  1. No I do not support the actions of Hamas that I have consistently referred to as heinous and which you are aware I have consistently referred to as heinous. I do support negotiations for peace and I do support the exchange of hostages, prisoners and captured military personnel. The ceasefire deal is not yet approved by the both sides, I hope it does get approved and I sincerely hope both sides abide by it.
  2. As the BBC reports, the ceasefire deal is not yet approved by both sides with wrangling over issues that might still yet, though hopefully not, prevent its approval. Your inflammatory suggestion would without any doubt scupper this very important and necessary ceasefire.
  3. This BBC report provides broader information on the current state of the negotiations: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93ll522e9no
  4. I’m not a fan of folk who don’t pay their taxes. Moyne gets no sympathy from me.
  5. Good for you Jonny, all honest and essential work. I admire folk who will make an effort and regard no work as lowly or beneath them.
  6. Good news that hostages and prisoners are being released (exchanged) and too of a pause in the killing. Bad news of mission creep and continued Israeli occupation in Gaza, but it does at least expose the lie that if the hostages are released the killing will stop.
  7. All based on your own preconceived notions of a hierarchy of jobs. I’m very clear on this, labouring, hod carrying and other low skill jobs are all honest ways to earn a living, essential too. I don’t subscribe to your opinion of ‘lowly hod carriers’. Maybe it’s a product of that British Class thing, but describing an honest days work as ‘lowly’ is definitely disdainful of the work and those who do it.
  8. Thank you for demonstrating the point I made.
  9. I‘m sure it’s a job with lots of positives, plenty of exercise in lots of fresh air and the chance to join in Labour’s fix the nation’s affordable housing shortage. But I didn’t squander my school days dreamily looking out the school house window at the footy field and hence have broader options and more rewarding options. Are you looking for careers advice?
  10. Well clearly that’s something you yourself came up with.
  11. And from your link: "The court found it unlawful. This is a serious point. We will put in place a better framework. "We're working on a draft, remedial order and replacement legislation, and we will look at every conceivable way to prevent these types of cases claiming damages. And I say that on the record." Starmer, understands the Government is not above the law and is clearly responding to a court ruling, as he must.
  12. I rather like my post, it’s revealed precisely who among us regard an honest days work laboring to be ‘lowly’.
  13. It’s not a put down Jonny, hod carrying is an honest way to make a living. Again not my choice but nothing to be looked down on, regardless of your assertion it is.
  14. This^ “Freedom of speech and assembly are not only for the bold. Timid citizens also have a right to speak and assemble, without putting their jobs, their relationships, their relatives, and even their safety at risk. That is why we sometimes need anonymous assembly. And why masks sometimes ensure freedom.” https://www.ifs.org/news/proper-masking-law-promotes-freedom/
  15. Tories out of Government for twenty years while their policies that have done so much to wreck British society are reversed is a much more effective give solution.
  16. Here we go again, blaming immigrants. There’s a shortage of public housing across the nation, including areas with low immigrant populations.
  17. Are you sure you’re posting in the right thread?
  18. “Plenty of other things I might not comment on though.” And there’s the rub.
  19. I said from the start, she’s a gift to Labour. It seems she’s a bit of a bonus for Reform too. She’ll stay in place until the Tories decide they want to get serious about trying to win elections again. For now, enjoy the farce.
  20. There isn’t enough public housing to meet demand. Something needs to be done and when it is you moan.
  21. Honk Kong, that oppressive surveillance police state. Not the best example to follow.
  22. If you assert there are those who need to face justice then it seems you know this to be the case, it’s then a matter for the police.
  23. There you go, I certainly do not hold you in contempt.
