  1. I think it has a lot to do with protected cartels, one in particular.
  2. Trumps rubes have yet to learn who it is that pays tariffs.
  3. Not for millions of Thai people it isn’t.
  4. Like he didn’t last time.
  5. I expect the rejection of Gaetz as the AG pushed the numbers up. Though I doubt most Americans are giving Trump’s transition much thought at all while Trump’s absence from social media and public appearances can only help quieten public perception of what’s going on.
  6. It depends on the means of ‘defending’.
  7. The Space Karen obviously doesn’t like being called to testify before a Parliamentary inquiry.
  8. Thank you both for taking the time to respond with helpful suggestions. The tree is a Chum Saeng (Xanthophyllum lanceatum) I’ll apply the treatments DTL has recommended but also work on improving the soil around the tree. I have about 2 cubic meters of leaf mold/banana tree compost that I will start with and some micronutrients recommended by the local farm supply shop. Thanks again.
  9. Yet more crystal ball predictions. Although there are reports of. £100million increase in taxes on the parasitic gambling industry. I wonder what outrage and objections that will give rise to?
  10. 14 years to be precise. The about turn, ending austerity and shifting the tax burden off ordinary working people onto the wealthy is causing some pain and a lot of bleating, but it’s time to e d the lie of trickledown economics.
  11. We really do need an award for the first off topic ‘refugee/immigrant’ in any thread.
  12. Thank you Brian, you did read your link? ”They warned their autumn survey did not even take account of the further damage caused by the government’s announcement of an employer National Insurance hike. And it is feared that before long all councils will be in the same funding black hole. Their research found a massive 81% of councils are warning they are on course to overspend before next April, up from 72% last financial year.” Yes local councils are in dire financial straits, 72% overspending last year now up to a forecast 82% or higher. That’s what happens after over a decade of austerity and cuts to public spending. Thankfully Labour ending austerity and increasing public spending.
  13. And as fact you present predictions of the future.
  14. Any ideas of how to deal with tree burrowing pests? These have taken up residence in one of our garden trees, refer photo: The tree is old but otherwise healthy.
  15. Until you tell us what business you’ve run I’ll take that with a large pinch of nah.
  16. It’s an industry in receipt of vast sums of public money, of course they want more and of course they want yo pay lower ‘tax deductible’ NI.
  17. Brian, tell us what expertise you have, what business have you run?
  18. I hear is food reviews were more balanced.
  19. I’ve never put a patent in a care home either. Nor have I become outraged over taxes I’ll never myself be asked to pay.
  20. And you know this despite the names not being released?
