  1. I do feel qualified to say the price of food in Thailand is an irrelevance in a topic discussing hunger in the UK.
  2. No, because I normally live in Thailand. I arrived here last week. Nice try though.
  3. I’m in the UK right now, I need to check the bus times from here to the Lotus in Nakhon Nowhere.
  4. Rationing was a controlled diet designed to ensure a balanced and sufficient food intake. It was also in place during a period when the industrial processed food industry did not exist.
  5. I don’t know, currently I’m on the UK.
  6. Not so. Millions going hungry in the UK is a problem, not seen since the 1930s. It’s a problem of the moment.
  7. Good for them. Life experiences of others differ.
  8. I don’t think we are discussing why you left, but I may be wrong.
  9. Most people in the UK are not able to make the choice you made. You might open your mind and consider millions need to earn a living, raise, feed, house and educate their children, millions more are caring for aged parents or dealing with their own health challenges. The UK is there home, where their lives and responsibilities are. Your experience of moving across the globe to find somewhere cheap to live is a totally irrelevance to the lives of the vast majority of people in the Uk.
  10. It hasn’t dawned on you, prices in the UK are significantly higher than the UK? The fact you paid in ฿ is clue you missed.
  11. When was the last time you were in the UK? (The subject nation of this thread).
  12. For some reason this thread seems to be Kryptonite to MAGA.
  13. Disastrous for Russian tank crews for sure.
  14. The illegal war Russia started.
  15. I think that ended when MAGA Insurrectionists erected a gallows outside the Capitol and went hunting for the VP with calls to hang him.
  16. Not so. Education is only one part of the equation, it will not solve the problems created by deliberate breaking of cultures and societies.
  17. It’s a pattern repeated globally. Destroy people’s culture and the social problems of alcoholism, drug abuse, violence, family break down (the list goes on). As true with native cultures destroyed around the world as it has been in the western working class communities. Destroy a culture and social problems follow. Who knew?!
  18. I sense a bit of chicken and egg going on here.
  19. More tanks on the way: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jan/24/us-abrams-tanks-ukraine
  20. Just read it as whatever Putin says he wants.
  21. “ Whatever happened during Trump's term that kept Russia's neck wound in is worth repeating.” I take it you are referring to Trump’s attempted extortion, threatening to withhold arms shipments to Ukraine if Zelensky did not announce a fake investigation into Biden’s son. No, none of that ‘is worth repeating’. We don’t need US Presidents acting criminally and in their own personal interests and those of Putin: https://www.americanprogress.org/article/trumps-extortion-ukraine-complete-government-shakedown/
  22. Good to see Pence acting decisively to report this find. Good to see USAG acting decisively to investigate the matter. If criminality is found, then indict. The criminal holding, withholding or concealment of classified documents should always be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If criminality is not found, make a clear unequivocal statement to that effect.
