  1. I am returning in October. I have been following the situation closely. I know what to expect.
  2. I’ve been to DR once and Colombia twice. Bored. I haven’t been back to LOS in 2 years. Time to return in October.
  3. The data from Israel needs to be put in context. 87% of the vaccinated that are infected and hospiitalized are over 60. This doesn’t account for all the vaccinated and infected that DO NOT need to be hospitalized. That is why it is recommended that seniors and immuno-compromised will need boosters.
  4. I am group 1 so I must be i.ln the minority. I take anything the media says with a grain of salt. They like to sensationalize with clicks. I am following all the Sandbox groups on Facebook to keep up to date with all the news so I know what to expect. A majority of the tourists from the groups were extremely happy. Of course, the tourists that are unhappy might not have done any research and expected things to be the way they were prepandemic.
  5. Phuket project was a success. When vaccinated tourists are not bringing in Covid19, any money they spend is a bonus. It is the UK’s fault for creating the huge hurdle when they get back home from a holiday.
  6. They do “give away” up to 20%. The amount in each vial is not precise. They also add a little extra to account for human error. The person filling the syringe can’t pull an exact dosage. They rather pull a little extra rather than not enough. If you fill exactly 10 doses, they will likey only be able to get 9 doses. In the US, they were initially tossing away any more than the “recommended” doses from each vial before they were given the OK to use them. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.businessinsider.com/cuomo-says-moderna-vaccine-vials-hold-extra-doses-2020-12%3Famp
  7. That is exactly what some countries are already doing. Get vaccinated or be stuck out in the cold. In the mall, the security guards will likely enforce it on entry. In a restaurant, the owner will likely choose between enforcing it and be allowed 100% capacity or not enforcing it and only being allowed 25-50% capacity. There will probably be spot checks to ensure compliance with fines and forced closure for x days for non compliance. This is nothing new. Other countries are doing it as the new normal.
  8. How about mentioning that this is the worse case scenario and is unlikely to happen? Reopening does not mean to go back to the days before the pandemic. It does not mean draconian lockdowns. It means living with the virus. It will likely involve negative covid tests before arrival, vaccine passports, masks, social distancing, temperature checks, vaccinating the vulnerable and continually vaccinating the whole population.
  9. It hasn’t even finished clinical trials yet! Currently, they are at phase 2. It sounds more like pending clinical trial data.
  10. I wouldn’t be surprised if they was the most vaccinated ASEAN country by the end of the year.
  11. My question. Have you tried going on holiday somewhere else let alone live somewhere else? The grass is not always greener on the other side! When I get bored of my holidays to Thailand, I break it up with a visit to another new place. I still keep coming back and have not found that better place yet!
  12. To put things into perspective though, he was one of the first visitors to arrive and the Sandbox plan was still in flux when he arrived. If you want a better idea of what to expect, you should join one of the Phuket Sandbox groups on Facebook. It has more up to date (up to the minute) information. Most people that entered the Sandbox are reporting generally good reviews.
  13. This was the most ridiculous idea ever. Private hospitals were never realistically going to be able to import any vaccines. Vaccine manufacturers are currently only selling to governments. They don’t want to get into situation where they sell to the highest bidder. What vaccine is available on the open market? NONE!
  14. That is still unclear. No direct flights from mainland and no transit in HK without 14 day quarantine currently.
  15. Not all vaccinated have the same level of protection. The immunocompromised are more likely to get infected again because they can’t build enough antibodies. As long as the virus keep spreading, new mutations will occur and new variants can become vaccine resistant.
