What if a petrol or LPG/CNG vehicle explodes on a packed ferry full of passengers? Statistically more likely.

I had 3 calls from lazada over a returned washing machine, as soon as I asked then in Thai if they spoke English, they hung up. If a company publishes a number for a Call Center (1267 for MG) then you need to use it. My experience with emails is they rarely get answered by Thai companies.

PV Lifespan is 25-35 years typically. In the UK I have had lots of similar capacity ICE cars, but they never came close to the performance and refinement of an EV, and for downright fun, the EV's win hands down. There is a trend of replacing large capacity engines with smaller capacity, lighter twin/electric turbo charged engines which give a far better drive as you're not wrestling with a heavy lump of metal under the bonnet that doesn't want to go round that corner.

I used to worry about taking a long trip until I did one. I was amazed on Highway 1 every large service area I saw had CS's. I tested one for 12 minutes (1 of my 2 times using a CS) and was impressed. In didn't need to charge but I thought I might as well as I wanted a coffee. After that I made a point of slowing down and looking at service areas, they rarely have an EV sign, but they mostly seem to have at least a 2 port CS.

Generally, local guys don't need to charge locally, I never have. It costs me 4.5 baht/unit approx to fill my car if not using solar, for the MG4 it's about 180 baht to go from 25% to 100% for a 50kwHr battery. I don't think I've ever dropped below 25%. Per month maybe 4 times that.

As of 22nd May 2023 there were more than 4,628 CS's in Thailand Much more than ADEQUATE, more like ABUNDANCE Probably nearer 6,000 than 5,000 now.

I've been driving EV's for 2 years now, I've used 2 CS's for about 30 minutes in total. I haven't been filling up with petrol every week so I've saved about 104*3 = 312 minutes I have had a nett saving of 282 minutes, almost 5 hours I haven't had to hang around refueling a car.

Let me answer with a word, and the word is ADEQUATE

Don't forget, you need a lot less EV Charging Stations than Petrol Stations. Most EV owners will hardly (if ever) use one. I have used 2 in the last 2 years. You need them on major road networks. In towns, not so much.

In Thailand? Now that is funny!

The button on your meter will switch the reading between import & export. That meter records both figures separately (try reading it yourself, IMP & EXP are displayed in very small letters), If you are only being charged 10-20 baht extra then I don't think they are charging you for your export (their import). There maybe a setting that totals the readings you don't want to leave that displayed. I think your extra 2 KwHr's per day are parasitic loads from your inverter and possibly other devices. An AVR will cause that and more.

The MG4 has the same alloy wheels as the MG ES, they are really ugly. At least the MG4 comes with tacky wheel covers which look a little better than the alloys underneath (I never thought I would ever think that). I'm not in favour of after market alloy wheels, but I'd make an exception with the MG ES. I prefer the front grille on the EP over the ES, probably because I am old. Likewise I prefer a polished walnut dashboard and door cappings, all gone the way of progress.
