I see these tankers almost weekly, sometimes a small convoy of the things, round by me. I always pull over and let them pass as the way they drive with such hazardous material is shocking. Oil tanker spillages seem to be a tri-monthly event here but unfortunately this one ended worse than others.

Never have understood just why a western person would WANT to work in Thailand.
Never did read the article, did you?

What's the correct visa for a digital nomad?

Don't worry about having non immigrant visas like some will suggest nor work permit. You'll not be able to get these working as a digital nomad. So if you're long term going to stay you'll have to get an education visa through a Thai language school or a self defense class which are run by the military. Don't worry, you'll barely have to attend and both of these avenues are setup to earn those who run the course cash and as a way to get long stay visas for people such as yourself. Looking at upsards of 30k a year for this visa.

This again. Nothing special about this thing. Theres been workers working on the wall the past few months and making it look a complete monstrosity. Odd coloured bricks and building right over the pavement. Anyway, the people should know better I have to say.

Kong-at said the insurgents had also snatched an M16 assault rifle and two 9mm pistols from the slain policemen
An M16? Why were police officers walking around with an M16 and even stopping at a tea shop to have a cuppa with it.

I hope that young Thais, especially university students, take this election very seriously. They must actively get involved and convince their older family members that these tactics harm Thailand. They have to be willing to put it all on the line, no matter the cost. It is their futures at stake. If you want to be free you have to be willing to die for that freedom. That is what freed Ukrainians from being puppets of Russia. They're still paying the price, but they'll win out in the end. Thailand still has a third world mentality in many ways and technological advances alone won't cure that.
Ah yes, an uprising from the people to over throw the government that could lead to civil war. A whole load of good that's done in Syria, hey? Only 400,000 dead. How about Egypt? Libya? Yeman? All well and good calling for revolutionary action but I guarantee you'd be one of the first out of here if sh!t hit the fan but the vast majority of Thais in would have no where to go.

My friends who regularly take the vans from Bangkok to Hua Hin, say that the drivers are much safer lately and do drive slower. A big improvement!
I do have a little sympathy for them if they get tickets for briefly exceeding the limit while passing. Are there any of us who have not done that?
And if you were caught speeding you'd expect to be fined or have license revoked or sent to jail, no? These guys want to endanger others and face little to no consequences. How do you have sympathy for that?

Anyway, Makro has the best selection IMO. They have huge 50 gallon bins of all kinds of herbs, chilies, and spices. They sell a lot so the turnover is high and items are fresher.
Which makro are you referring to? The one close to Bangkok hospital has big bins but they are full mostly of peanuts and beans. All their spicee/herbs are prepackaged.

Soon they'll be Singha, Leo and Chang branded joints being sold in 7/11. Legal weed is just another revenue stream for the big boys and also the last paragraph sums up Thai protectionism to a tee.

The guy asked a genuine question.
And here's another snippet of information;
i know 3 millionaires in my home country.
All 3 left school at 16 or earlier.
All are self made millionaires, ie they inherited nothing.
Except a hard work ethic from their families.
And two left school unable to read or write, and the third was dyslexic............
And they are wonderful human beings.
Oh, you mean the American dream came true for these people? How many Thais do you know this happened to?

There are barely any job opportunities for highly qualified people with degrees and PHDs here in Thailand especially in CM. What hope does a 15 year old with little schooling have?

Come to Thailand, have fun in the land of smile, but go home at midnight! for <deleted>-x sake!
Get over yourself, man. There are plenty of bars who stay open beyond the cerfuw. Start on Loi Kroh, ask around and you'll be sure to find what you're looking for.

Take your complaints to the army, they're the ones responsible I believe. You can find them not too far from the airport.

Nothing against the gender but countries need a person with morals and empathy in charge not people with strong ties in the business world. No one like trump for example

failing to take any action against these anti-social, law breaking motorcyclists/cyclists
Do you wish to tell us more about anti-social and law breaking CYCLISTS? Maybe a link to a story about bad boy cyclists going round and running people over, deafening neighborhood's with their loud bells, disregarding the law, cutting up other cyclists, etc.
Your comment is lame.

Blanket ban on beer because of a Buddhist holiday in a country that is supposedly open to all. The hypocrisy. The real reason for these bans is because they don't want the locals to gather round, have a few bevies and then start talking about the problems in the country. That's my view.

In the north, not only will it be polluted, it will also be hot and there's not going to be any water. Only going to get worse unless people change there ways.

All those who love to bad mouth cyclists and pedestrians, have you ever asked yourself who is responsible for most of Thailand's issues? Be it deaths, traffic, pollution. Ever tried to walk on the pavement in BKK at anytime of the any day? You'll get scooters beeping at you to get out of their way whilst walking on the pavement. Ever tried to cross at zebra crossing? Motorists are the cause for most of Thailand's issues.

Mini heatwave to hit northern Thailand next week
in Thailand News
Posted
Luckily, even if anyone is out at the hottest part of the day they'll be no need for suncream. The farmers and the motorists and big agriculture have seen this heatwave coming for months and have been kind enough to cover the region with a thick grey blanket to catch any harmful UV rays that may cause trouble to people, especially the gingers. Thank you to all who have contributed to the protective UV blanket and for the beautiful sunsets.
