Why did immigration suddenly notice her after all these years?

Does someone want her "out the way" ?

How did her Husband die ?

What will happen to their business ?

    Who will inherit it ?

    YOUR questions are the answers.

propably when the husband died the business started to disfunction.

hungry neighbours eyes saw an opportunity to take over some properties,

and when the woman showed weakness - they called police.

remember that in thailand the snitch gets 30% of the seized assets, legally,

so it is a motivation strong enough to keep an eye on each other.

n many, probably most countries, dual pricing based on race is illegal.

in the famous FOZ DO IGUACU park, there are four prices:

one price for brazilians, one for argentinians, one for south americans and another one

    for all the rest.

makes sense to me, becuase it is like "national" park, and anyway not a product

    you consume daily.

health services, on the other hand, are another realm. much more complicated.

i was never charged more when i went to local clnics. but i am still upset with the 8000 baht i

had to pay for 3 PCR tests when entered thailand. propably the highest price in the world.

    total rip off.

I’ve sold property in Thailand by way of company ownership and made a very nice profit when I sold it 7 years later on top of that I did not have to pay rent during that time and I was advised that the minimum rental I could expect was 80,000 baht per month I now have a beach front villa for sale at 25 million and even tho we are going through Covid I have already had several interested parties so unless your talking properties  out in the sticks on the islands there is money to be  made !

WHAT was you  % return on investment in USD within those 7 years?

than compare it to the same investment in your home country and see if it was

    worth it

if you do live in thailand than it is a different story, but even than you might be

better off renting in thailand and buying in a stable free market country.

what rich person would come to thailand if he cannot buy a house in his name or his company name. they are not going to mess around with finding a thai lady. they will not come!!! by the way, some homes might become more expensive but builders cannot sell to only foreigners. they have to price the house for thais also.

my main reason for not wanting to buy property in thailand is, i dont trust the government, any deals they affore will be renegaded on at a later date or visa requirements made impossible

me too. in worst case senario they might confiscate all foreigners properties and tell

them to <deleted> off, the way it happaned in cambodia in the 70's.

another reason is that the return on real estate in thailand is very bad, hardly bit inflation in hard currency terms, propably because of the same reason - no investor will want to put

his or her hard earned money in a country that looks half built and full of ever changing strange laws and regulations, like allowing only 49% ownership in condo building ...what da....give me a break .

  5. interesting to note that while all over asia, ex. japan but incl. singapore and of course china, foreigners

are not allowed to own land, in farang countries - EU US UK AND THE AMERICAS - chinese thai and asians can come and buy all the land they can pay for....

just to remove any racist feelings, the definition for "foreigner" is not based on race but on

citizenhip. i wonder what will happan if 10million farang will get citizenship in thailand

and will start to buy land....hmmmm....that will be a chalenge to law makers.

I feel their actions are unprofessional, unethical, and likely violate Thai labor laws..

    Opinions?

    WELL, welcome to LOS (s-scams).

when they do not reply to you it means the answer is no, but still they are afraid that you will leave and want to avoid confrontation.

what the school did was simply to take you for a fool and to cheat you. As for the thai labor laws - well, truth is that there are no laws in this country or at least there is no way to implement them.

to sue the school will cost you dearly, with very low chance of success. the school did what it did in elusive  ways so it will be hard for you to prove it in court of law.  Now it is your choice if to stay with them, and how to stay with them.

What i would do is paying back in the same selfish manipulative manner: keep on working just to get the benefits while looking for ways to abuse their system, and for another employer, maybe even in another country.

If so, whats the point ?

the point is that you can get free flights that cost a lot of money.

    no other card gives it.

in some countries trading in miles is big business and you can sell them

for cash, but not in thailand.

anyway, say you spent half million baht with you card in a year.

it is worth 28,000 miles on cris aliance - air ticket to europe, 2 way.

  8. I also used to suspect taxi drivers for taking long routes and demanded from them exact change, but than i saw a post here in this forum, explaining how poorare taxi drivers in thailand are, and how the meter system makes them work so hard for so little.

it made me realise that it acctually does not pay the taxi driver to take longer routes, and

anyway the price is so cheap - around70-80baht for 30-40 minutes drive, and from that

day on wards i started leaving the small change as tip for the driver.

say the meter says 63 baht, and i pay 100 baht, i will take only 70 baht as change.

    they deserve it.
