IIRC I pointed to the burger and said " Leum Ni Mai?" She then looked at the sales slip still in her hand with my change, and realized it was missing. Rang it up, and generated another sales slip, adjusted my change. Perhaps I was wrong pointing at the burger, I don't know. She did not look confused by my Thai. Or maybe she needed a "Kor tawt krap" as well.

I would assume every 7/11 has a built-in figure for wastage. Most retail businesses have it built into planning and pricing. If the wastage figure exceeds what is decreed by the bean-counters at head office in one location, that's when the secret shoppers and auditors move in.

I enjoy the ride on the scooter going back and forth between the village and 7/11, good roads, about 5 km each way. Safe riding, comparative to in town. i have my simple pleasures.

Oh come on. The nuclear weapons were physically in Ukraine. You think the Ukrainians could not have cracked those codes? The Black Sea fleet has had to retreat from Sevastopol. Russian troops are terrorized by drones costing less than a couple of hundred dollars. To me, that says Ukrainians are quite ingenious people.
