IMO the OP is a little harsh. Russia has made significant contributions in music, dance, and literature. Russia still produces some of the best chess players. Russia's problems can be divided into epochs. The first is the history of the Mongols and Tartars, who kept Russia a society on the run for centuries. As the OP says, the Tsars also retarded Russia's development, with the serf system. When Communism took over, the planned economy failed, as all planned economies do. Inefficiency ruled every aspect of life. In fact, the only true statesman Russia has produced was Gorbachev, who ended up being deeply unpopular. Under Putin, Russia has become a kleptocracy. While Russian life expectancy has improved, it is still significantly lower than most Western countries. Russia is a human tragedy, because it has never developed into a true democracy, and with its resources should be one of the wealthiest nations on the planet.

Sorry, you only get one entry.

I see, The New York Times is a leftist rag. According to a New York Times report in 2018, Trump received at least $413 million (in 2018 prices) from his father's business empire. I know you want to be a contender, but I have to exercise judgment. Short posts don't qualify.

Bangkok could be submerged in seven years warns economist

According to Gemini, there are 181 skyscrapers higher than 150 meters. There are probably hundreds more high rises under that height. Perhaps one solution would be to relocate all the power , water and communications infrastructure several floors up, and let Bangkok become another Venice. -
False. He inherited $413 million from Fred Trump. He always tries to minimize what he got from his father, to aggrandize his own business acumen. Which seems to mainly consist of dudding contractors A major player in economics, with at least 7 failed businesses? ROFL. Trump has been a major player in courts too. 4000 of them, being sued or suing someone. That was before he even got on the wrong side of the criminal courts. You don't seem to understand all Presidents have advisers. Although Trump is notorious for disregarding any advice but his own. Thank you for suggesting a project to me. From now on, I will keep a screenshot of every post I think is smart and well-informed, and the ones I think are egregiously stupid. When I get to ten of each, I will post them on two separate threads, and ask for a vote by ASEAN members on which they think is the winner in each category. I will be excluding my own posts, unless they are responses debunking another, in which case both posts will be shown. My congratulations. You are the first contender.

Bangkok could be submerged in seven years warns economist

That would be a neat trick, raising a 50 floor condo. Has it been done anywhere? How many high rise buildings are there in Bangkok, anyway? -
Eisenhower was a general. Kennedy was a naval commander. LBJ was a schoolteacher. Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer. Reagan was an actor. They all had economists and career diplomats to advise them. Why would Harris be any different?
-
It depends on the quality of the fixtures and fittings used. It's also important to get tradespeople who know what they are doing.
-
Pathetic response. Go away until you have learned how to argue like an adult.

Classic Trump, attack the person. Beg the question. Tell me what's wrong with what I posted. Are you saying Trump does not want to avoid jail by any means available?
-
Those politicians did not have the ammunition Harris has. Trump will also be debating someone of different ethnicity for the first time. If he tries to bully her, or lets his racism surface, he will be turning off the female vote along with minority groups. A single mangling of a word, increasingly common with Trump nowadays, and Harris will be all over it like a cheap suit. Prosecutors are trained to home in on slips by hostile witnesses. It's a new experience for him. As they say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. My guess is he will look really old by the time the debate is over.

The budget sounds a bit low for 90 sqm, IME it is pretty rare for any project in Thailand to come in on budget. I would add 10-20% contingency. Good luck.

How stupidity is an existential threat to America

Australians pay $7.50 for medicine prescriptions, a policy introduced by a leftist government. Americans pay small fortunes. That doesn't sound like common sense to me. Perhaps you like this kind of prescription instead......... -

Ask yourself one question: what understanding do you have of the Laws of Thermodynamics? Climate change and global warming are the result of the First and Second Law, respectively. Without understanding those, you are posting from a base of zero knowledge. -

Politicians don't listen to scientists, maybe an economist has a better shot at being heard. You might also notice insurance companies are hiking premiums in areas that are vulnerable to climate change. Coast or bush, it's all the same to them. They don't get to live in huge skyscrapers by placing their risk bets on the wrong side of the ledger. Those large lending corporations are going to be sh!tting themselves, when the properties they have loaned money on can no longer be insured. -
Agree, he has everything to lose when Harris takes a forensic scalpel to his lies. Difficult to have a big rally at the same time when the venues are less than half full, more leaving as he gets into his stolen election shtick. As I understand it, cities are becoming increasingly reluctant to have his rallies, due to the trail of unpaid bills he is leaving behind. He owes El Paso half a million dollars.
-
I hope Harris wins so all the MAGA supporters crawl back under the rocks they came from. No need to worry about them losing their minds, that ship sailed long ago.

Funny how Trumpets can't move on from Biden, but are so desperate to move on from the felon, pussy grabber, document thief...... you know the rest. What's YOUR exit strategy?

Two options - move, as Indonesia is in the process is doing. Or build dikes. Either way, it will be very expensive. -
-
It's the same game Trump played with the hush money trial. Ultimately, he did not take the witness stand because he knew he would get shredded. He debated Biden because he thought he could win. His handlers probably told him Biden was in cognitive decline. The same handlers are probably telling him debating Harris is too dangerous. As a former prosecutor, she has the tools to eviscerate him. Trump hates losing, or being called a loser. Being unable to interrupt or talk over Harris is a losing position.

Negotiating a lower price. Knowing when to call the cops, and when not to. Knowing how much is appropriate as a gift to a neighbor. Knowing how to get the poo yai on her side in a dispute. All stuff I am clueless about.
