The Car Of The Year 2023 is an MG. You can't generalise about China or MG. I think MG made some mistakes here when they launched, I hope they have learned from the experience. I don't know whether their ICE cars have improved, but they make superb BEV's. China has have a certain reputation, it's shared with American Auto Manufacturers, unfairly in my opinion. My MG4 is the first car I have ever bought that hasn't had to have something fixed under warranty (touch wood). I also have their BEV hypercar on order for delivery next year, first one in Chiang Rai comes to me. 0-100kmhr in under 3 seconds.

Actually you are wrong. The stats published are fires per 100k sales of vehicles Where do you get average age comparison of EV vs ICE and how did you make the leap from sales to older vehicles? I'm unaware of any stats for that. Same goes for EV's drive half the distance of ICE cars, that's not my experience, I specifically bought my MG4 because I was doing more than my previous mileage. What's the source of your stats? I'm calling BS.

Actually not correct. The fires are measured per 1,000 cars of similar type, so volume of EV's sold is irrelevant.

Yes it has happened, depending on the statistics you read, it has happened between 10 and 100 times more often with ICE cars, sometimes much more catastrophic with an explosion, gasoline has a far higher energy density than Lithium Batteries.

Using both plugs on one charger would split the charger's maximum capable output in half on each plug, but it would prevent another car from taking half the current and slow down the charging process. Incidentally, there is a German car with an AC charging port on each side, only one side is DC and you can only use one side at a time.

In case anyone is interested in the performance comparison of the MG4 vs BYD ATTO 3 Extended Range. I had the opportunity to pit my MG4 (X) against the ATTO today on the way back to Chiang Rai from Chiang Mai. Side by side from about 30km/hr upwards (didn't test below) the MG4 steadily pulled away up to considerably past the legal limit. Both cars only one occupant.

I have the same car in that Blue with a bodykit, I love the car, it’s a lot of fun for the money and cheap enough that you don’t worry about where you park it or damage from enjoying a spirited drive.

You might think handling would be worse, actually it’s not. the Porsche Taycan is almost as fast around the Nurburgring as the 911 GT3RS, the Tesla Model S is also stunningly quick. mostly down to a very low center of gravity. As for the performance advantages of an EV, it doesn’t even need stating

Range for me is irrelevant, as long as it’s above my desired break interval which is about 300km. What is important to me is performance, handling, NVH, design and recharge speed. Above all performance and handling, every drive should be a pleasure.

Even a rudimentary internet search will give you articles from many governmental organisations stating Cannabis is addictive. There have been studies, eg. the 2002 study done by the Us Dept of Health & Human Serv's. Here's an article from the USA's CDC Addiction | Health Effects | Marijuana | CDC Addiction (Marijuana or Cannabis Use Disorder) Some people who use marijuana will develop marijuana use disorder, meaning that they are unable to stop using marijuana even though it’s causing health and social problems in their lives. One study estimated that approximately 3 in 10 people who use marijuana have marijuana use disorder.1 Another study estimated that people who use cannabis have about a 10% likelihood of becoming addicted.2 The risk of developing marijuana use disorder is greater in people who start using marijuana during youth or adolescence and who use marijuana more frequently.3 The following are signs of marijuana use disorder 4: Using more marijuana than intended Trying but failing to quit using marijuana Spending a lot of time using marijuana Craving marijuana Using marijuana even though it causes problems at home, school, or work Continuing to use marijuana despite social or relationship problems. Giving up important activities with friends and family in favor of using marijuana. Using marijuana in high-risk situations, such as while driving a car. Continuing to use marijuana despite physical or psychological problems. Needing to use more marijuana to get the same high. Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when stopping marijuana use. You don't want fan-cooled grid-tied inverters if you can avoid it, fans always wear out, especially Chinese fans, if you do then keep spares. Likewise, larger inverters mounted in the shade are the best way to go, micro-inverters under a hot solar panel are not a good idea. My convection cooled inverters are guaranteed 10 years, I know of 8 installed in this province, no issues at all.
