrible.

I have recently seen a truck in Rawai Chalong called SPA Reverse Osmosis water. 32 Baht, it this is the best quality?

Does anyone have any more input on other water companies in the Rawai area. if so can you list telephone numbers?

    Thank you

An interesting topic indeed. Water is the essence of our bodies and our planet.

Okay, I add what I've seen. My neighbor into many things, and he spent a lot, a lot of money getting the formula for his super drink, cure cancer, do this, that blah, blah, blah. However, his. Dr. And others. Analysts says that no water on the island are any good except for Nestle... But he ended up importing in his water from Bangkok.

For myself. I have gone health nut. due to some conditions anyway. water is very important. I used to get the blue bottles. 30 bart compared to white bottles. 15 bart. White bottle I have seen sand in it and green fungi. Next girlfriend used to jug that. They filled it up from the tap. I don't know.

The point is water is very important for your body. Why skimp on it? So I have taken to mineral water myself not. water. Mineral water. Now I have just found a company for the large blue bottles as I don't like the. 7 eleven drinking bottles anyway. What is good what tastes good who knows? Good luck all don't skip on your body or your health. SP, a yeah, I had him for years. Tried most.

I have a degree and work experience in hydrology and grew up working in a family-run business that installed water mains and hooked up homes to municipal supplies.

In my home country, the US, we generally drink the tap water.

The frequency and thoroughness of water contaminant testing for municipal supply there depends on the amount supplied. This is mandated by law. A large, metropolitan supply system will be tested daily for a wide number or contaminants, whereas a smaller municipal or county system will be tested less frequently for a smaller number of contaminants.

Here in Phuket, it is obvious that you can't drink tap water, so any discussion of the testing the municipal is moot. Where I live in Phuket Town the water is often too brown to use even to wash clothes...

In Kathu, where the largest of the island's two reservoirs is located, they use the basin for Loy Kratong floating and seem to make almost no effort to protect the catchment area from contamination. They have even pulled dead bodies out of it. Of course it is treated after the fact, but chlorine can't kill everything and has no effect whatsoever on a wide range of inorganic contaminants, most of them man-made.

I suspect the quality of water at the new Bang Neaw Dum reservoir in Tambon Srisoonthorn could be of a drinkable standard with proper treatment, but the problem is in the supply system -- and the provincial waterworks authority simply doesn't think along these lines.

Even the water produced from the desal plant in Karon at great cost (monthly electricity costs in the millions of baht at the outset) is simply mixed in with the low-quality tin mine water.

I don't know why they don't make it available to consumers as the point of production at a low cost. It could be the one saving grace of a project that is a complete failure in every other respect.

As far as the commercially available drinking water goes, I generally choose buy the big 10-liter jugs and use it for most purposes.

Never underestimate your own abilities to detect impurities in water: the human nose can sniff out less 1 part per million of hydrocarbons (a carcinogen) in water, and many other contaminants as well. If it doesn't taste right, don't drink it.

As for RO water, it is not really what we were designed to drink -- nor do I think it tastes very good, regardless of previous posts have written. 'Purity' (ie just H2O molecules) is not all it is cracked up to be when it comes to drinking water. Try a sip of pH neutral distilled water. It tastes wrong, because it is wrong.

The best tasting water will be slightly acidic, containing a variety of minerals.

Although it is not scientifically based, my recommendation would be to limit as much as possible ingesting any water from municipal supply (eg. don't even brush your teeth with it) and using a standard brand of commercially-available water (eg. Nestle's, Minere, etc) that you enjoy the taste of, if you can afford it.

    Better yet, just drink beer!

    :)

    I

Thank you for your considerable efforts.

Some hotels won't let you check in with just Thai driver license now, 'policy is for passport'

What exactly is required of them in order to report T.M. 30? the passport number on driving license might not be current is understandable

for hotels that is this strict about reporting I doubt pink ID card would be acceptable too, it's not like they can put you down as a Thai person checking in

Don't you have a passport to show
