  1. I test drove one, it wasn’t the fast one, and I found it underwhelming. I think the fast one would be a lot of fun.
  2. I had that issue in a Mercedes sports car when I drove with suntan lotion on my hands. I’m sure it’s some kind of hand lotion that causes it.
  3. It was away about a week each time, I didn’t ask about a replacement vehicle so I didn’t get one. I sold it at it’s 2nd birthday for several reasons, warranty expiring, first service due, 4 new tyres needed (150k baht) and lastly insurance due (120k baht). I would have taken out an extended warranty if I kept it, but I was offered 90% of what I paid as there was still a 12-18 month waiting list. The waiting list dried up a few months later.
  4. Terrorism is the calculated use of violence or threat of violence to create fear and intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political or ideological goals. It typically involves acts intended to coerce, intimidate, or instill a state of terror within a civilian population or specific groups. Sounds familiar?
  5. I have a solution for Pedophilia. Wean them off children with adult dwarves.
  6. I’m not sure about build quality. My Taycan had to be trailered to Bangkok twice for air con failures. They trailered it back at their expense. My Mercedes was trailered to Chiang Mai when the infotainment system needed replacing. I had to collect it from Chiang Mai, they wouldn’t trailer it back. We have a Mercedes dealer in Chiang Rai now but still no BMW dealer. I was unhappy with Porsche service, they knew there was a problem with air con pressure sensors in Cayenne’s and Taycan’s. They should have replaced all 3 when the first failed, they did replace the remaining 2 when the second failed. The BYD Seal Performance is 90% of a dual motor Taycan at 20% of the price and the build quality is on a par.
  7. One example is Jacob’s Creek Sauvignon Blanc. It used to be 599 in BigC and 7/11 It’s now 445 baht in both of those places.
  8. It didn’t stop me ordering a new one in Chiang Rai.
  9. Shame on anyone ordering a Tesla Musk ordered shutdown of Starlink satellite service as Ukraine retook territory from Russia https://www.reuters.com/investigations/musk-ordered-shutdown-starlink-satellite-service-ukraine-retook-territory-russia-2025-07-25/
  10. Prices have dropped substantially.
  11. Porsche had a problem with the Cayman, it was too good so they had to cripple its performance.
  12. British Beef is best, come with a bonus, mad cow disease.
  13. The YU7 battery is not significantly smaller than the current Taycan and larger than the previous Taycan. I am worried about Xiaomi’s use of aluminum wiring, I’ve had lots of problems with speaker wiring being aluminum. That said, I may well order one if we get them here. I think the best EV today is probably the Lucid Air although I like the Yang Wang U7 as the best mass produced EV sports car.
  14. All 3 are unreliable. BMW in particular are being pilloried by mechanics because of their use of plastics in the engine and over complicating the engineering. For example, the alternator bracket that bolts onto the engine also has oil ways in it, so the oil enters the bracket and exits back to another part of the engine. I had a new Porsche Taycan here and only kept it 2 years. It was trailered back to the official importer twice for air conditioning failures. I drive a BYD Seal Performance now, it's been 100% reliable so far. I like big comfortable cars and I'm waiting to see what we get from China next, as, bizarrely, Chinese quality is far higher than German.
  15. @sungod My point is, you can't believe anything we are told. Why would Cambodia refuse to talk about the contested areas yet propose independent adjudication? On the face of it, a very reasonable approach. Who planted the mines? We don't know. Who fired first? We don't know. All I do know is it may suit Thailand and Cambodia to have this dispute.
  16. Back that up with a link from Cambodia
  17. It doesn't tell you anything. You're jumping to conclusions.
  18. If agreement could be reached, there wouldn't be any fighting. If agreement could be reached, Cambodia wouldn't suggest an end-run to another party.
  19. Yet you appear to do so all the time with your defense of their indefensible actions. Sounds like a holocaust to me when the population appear to be going the same way.
  20. You can't believe anything you read unless it's parroted by both sides. The Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) requires agreement on both sides, agreement can't be reached. So what do countries do in any dispute where you can't reach agreement? They either go to independent arbitration (International Court of Justice, ICJ), or they fight. Both sides have motives for fighting, the only de-escalation I am seeing is Cambodia offering mediation by the ICJ. If the JBC was fit for purpose there wouldn't be any disputes after the first meeting. We don't know who started this, we don't know who planted the mines, don't believe anything you read.
  21. Don’t believe everything you read. Al Jazeera has this to say “Thailand’s military said Cambodian troops opened fire first with heavy weapons, while Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence said its troops acted in self-defence after coming under attack.” What is important to remember is that Cambodia offered to let the International Court adjudicate. Thailand refused. Why did Thailand refuse? It seems a very reasonable solution to me.
  22. I consider Thailand the bad guy in this. Cambodia offered to let the International Court adjudicate and Thailand refused.
  23. Call me a cynic, all secretly arranged with Thaksin who will gallop in as the hero and fix it.
  24. You have slowly allowed her to become the alpha and relegated yourself to the position of her bitch. I have a friend here in Chiang Rai just the same. Scared <deleted>less of his wife, it’s complete nonsense and self inflicted. Assume your role in life as master of the house and do it PDQ.
