  1. “I think what my book does is shows that he is somebody who, for whom — he’s buried in details. He’s somebody who is very technocratic, really obsessed with the intricacies of policy. He’s a very activist president in that he micromanages a lot of the dealings in the White House” Feel free to ignore that if it’s at odds with your idea of ‘sleepy Joe’.
  2. They can send who they like, I doubt they have anyone as politically savvy as Moscow Mitch. The GOP are now well and truly under the control of the Alt-Right loons, it’s going to get a lot worse before it can return to being a party with any positive policies to present to America.
  3. Did you really just say ‘victim blaming’?
  4. Please forgive me for providing an example that demonstrates the point that many people have insufficient income to cover their basic needs.
  5. But if one’s income is below that needed to cover one’s basic needs? Shouldn't be too hard for someone who tells us he has ‘care work’ experience, to work out. Given many people receiving Government funded care packages do not have sufficient income to fund the care they receive.
  6. I cycle raced on the Monaco F1 circuit in the 1980s. I criterium that was held in the week before the F1 race.
  7. Did he say he doesn’t. Sympathy for those ensnared by criminal gangs and sympathy for the victims of scams perpetrated by criminal gangs are not mutually exclusive.
  8. Well of course, but what about all the other people struggling on low pay who do none of these things?
  9. Do you have evidence that people on low incomes unable to meet their basic needs are ‘overspending’.
  10. All well and Dandy until one’s means do not meet one’s basic needs.
  11. We don’t, that’s why you selectively edited my post in your response.
  12. No they are not, They are determined by the gap between income and expenditure. Millions don’t earn enough to cover basic and essential needs.
  13. Financial circumstances are not determined by what people believe in the media.
  14. Not learned the lesson of where isolationism leads them.
  15. A pitiful offering compared to the final salary pensions of 40 years ago.
  16. Didn’t you say something similar about Trump?
  17. Everything Trump touches dies, some of it will die in prison.
  18. My nationality is not the topic of discussion. Deal with my arguments if you are able.
  19. What was the price multiple between your 1980s salary and 1980s house? Mine was 2.5. Within 8 months after graduation I had saved the 15% deposit and could afford a mortgage on my first home. My kids are looking at 5 or more years to be able to get near a mortgage and they are working in well paid professions, earning well above the average of their age cohort. Now add in work place pensions, available to most working people in the 80s, and many having gold plated final salary schemes, opportunities that very few enjoy in 2023. The means of wealth accumulation have been stripped out from under working people and pushed up to the already wealthy. Trickle down economics was a lie, it was always a lie.
  20. Bringing jobs home, infrastructure investment that is is creating well paid jobs across America….
