Target removes some LGBTQ products after threats
Chomper Higgot replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If I chose to buy or not buy a product then I’m making a consumer choice. If I threaten others for any reason at all then I am not making a consumer choice, I’m making threats. But these are anti LGBT threats, so Yeh, you cast them as ‘consumer choice’. Another circle lands in the unitary Ven Diagram of hate. -
Labour are very happy for the Tories to stew in their Tory Brexit. I’ve said for a long time, I want this Tory Government to go full term so that they can be seen to be responsible for their Brexit and the damage their Brexit has done to the country. That Farage had now admitted Brexit is a failure and is pointing fingers at the Tories is a bonus. Farage will of course immediately switch to blaming Labour as soon as they take office, but for now let the Tories stew in it.

Here’s what the Office of National Statistics has to say on the matter. Millions are digitally excluded, and exclusion is highest amongst the old, the disabled and people on low incomes. The very people for whom traipsing around multiple supermarkets to do there weekly shop is a problem: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/householdcharacteristics/homeinternetandsocialmediausage/articles/exploringtheuksdigitaldivide/2019-03-04

Do you have data on that?

I guess we really are now in the the denial phase of ‘Brexit Failure’. Farage, a leader of Brexit states tge obvious fact ‘Brexit has Failed’ ( His words) and Brexiteers go into denial.
-
So perhaps Brexit Failing deniers should refrain from suggesting online shopping.
-
Oh, so everyone is now using online shopping.
-
You’ll even find it discussed in the rightwing press, if you look: https://www.ft.com/content/e39d0315-fd5b-47c8-8560-04bb786f2c13

People of all ages unable to get their shopping in one supermarket, like they did up until Brexit. Perhaps not a big problem for the young, fit and healthy, but definitely a problem for people who don’t have their own transport, or suffer health/age related mobility problems. Farage is right, Brexit has failed. The failure of Brexit is now being widely and openly discussed. Brexit failure is now part of the public discourse.
-
Only after having to visit two supermarkets, something that was not necessary pre-Brexit. Farage is right, Brexit had failed.
-
No. I described my experience and backed it up by providing a news report that indicated my experience was similar to that of others across the UK. If you wish to ague that Brexit has not created food shortages do so, and we can deal with that particular Brexit failure.
-
They have no connection to Brexit, which is the point. Since you seem to have missed the concept of a simultaneous equation let me give you a refresher. Economy A = Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Economy B = Zero Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Economy C = Zero Brexit + Pandemic.+ Ukrainian war. Economy D = Zero Brexit + Pandemic + Ukrainian war. Comparison of economy A with B removes the common impacts and leaves the Brexit impact. Fo the same for comparison A with C and A with D. Not too difficult to grasp.

Ron DeSantis will launch his presidential bid with Elon Musk
Chomper Higgot replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
I guess Trump will not be returning to Twitter then. -
Via costly and time consuming trade barriers.
-
And now it’s not.
-
It is a prediction.
-
Oh, a prediction.

Listen up, again. I have my own reasons for concluding Brexit is a failure. I agree with Farage’s conclusion, I don’t have to agree with how he came to that conclusion. ‘The UK is the only G7 nation not to have recovered its economy to its pre Pandemic level’. That in and of itself is reason to conclude Brexit has failed.
-
The UK being the only G7 nation not to have recovered its economy to pre-pandemic levels will do as a start.
-
The reason I’m referring to what Farage has said is, are you ready for this? “Nigel Farage: ‘Brexit has failed’” Is the topic of discussion. I hope that helps you understand the subject of the thread you are engaging in.
-
I found what I wanted in the second supermarket I visited. Gone are the pre-Brexit days when I could get all my shopping in one supermarket. Others have the same experience, hence the news articles discussing food shortages.
-
An on going failure. Ask Farage, he’s saying it on TV. People have heard him say it, people up and down the country are discussing the fact that Brexit has failed.
