  1. I think he was observing its so well defended not even one Russian can get in.
  2. As noted earlier, Biden reminded China who controls the food China needs to import to feed itself.
  3. Troubles never come alone, Alex Jones is out to cut a deal with the DoJ: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/alex-jones-capitol-jan-6-b2062081.html
  4. It’s a sad indictment of the American rightwing that it relies on inflammatory statements to enrage and then corral it’s support base with lies and defamatory statements while hiding behind what the courts have/haven’t ruled.
  5. It’s obviously very easy to fall into the trap of denigrating the population of a nation engaged in an unprovoked and illegal war of aggression as being stupid or worse still complicit. I feel we should resist this natural bias. Don’t fall for absurd idea that ordinary Russians aren’t able to draw accurate conclusions from the fact that as Russia engages in an illegal and totally unnecessary war with Ukrainian the Russian government blocks access to almost all social media. When they then hear their son, the son of a relative, friend or neighbor has stopped calling home from his military posting…. Well, I’m quite sure they can work it out.
  6. I agree Charlie, I was just pointing out the double trouble of the whole process.
  7. The ‘travel to Bangkok/Chiang Mai’ issue is a bit more complicated than it need be. I recently helped a British friend renew his passport, the process requires the applicant or the applicant’s appointed representative to travel to Bangkok/Chiang Mai twice. Once to submit the application and again to collect the new passport.
  8. Tour de France champion Sir Bradley Wiggins has spoken today of being sexually groomed at the age of 13 years old by a coach: https://edition.cnn.com/2022/04/20/sport/bradley-wiggins-british-cycling-nspcc-spt-intl/index.html
  9. How desperate is Putin having to recruit from Syria and Chechnya to get troops to fight his war of aggression in which the Russian military are being humiliated?
  10. Putin giving up riders to his military that failed to carry out the last orders he gave. I agree, doesn’t sound that good to me either.
  11. Biden’s administration has rolled out full vaccination to over 200 million Americans while vaccine reluctance is highest amongst people who (let me be charitable) are not going to vote Democrat. So in a sense you are correct, there is a ‘political’ incentive not to enforce mask wearing and simply let nature run its course.
  12. It might not be convenient to your position on this war to consider these individuals as mercenaries but please leave the rest of us to use the correct definitions.
  13. The ABA advised the Judge is not qualified and has an inadequate understanding of the law. I look forward to the appeal.
  14. It might depend on what Putin can con the Russian public into believing is a victory. Strongman leaders being revealed as not strong is never a good thing for strongman leaders.
  15. Not necessary. Supplying Ukrainian with anti ship missiles will force Russia to withdraw its aging fleet to a ‘safe’ distance.
  16. Moreover, Russia’s economy cannot sustain the military it has, let alone the military it would need to maintain security by any means other than the peaceful cooperation and trade that existed before Putin trashed it. Germany alone has already raised its military budgets to exceed those of Russia. Added to which Russia is facing its first loan default on May 4th. Whatever motivated Putin it wasn’t anything to do with what was best for Russia.
  17. They are perhaps keeping a low profile incase they get conscripted.
  18. Getting you back on topic for a moment. What gave Russia the right to invade Ukraine?
  19. Meanwhile Russia has taken action. An illegal, unprovoked invasion of an independent sovereign nation.
  20. Where are you getting this nonsense from? Russia has illegally invaded Ukraine, doing so Russia has demonstrated it is a threat to its neighbors.
  21. Try to grasp this. Ukraine is a sovereign nation and has the right to join NATO. Putin is not Ukrainian, he’s not the head of the Ukrainian state, he has not legal right to impose any restrictions on Ukraine. Hence his illegal war of aggression.
