  1. Oddly, when guns aren’t widely available (UK and Australia being examples), mass murders are far less common.
  2. False equivalence. Trump was speaking at the NRA event, an organization that promotes guns and opposes gun controls. Except of course when Trump is speaking.
  3. Let’s take the gun lobby at its word, ‘guns don’t kill people, people kill people’ and latterly ‘mental illness is the cause of gun violence’. If these two statements are true, why the objection to background checks? Why the objection to denying gun ownership to people with a record of violence? Why the objections to denying gun ownership to people suffering mental illness?
  4. Oh right, so NY State, Georgia State and the DoJ are not well down the road in their investigations of Trump’s crimes you claim were ‘crying wolf’.
  5. And so it begins to be reported. There is ample evidence that NY State, Georgia Stare and the DoJ have ongoing investigations and Grand Juries examining Trump and many of those who were in Trump’s administration. Why this has received so little press coverage is a mystery. However, next month the Congressional investigation into the events of January 6 goes to live TV, the game is about to change pace.
  6. Nobody cares about your lies BritMan, though depending on what lies you tell HMGov you may be breaking the law. ’Tony Blair blah blah’ is irrelevant whataboutary. Johnson broke the laws others were obeying despite the difficulties they personally suffered at the time, he then lied about it mIllions of people (voters) understand that.
  7. I thought you were done? Go back and read your posts to see who’s statements you are relying on.
  8. Please come back when you have a more credible witness.
  9. Well, yes, because it’s a salient point. You are using what Johnson says as some kind of proof that he did not break the law. It’s a proof that falls apart on the established fact that Johnson is a habitual liar. He has absolutely no credibility. Millions of people (voters) understand this.
  10. Johnson says a lot of things. Unfortunately he also tells a lot of lies, he’s s got a long record of lying, lying is his thing.
  11. Junior members of staff at that party were fined, not for drinking but for attending an illegal gathering. Johnson attended and then lied about it. Millions of people (voters) understand this.
  12. Obfuscation. The law breaking was not how many drinks were had. Millions of people understand this. Which is why I’m looking forward to the forthcoming bi-elections.
  13. Lying to parliament is not a ‘trivial’ matter.
  14. The UK economy relies upon a significant number of seasonal workers, particularly the food industry, refer link below. Granting visa to the EU workers in permanent employment who decided not to return home does not help this particular ’Project Fear gone Project Reality’. https://www.nfuonline.com/updates-and-information/food-chain-labour-shortages-what-you-need-to-know/ The NHS is indeed trying to discourage people going to their doctor (for minor medical issues), but this is noise on top of the main medical service demands and will almost zero impact on NHS staff shortages: Hospitals still need to be staffed, reducing visits to GPs will have zero impact on this. Outpatient Clinical support still needs to be staffed, reducing visits to GPs will have zero impact on this. Emergency health services still need to be staffed, reducing visits to GPs will have zero impact on this. Spin it as you like, Brexit has caused serious staffing problems for British businesses and health/care services. https://amp.theguardian.com/society/2022/mar/03/staffing-crisis-deepens-in-nhs-england-with-110000-posts-unfilled
  15. Precautions and vaccines reduce risk, they do not eliminate risk. As has been explained many times.
  16. 1. It’s not one word against another, it is multiple allegations made by multiple people. 2. There are very sound reasons why victims of rape, particularly male victims of rape, conceal their rape, shame and historical lack of support being the most obvious. 3. Again, this is a criminal prosecution, it is not a civil liability trial.
  17. The charges are brought by the Crown Prosecution Service, this is a criminal prosecution, it is not a ‘high payout civil case’. The court ruling will be ‘guilty’ or ‘not guilty’, if found guilty the court will hand down a sentence which will very likely be custodial. There are no big payouts to victims coming out of this trial.
  18. There’s a whole nest of problems, I listed a few earlier in this thread, they have various causes but all share the same amplifying factor, mismanagement by a callous and incompetent government.
  19. You’ve quoted my post, now can you point to the part that mentions ‘Brexit’?
  20. Everyone’s back to work, COVID is a background issue. COVID is not driving up prices and poverty.
  21. The main issue right now, head and shoulders above everything else, is the cost of living crisis, inflation and rising poverty.
  22. I’m witnessing it close up right now and listening to what people are saying. I’m looking forward to the upcoming bi-elections.
