  1. There is no need for Government to be involved in a simple criminal investigation of corporate manslaughter.
  2. Nothing to do with #Believeallwomen, or indeed #BelieveWomen.
  3. McCarthy has to do as he is told by the lunatics on the GOP, they changed the rules to allow a single objection vote to initiate a vote to remove the speaker. He’s being jerked around and can’t do anything to avoid it. A mess if the GOP’s own making.
  4. It’s looking like another example of stochastic terrorism: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-stochastic-terrorism-uses-disgust-to-incite-violence/?amp=true
  5. McCarty and Republicans in the house could do a lot of things. If they got off their ‘distraction bus’ they could do something positive for America.
  6. And here are the decision makers along with the decisions they made: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/aug/22/lucy-letby-who-ran-the-hospital-she-worked-at-and-where-are-they-now
  7. The guns did precisely what they were designed to do.
  8. There’s a lot of effort being made in this thread to put blame on the left wing of the political spectrum. Reporting I have read gives no indication that leftwing politics motivated the killer. I look forward to hearing what motivated him.
  9. Whataboutary. Refer topic of discussion at top of thread.
  10. “extremist rhetoric has brought us to a situation where ANYONE who does not blindly accept LBGTQ rehetoric is demonised.” Perhaps extremist rhetoric has played a part in motivating the killer to gun down the business owner. I expect we’ll find the answer to that when fuller reports are available. Who knows maybe you are right, maybe someone’s rhetoric did play a part in driving him to killing.
  11. A bit of a false equivalence. The issue is not ‘that the left does not promote dialogue either’. Its a guy gunning down a business owner for having the temerity to fly a pride flag at her own business premises. I look forward to hearing what motivated him.
  12. Struggling to back up your assertions, again.
  13. My initial assessment was to await further information. Tell me how that assessment was wrong. We still do not know what motivated the attacker. I look forward to fuller information.
  14. I think you told us a lot more than you intended.
  15. I’m truth the judicial process says Trump will be arrested, he’s simply admitting the fact.
  16. Again, not quite right. I have stated the motivations were not, at that time known. I did not say the motivation was not religious.
  17. At the start of this discussion you were OK with posting arguments based on your assertions of Christian’s and Muslims being intolerant.
  18. Not quite correct. At the time of me saying I look forward to hearing the motivation, the motivations were not yet known. Reports are coming in that are providing more information. I look forward to hearing fuller reporting.
  19. I haven’t put any words in your mouth. Calling out your victim blaming by referring to the post in which you engage in victim blaming is not a ‘strawman’.
  20. What, I engage in victim blaming? Examples of me doing so if you have them.
  21. Oh no, he’s going to get away with all!
  22. That’s an interesting conclusion you’ve come to. But please, don’t put words in my mouth, I’ll speak for myself thank you.
