Chinese Tourist Arrivals Plunged Nearly 30% Week Over Week
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Chinese are not coming in mass anytime soon. Good, bad or indifferent. Those are the facts. And the only ones that seem surprised is TAT. The world is a far different place than it was in 2019 (far more fear, uncertainty, doubt - beit economic, war, guns/drugs/crime - there's plenty to point to). Yet TAT still wants to believe 50 million tourist will be arriving by 2025. TAT has lost the plot entirely. -
What about the 1000s of Thais desperate to leave Israel? Israeli thinking about themselves first, I guess ???? Nothing better than war to drive tourism. TAT probably thinking about visa free entry for Hamas and Palestinians. Thailand is turning into a refugee camp between the Russians, Ukrainian and Israeli... none of this is going to end well.

And what will happen with the funds collected when not paid out to the dead and dying tourist? "Administrative expenses" no doubt... ???? classic Thailand. Spending money they don't have on populist giveaways, and then collecting more fees from the only hand that feeds (tourist) - without any transparency - to enrich the corrupt and contemptible.

Anutin Enforces Stricter Firearm Regulations
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Arbitrarily enforcement based on patronage and protection racks, no doubt. They should just outlaw all handguns and begin melting down the existing ones (offer 10.000 THB to anyone who turns one in). Mandatory 10 years in prison if caught simply possessing one. That's real change. -
Thailand’s digital wallet project: Green light to make cash splash

One if many planned populist giveaways with no way to pay for it... great idea ????... -
Thailand’s firearm frenzy: Tops ASEAN in guns, 13th in global tragedy

Thailand has an immerging gun problem. Do nothing, or more of the same, and in 20 years it will be unfixable. -
More details on Thai taxation of overseas income
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nothing was explained. Only one more embarrassed than the TRD by this latest news is ScandAsia for reporting it as a clarification. -
Just shows how deep and wide corruption in the RTP goes. If you needed any more evidence.

Blockbuster movie scares Chinese tourists away from Thailand
Cabradelmar replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Chinese propaganda at work... CCP wants to keep money in-country... "spend locally" for the good of the collective. How affective was this one movie, ask a Chinese. One thing is certain, they are not coming to Thailand as before. -
Thai PM says use of cannabis must be regulated within six months
Cabradelmar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Given the number of ganja shops opened in the last 12 months, that's a lot of capital investment gonna get throw under the bus... then again, maybe everyone can get some sort of medical ganja card for a small fee ???? Whatever this government decides to do, it will likely be handled as ham-handed as the initial decriminalization/legalization of recreational weed. -
Thai PM sees a role for Thaksin when he gets out of jail
Cabradelmar replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Too ill to serve his prison term in lock-up, but well enough to hold a job. I can't wait to see his "miraculous" recovery and return to civilian life. It's good to be wealthy. -
Thailand Ranks Ninth in the World for Country Most Open for Business

If you're going to lie, at least make up a plausible lie... 9th in the entire world ???????????? -
What a waste of limited resources in a system that has far more pressing needs... they need to pay for better teachers, improve the curriculum (away from rote learning), not to mention the shortage of new/quality textbooks and classrooms. And while your at it do something about all the 15-16 year olds who quit school after the 9th grade... make grades 10-12 (Matthayom Suksa 4-6) compulsory and free (or at least tuition minimal)... free tablets is a feel good gimmick in a system desperately broken

How old is they guy and what is he doing dating college aged students. Probably a teaching maintaining the grand tradition of isaan teachers banging their students. Dowry is a very real and current tradition in isaan (amoung Thais). But 1m THB is extortion (even of she was a virgin with a college degree).
