i don't know what goes on in their heads.
what goes on in their heads is very simple - and eye for an eye thinking.
just interest.
why did he aggree to support a policeman? because he hoped for the policeman
support in case he will need some favor, like taking out a competitor's eye
or threatening a debtor.
that is all there is to it. sheer selfishness.

And Portugal, with the highest vaccination rate in the EU and incidence rate 87(which is very low), not on the list.
portugal is not big money same same U.S. germany and U.K.
Obviously those officials do not care much about the health measures they themselves
suggesting, and just want to open to as much money spenders as possible, which is ok, just
don't give us all those vaccines talk.

is china that small country in the carribeans between san marino and barbados?
HHHHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA i think i get now those thai officials. this
whole pandemic thing makes them feel like world emperors, sitting on the globe's map and commenting about this and that country. obviously they have no idea where san marino is and how many people live in barbados, they just...well...i think i better leave now.

ASQ if you are asymptomatic
THIS is not what i have heard. if test positive, the farang will be rushed to min. 14 days quarantine in a state hospital, regardless of the symptoms. this is not a cheap field hospital but an expensive one, usually 60 K baht, so you better make sure your insurance covers it.
however, if still in the airport, you might demand to get back on the next flight, but not sure it will work.

the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Certificate of Entry (COE) requirement for foreign tourists will be replaced with a new web based system called “Thailand Pass”
if it is going to work like the 90 days report on line, or the linepay id approval, or other online based systems in thailand, than it is
going to be a nightmare.
at least with COE there is some humans who understand the flows and can smooth curbs, with a (thai) computerised system it is going to be one hell of a mess. the loss is all for thailand.

better for whom? In whose opinion?
BETTER for everybody. there is an ultimate and absolute better.
for example, if your car is making a funny noise and your wife complain about it,
she can push you to go to the mechanic and this will make the car a better car
for and for her and for the entire human race.

We want to live in a house, you understand? And I can’t own a house, but my daughter can.
you sound confused and ignorant.
you wanting to live in a house has nothing to do with buying the house to someone else.
you can lose a house which is not properly registered on your name, and
than you can lose the house AND your money.
fact is that foreigners can't buy houses in thailand. mo mattar what the lawyers will tell you,
thai law does not give you full ownership on houses and land.
if that is what thailand wants - so be it. do not waste your time and energy trying
tofigure out how you can own a house in a country that does not allow you to own a house.
it is not such a big loss. just rent a house, invest your money in better investments, and be happy. and when your child will grow up you will have more money to give her.

i never use my card for anything ,besides ATM sometimes and even this i am doing only
with the bank's big branches.
Thailand, like most of the world, is not safe for card use, but much safer for cash carrying. so
why not use cash?
and i lovedthe way you wrote "...my bank and i..." as if the bank is some king a lover you have
to put first...

The problem? How long have you been living here? The answer is obvious: The owner is a Farang.
unfortunately true. after all the jocks cracked, the sad reality is
that the police did come to search his house just because he is farang with 300K baht missing, and there is even a chance he might end up in jail unless he pay those "missing" 300K baht...

the western world is moving and pushing to a cashless world, which means that all your money
will be electronically, which means that you will become a walking on two chip, controlled by
some distant control room. if someone does not like you or what you said on "social media" - he can
just turn off your chip and you are left with no money - death.
that is why i try to use cash and cash only.
we all must fight this nazi tyranny cards.

CC with a fixed deposit amount as guarantee
this is called debit card, not credit card.
debit cards will allways be very easy to get, because the bank had no risk.
credit card, defined as cards that gives you money which you might not have, are
allways harder to get.

The recording is just to have proof in case something goes to court
thai law gives power to the powerfull and do not care much about the weak, so your question
is very interesting indeed.
in most democratic / reasonable countries it is allowed to record a conversation, that might be
used later in court. but not sure about thailand. from my experience in other countries, you might
have difficulties even recording the conversation, because the man in power might grab and smash
your recording device. if the recording is made secretly it might work, but than again, not sure
a thai court will accept it as evidence.

a policeman, not in thailand, once explained to me that a career criminal knows the law better than lawyers.
i learned this the hard way when i was attacked once by an experienced criminal, whom i never met before. i was just sitting in a restaurant and that stranger came and harrased me, threatened me and came too close to my face. i backed off but he kept coming closer .
i got scared and pushed him away, than he started shouting "he attacked me !! he attacked me !!!"
while thowing things at me and shouting threats.
i left the place quickly and later someone explained to me that he came acctually to extort the restaurant owner. telling him but if he will not pay he will keep on harrasing customers, but if
i had stayed the police could charge me with an assault because the CCTV captured me
pushing him first....and he knew it !!

the thai phone number will be lost if not load with credit after three months.
if you find a way to load your sim with credit, even 20 baht, the number will be saved.
to solve this problem, you have three options:
1. pay a thai friend to load the sim card with money, this can be done in any 7/11 shop without you having to be present.
2. pay TRUE 700 baht to keep your number for a year, even if no money load (this
amount cannot be used for calls).
3. pay AIS 290 baht for the same deal, keeping your number for a year. in this case you can
use the credit for calls. but i am not sure this is accurate, only advice i got from their saleswoman.
another option might be that you can charge your phone from abraod while using
your thai bank or thai payment app, if they will work while you are abroad.

there are questions surrounding 300,000 baht he had in his possession from a land sale. The money is missing.
SO he came to rob - or just visit - a man in his house carrying 300,000 baht?
no, i do not think so.
i think that what happaned is as followed:
mother of thai robber: but him farang, him have bg money (free translation from thai)
policeman: no cannot just tell him give money, because many people know allready.
mother: so i can say him have 300,000 baht with him, and we share the money 50/50
policeman: hmmm....this might work
and that is why thepolice is even coming with the idea that the robber might carry with him
300,000 baht , an idea which is not even an insult for any kind of intelligence, on this planet and beyond.
