You are confusing Kavanaugh’s hearing with the DoJ investigation into complaints of criminality leveled at Kavanaugh.

Please excuse those of us who do not join you in your confusion:

Well, I am not confused. Confirmations are controlled by the Senate. The Republicans control the Senate. What other outcome were you looking for?

when is this attention hungry fool going to realize that Kim is playing him like a cheap violin. All Kim wants is time to finally develop an a bomb and the missile to carry it. Then the world will have to treat him with relevance. Trump would do better to reinstate the agreement with Iran like the whole rest of the world (aside from Saudi Arabia) wants.

Sure, why not? Iran was as committed to the agreement about as much as China is committed to the agreement with Hong Kong.

Israel has no rights whatever, to take pre-emptive strikes against Iran. And should they do so, it could be the end of the nation. Iran could crush Israel. Of course, the US would then be pulled into the war. But since the US has lost every war it has engaged in since WWII (sorry, but Grenada and Panama do not count), and nothing is a given, in that equation. It could also mean the end of America as we know it. It could end up escalating to a completely unforeseen level, quickly. As we know from recent history, the US has no vision and rarely is successful, when it comes to engaging other nations, and nation building.

The US needs to slap down Israel in the strongest way possible, to prevent something like this from happening. Their leadership under Netanyahu is beyond abysmal.

Do you really think Israel doesn't have nukes?

Any country you want to dream about. More fiction: "the country’s troop deployment capability in the high seas."

Just as fictitious as the country of Sarkhan (The Ugly American 1963)

Edit: Having said that, the Thai navy did fight the Japanse in 1941 for five hours, when they invaded Thailand.

Does the Thai Navy even have refueling vessels? Or will they have to pull into a port each time to get fuel?

Ongoing drug war, extreme typhons, lack of proper infrastructure - the trafic sucks, the Food isn't great, outdated Medical supplies,  Garbage everywhere - to mention some …

When you take Things for granted in Thailand then a trip to the Phillipines is a great way to remind you how Nice Thailand actually is in most ways …

Seems as though you have only seen Manila or Angeles City.

Ongoing drug war? Could be the United States. Typhoons? Again could be the United States. We just call them hurricanes. Traffic? Are you kidding?

Food. Thai food really is not all that great. Garbage everywhere? When was the last time you drove around Khon Kaen?

You forgot the beaches. Oh that's right! The beaches in the Philippines are a hundred times better than Thailand.

First, not all Americans are rich.  Many can't afford to miss a paycheck.  But he got here so one has to assume he had some money.  From LA, it costs about $500 for a roundtrip ticket to Bangkok on China Southern and that is likely the cheapest ticket available.

From Bangkok, he had to get to Chiang Mai, book a room, pay for food and booze.  So let's assume he started with at least $1,000.

There is no way to know what he has left but I would think that Thai authorities could contact the US Consulate to see if he has assets in America that can be seized.

Personally, I think he needs to spend some time locked up and if it turns out he does have the funds, he should have to pay an additional fine to compensate the Thai government for the cost of his incarceration.

All that said, a lot of comments here seem to be pretty racist.  Which is sad.  Take race out of it.  What he did is wrong, regardless of culture.

Under what rule of law or authority would the U.S. Consulate be able to seize assets of this person?

So that's the choice is it?. How is it that so many developed nations have somehow managed not to choose to adopt Thailand's system or the US system, and still provide better health care.

Of course there will be "many stories." There are about 25 million Canadians. The question is on balance, who's better off? Canadians or Americans?

Are Canadian citizens clamoring for a switch to the American system?

Don't know what the Canadians are "clamoring" to do. Nor do I care.  I like the system we have and that's it. If you don't like it, sorry about that.
