The Corrdus school is situated in Oxfordshire, a county blessed with many excellent state schools. The choice is very clearly not about a lack of excellent schools, it’s about buying privilege.

Brian, I hate to break it to you but referring to someone else’s post is not the same thing as making a statement on the basis of that post.

I don’t make statements on what constitutes the basis of other people’s posts. Again you resort to allegations of spreading false information, and yet I have provided quotes from the school head confirming that enrollment had already fallen below a sustainable level and has now fallen further below the sustainable level. You really should wind in your habit of accusing me of dishonesty when I have backed my statements with those of the head of school.

Yes as someone else says, the straw that broke the camel’s back, but clearly the back was already at breaking point. I think the school has been around about 67 years.

Here’s the head’s statement again: “The combination of VAT across both schools, further compounded by the increase in employers’ National Insurance contributions, and the Carrdus pupil roll falling further below a sustainable number, means that Tudor Hall is no longer able to make the substantial financial commitment to Carrdus School that is required.” Contributing factors are: VAT Increase in NI AND Pupil numbers falling further below a sustainable number. Student numbers already below sustainable numbers and falling further. This on top of the Head’s other statement from the OP “she stated. This timing has put many private schools under intense financial strain, particularly those with already declining enrollment rates.” Very clearly the school was already struggling.

Again, Brian I have expressed my opinion backed by the head of the schools statement that ”the Carrdus pupil roll falling further below a sustainable number” Now you might disagree with my reading of the school head’s statement, but you have no reason to resort to allegations of dishonesty.

Not dishonest Brian, just a different opinion based on available information. On the bright side, the state sector is hiring teachers, the staff will find new jobs.

I would agree with that. But obviously there were already significant problems.

Still waiting for you to outline this contradiction you claim I have made. I’m not however holding my breath, it’s your MO. Kick the pieces over and waddle off.

The fact that it has folded so soon after the VAT announcement suggests it was in the ropes.

Reflexes too, but VO2Max is if critical importance any effort over around 45 seconds, and these will be two minutes rounds. Its going to be ugly.

I suspect his promoters see an opportunity for a killing. It doesn’t matter how good an athlete was when he was in his 20s and 30s, by the time he gets into his 50s he already lost a significant portion of his VO2Max. If he can’t get a knock out in round one it’s going to be an embarrassing end to a great boxer.

One of the best ways to improve a school is for the parents of children at the school to get involved in the schools governance, it’s why state schools in middle class neighborhoods so often have very much higher scores. The highly motivated parents of whom you speak will a long with their children be a positive addition to the state schools they enroll at. They’ll also save some money. Win win.

Nobody has taken away private schools. Carrdus was obviously on the ropes, read the reviews, high staff turnover was already a problem. How about giving all children a high standard education and then letting them decide what they want to do in life?!

Is he accepting suggestions of who that man should be and wether or not to bring him back or not?

Putting the single biggest private recipient of Government funding in charge of ‘Government Efficiency’, it’s bound to be a corrupt scam.
