  1. Correct. Ayn Rand espoused laissez-faire capitalism, Despite her life-long objections to government-run programs, she did avail herself of Social Security and Medicare in her final years.
  2. It would certainly make Thai roads a lot safer. IMO there is no such thing as good or bad technology. It's the way humans use it.
  3. Why should I? They were probably fake losses anyway. There are a number of ways to reduce profits to low tax levels. Shifting between subsidiaries, creating high interest loans from one arm to another, etc. Why do you think most company structures look like a bowl of spaghetti? The beauty of revenue is it can't be shifted or hidden. It has no BS deductions. If you are content with the current system hollowing out the middle class, I assume you are wealthy yourself.
  4. I don't understand what you have posted, or its relevance to the point I was making.
  5. I can remember a time when I worked in a department that had three secretaries, to type reports. Then everyone got laptops, and were told to type themselves. Iron ore trains in the Pilbara are controlled from Perth. It won't be long before there are driverless trucks on the roads, or taxis which only have passengers.
  6. I am suggesting when a billionaire pays $750 in taxes in 2016 AND 2017, whereas some one on $50,000 per year pays $5900 tax, there is something seriously wrong with the system. An Australian tax accountant once calculated a 1.5% tax on revenue would wipe out government debt in the first year. Wouldn't you like to have had your salary taxed at 1.5%?
  7. Germany has a force of 350 Leopard tanks. It has donated 18 to Ukraine.
  8. Inequality of wealth ensures the really wealthy are above the law.
  9. British women? You like big butts and thunder thighs?
  10. Careful now. A double does of Cialis might send you into arrhythmia.
  11. Wrong. Show me the field in the Centrelink assets listing that specifies cash as an asset.
  12. Every day, Centrelink is fielding phone calls from people who have lost their jobs, have split up, are on Newstart etc. The average wait time is two hours for OAP's, 5-6 hours for others. You can't get into a Centrelink office without making an appointment, which has to be done either with a phone, or a double visit. Walk-ins are not welcome. I know it is your sick fantasy Centrelink will come after us all, which is even more sick because you are not on the OAP yourself. You need help. Truth is, Centrelink has more than enough on its plate with people still in the workforce, or trying to be. The evidence from three posters here is Centrelink couldn't care less whether or not we update our assets. Can you find anyone who has been prosecuted by Centrelink for failing to update? Logic says people with assets are going to have them declining, as they supplement their part pension by drawing on capital. Why would Centrelink chase people, only to give them more money?
  13. It's hard to figure out what Trump is doing, he flip-flops more than a fresh-caught fish.
  14. While both Ukrainian and Russian use the Cyrillic alphabet, they are not identical. Here's a breakdown of the key differences: Distinct Letters: Ukrainian has letters that Russian lacks: Ґ ґ, Є є, І і, and Ї ї. Russian has letters that Ukrainian lacks: Ё ё, Ъ ъ, Ы ы, and Э э. Therefore, although they share many common Cyrillic letters, the Ukrainian and Russian alphabets have notable differences. Welcome to my ignore list, for your ignorance and lack of manners.
  15. If Canada can't win this trade war, why is Trump backing down?
  16. Canada can sell oil to the EU and China, at a better price. How do you think New York is going to function with no electricity?
  17. I posted on another thread about Kentucky losing $1 billion in liquor sales. That affects the farmers who grow the corn, the employees who make the bourbon, the industry that makes the glass bottles, the truckers who haul the finished product across the Canadian border. Job cuts all round.
  18. Canada supplies all the electricity to the entire north-eastern corridor. Colorado, Oregon and California would have to go on rationing. A 50% cut in oil supply would see gasoline rationing. You've heard of compound interest? Your posts are compounding stupidity.
  19. The inevitable consequence of two madmen in the White House. Think there is wealth inequity now? It's going to get much worse.
  20. Please go ahead. Boycott Canadian oil and electricity, see where it gets you.
  21. Ever thought of minding your own business?
  22. I really can't see the sense of alienating allies with tariffs, and wrecking your own economy with them as well. Already, Kentucky bourbon makers have lost $1 billion in sales to Canada. Converting allies to someone who wants to punch you in the mouth is insane. The DOGE scythe is cutting down Republicans along with Democrats. There is nothing selective about it. How do MAGA's rationalize such actions?
  23. $2000 for a premature ejaculation. The ladies will have more fun with that than you do.
  24. Ever heard of a money belt? I have flown cash (AUD) to Thailand multiple times. It gets exchanged at a better rate than via interbank transfer. I am not suggesting anything. I am saying Centrelink has no way of knowing whether any person on a pension has purchased property in Thailand, unless that person tells them.
