There is more details to discuss when bringing up wills for discussion. But to keep it short, I recommend you go to your local court house. I went to Pattaya provincial court and there on level 2 is the help office. I have visited there and discussed all details about probate application. I did my own will. For my situation probate was quoted at 30k by a lawyer there whereas Magna carta wanted 130k. So a lawyer situated at the court will most likely help you out at a reasonable rate. Probably helps if you go with someone who speaks Thai and English well.

my lawyers said... ohhhh just put it on paper and witness.. make yourself and register it... easy..  lol

1/ does not matter if expensive lawfirm or not, when your gone you cant come to correct soemthing...

2/ does paying more = better?

who knows what happens after you go.....   better to give them beforehand and make sure all is well.....

A shocking incident unfolded in Pattaya as a young taxi driver brought chaos to the streets by threatening tourists with a firearm.

A man had parked his taxi haphazardly on Pattaya Soi 15, close to Walking Street, and started verbally abusing Russian tourists. He even displayed his gun, trying to scare them. However, instead of achieving his desired result, one of the tourists fought back, which ended up causing injuries to the taxi driver.

In response, authorities swiftly arrived at the scene. Pol. Lt. Col. Chaowalit Suwannamani, the Deputy Superintendent of the Pattaya City Police Station, took immediate action by ordering an investigation into the incident and dispatching emergency medical personnel to provide assistance to the injured tourist.

The incident drew a concerned crowd of onlookers and the injured tourist was identified as Mr. Artem Kitaichik, a 27-year-old Russian national. Having sustained leg injuries from gunshots, he was in need of immediate medical assistance and hospitalization.

At the same time, the taxi driver fled from the scene and is now the primary target of an extensive manhunt led by law enforcement authorities.

This unfortunate incident has tarnished the reputation of Pattaya, a cherished tourist destination. The police are committed to their efforts to locate the suspect and ensure that justice is promptly served.

  5. Even if I could afford to fly business class, I'm always on the hunt for the best prices. For me, it's less about saving the cash and more about the thrill of getting a good deal.

One trick I always use is checking for alternate days and nearby airports when searching. It's surprising how much difference a day or a slightly further airport can make in the price.

Last month, I snagged a flight from New York to London for just $1500! My agent, Martin Belford from TBC, found it. He might be useful for someone looking.

As long as you have come to terms with dying alone, (worse, almost dying alone - and then dying BECAUSE you were alone) that is fine.

    Some people worry about that.

yes another good point....  dying oneself... so what...  but loved ones mourniong, missing and your affairs left behind to sort out... not nice... if you love them clean up your <deleted>

Makes me think about wills here in TH .. after you have gone you cant come back to fix things up if its not correct.... a dilema... I guess best is complete POA to someone...

  7. In Thailand and other asian countries the dynamics are different.  A book cold be written on this but here are the headlines.

1/ If you let them live in then your options for other girls are limited (Providing you have a decent place to entertain like swim in the nude helps.  Not a <deleted>ty smelly apartment.)

2/ If you dont have a live in then its a lot of work cleaning a place thats larger, and to clean up ready for a new guest its a lot of work with the hairs they find..  A larger place can be good as you state many friends stay over and other people, but that does not explain your bedroom/bed/ensuite with different hairs in it.

3/ Do you really want a life partner?  Or want to try?  many spend years married or with such an idea to just loose decades off their lifespan.. fine if you have a great time but usually its a struggle with goals together (and a Thais family needs)

4/ Having lady friends seems to be the best balance of the manly doggy needs and light relationships. Find out what day they have off before asking their names...

Not that its my thing but I see the "pay for them to leave"  is the easiest...  and some of the pay up front types can be similar to regular girls here (as opposed to the hardcore pros in the west) so there is another road...

All women are a pain in the but, admit it...  they want the well off nice sweet guy that they get bored with shaggin every day (month) and wonder what it would be like with Naughty Nik ...  actually I read recently that women lust for another shag  quicker than men do.. wow, go figure...  but of course a womens priority is financial latch on..

it is such a huge topic.. probebly just under "why are we here"

I've used Kasikorn for the past 15 years and never had a problem. It cost 150 baht last time and takes only a few minutes of you have priority (a Wisdom card)

The old saying I have never had a problem is obsolete.  Best to invest in a full year statements... keep the earlier 6 months hidden untill asked is an idea, shows up  Humty dumpty

into that he has his silly go...  Humty admits they are told to find problems, lucky they are so clever...

Do the rules not say full 800k  for 3 months after the extension, then 50% for 5 months, then back to 800k TWO months before extension date?

If you emptied the account there would be a short period when there was no money there. Why not open a new account with 400k after 3 months, and top that back up to 800 with what was left in Bkk Bank 2 months before.

not 50%!!!   simple: never below 400k...

True enough, no argument here. The ultimate test of financial health for the expat is the ability to repatriate, and inflation, especially with housing costs, can really throw a monkey wrench into even the best laid plans.

On the other hand...the risks of property ownership are soaring. Sea level rise, sargassum and plankton blooms, hurricanes, flooding, drought, ground water depletion, forest fires, unavailability of insurance, rising property taxes, and potential degradation of neighborhoods due to homelessness and influxes of climate refugees (both internal and cross-border) seem to be making home ownership less attractive. The value of maintaining your mobility options seems to be growing.

With global debt levels hitting new all-time highs and the era of free money coming to an end, there is also a growing risk that real estate valuations will correct in the future as well.

So it's not as cut and dried as it might appear at first glance.

No I feel theres nothing worth living for....

    Is this the twilight zone?

No mention in the entire article that we've barely had any rain this monsoon season?

How do you publish an article in the latter half of September calling September the wettest month when we've only had a few serious rain days the entire month.

A realistic article would note that the raining season has yet to really kick off at all this year. Yes we had patches of days here and there but the majority of it has been blistering hot summer days.

It's the weirdest monsoon I can remember. Hopefully there is a lot more rain to come before the end of October so we can get some in storage before all the hotels and tourists drain it all again in a few months.

A few years in a row like this and Phuket will be in crisis (again).

simple, the weather here is minimally change compared to other parts of the world..... which is changing....

a few years ago it came out that it was illegal to charge more than the goverment..  yes I know, all the theives still do it..

worse than that, we had 5 years of using from an apartment block (at double) as did the street and the PEA came around many times, blah blah blah for 2 hours = nothing, obvious what was going on until we met the right person, then the whole street had PEA meters withing 2 weeks or so...
