if TH doesn't want me spending my foreign currency in the country,
Problem is Thailand has too much foreign currency and it is reflected in the strength of Baht. And you're right, they don't want any more foreign currency from people who live in Thailand.

So my question is.... Is it possible for an officer of any sort to add me to a ban list? The only info available to him was my Facebook name, not my passport details etc. Is it possible to see if I am on a list and how would I do it? Contact the Thai Embassy here in Australia? Apply for a 90 day visa? Contact an office or law firm in Thailand?
Are your comments critical of royal family? If so, yes they can do that. Oterwsie, fear not.

800k for 5 months, and 400k for the rest of the year?
Only for sexpats to put a break on their illegal activites without paying tributes.

but isn't this part illegal: "We provide the 800,000 baht (required bank balance)"
Who said it is illegal? Only self appointed lawyers in this forum who would violate 100 laws at their conveneine but afraid to suggest it is not illegal unless a court says so.

It can be extreme sometimes. There was a Belgian guy sitting everyday in the bar of his Thai wife, speaking to fellow Belgian customers. He got in trouble, he was told he was a kind of his wife's bar public relation, and was entertaining customers, and therefore needed a w.p..
What about all those farangs bar manager pimping girls to other sexpats? Do they also need WP?

Nowhere it says OP is not doing in his country. I assume OP is very savvy and knows what he is doing. He may be doing it in the UK, I guess

Police take loss passport report seriously. They will ask you questions and you have to tell lies after lies to make the storey straight. Not a good suggestion. That would be making a false statement to the police when you do a report of its loss and about the same at your embassy.
Also some countries will make a problem it you actually do lose a passport in short period of time.

And how do you renew your driving license ? Sell or buy a car and stuff like that ? I'm tired of this paperwork, so tired.
If you're elite, you can spend money to buy sell car using an agent (I have done that). I see ads for agents doing license also. Of course if you're living on somtam and 40 baht pork soup after buying your elite, you're out of luck.

I think it is still better than getting an extension. 1 you don't tie up your money here and 2 the visa is good for two years.

Exactly.
And the 5 years will fly by before you know it.
So, back to no visa, having blown 500k + 5 years living expenses.
So, elite visa + 5 years expenses??
id say minimum 5million baht?
maybe a lot more depending on lifestyle
If it were me, id have to work part of the 5 years back home to finance such a scenario.
Then of course you're blowing more time and money on airfares..
Which kinda scotches the whole idea of 5 years easy visa right there!
I think TE is desgined for people who travel frequently to Thailand for short visits. It is a hassle free entry with some benefits. Many countries give these type of visa for a visa fee of around $200. LIke 10-year US visa. These type of people don't care about air fare. However, people living on somtam and $40 baht street vendors pork soup and rice, it means lots.

So, I get employed. Get Visa and Work permit. Then take an indefinite leave. Pay for Social Security (no taxes because no income). and then after a few years, get free Hospital in Thailand. I wonder why some comanies did not think about that and offer this as a service.

If you do not report to CM Immigration within 24 hours to submit a TM30 when returning, you will face a hefty fine.
What is the hefty fine? 2K BHT of $75USD? Or $6/USD or 20 cents/day.

The entire post is second hand information. I even don't believe first information of confused farangs harassing IOs with useless papers and asking meaningless questions as evidenced by their posts in this forum.

I also simply can't believe farangs are so stupid to inundate IOs with with useless documents and expect them to by their concocted documents.Am totally bemused with this ongoing situation
Surely but surely you bring the bank statement from (insert your thai bank) showing last 12 months or whatever showing incoming funds and alongside (insert your foreign bank) your statement showing the corresponding outgoing transfers....how simple does it need to be
I simply dont believe that Thai immigration are that stupid

Keeping it simple your way seems to be very complicated. Get the income affidavit from the Kiwi embassy and job done.
I think he does not have 65K/month income. So he has to do combo method. He can keep 500K in bank and use the embassy letter for monthly income. Not sure why he wants to let it expire and come on a tourist visa and start the process. It does not help at all.

I never cared about TM28 or TM30 unlike scared farangs who are afraid to pay a meager fine of less than $100 if and when needed. This news does not have any effects on me.

I read Phuket immigration has volunteers. Pattya or Bangkok has agents. Not sure what OP is looking for.

For a start there are more than 'a few' countries which offer free health care - pretty well every European country does, as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
There are no free health care. Somebody is still paying for it unless you're a poor person unable to earn a decent western income (then you pay tax) even after wining the lottery of being born in a Western country.

For retirement you have to lock up 400k and elite is only 500 k. You can get out and in once a year to avoid TM30 nonsense. Of course after 5 year, you don't have any thing. Tough decision.

Immigration will be electronically confirming banking details in the near future or calling the bank to confirm the account numbers and balances.
How do you know that? 99% agents don't counterfeit any documents. All documents are valid.

How about sleeping in a tent or a hammock? I'll just start doing that to avoid tm30.
So, you will subject yourself the inconveniences of living in a hammock, instead of paying the fine? Why? are you a homeless person that you cant pay the fine? I won't do TM30 but I will pay the fine if needed.

If this a compromise for O-A visa insurance, glad they did it.
I have adequate insurance in the form of a HSA (Health savings account). Most Americans will know what is an HSA. It must be backed by a catastrophic insurance. Money put into an HSA account is tax free.

I did and paid 600 to an agent to transfer the ownership. No messing with stupid residency certificate. Thailand is great because everything can be solved by spending money. When i bought a bike recently i needed a copy of the deposit i paid for the bike, not the full sale receipt.
No one is going to buy a car/bike without being sure they will get a res cert afterwards.
