    It’s a good point. If not having a stamp in your passport that says ‘immigrant’ negates the status of being an immigrant, then surely anyone who arrives in the without getting that stamp can’t be an immigrant.

If your sister had enjoyed her holiday so much that she decided to stay a few years, get married, have children, buy a property, and do so by continually doing border runs (as many Farang do), would she be: A tourist? An immigrant? A migrant? An illegal immigrant? An illegal migrant?
