You're saying there won't be 100k per day? I hope you're right. I'm 100% rooting for you. It doesn't have to, but looking at the numbers it is likely to happen.
Curious though. What is your reason for thinking it won't happen?
historic global measures from past 15 months

Possibly. It's difficult to sustain a rate of doubling, though a 100k per day seems likely.
At some point people will become much more cautious and careful, slowing the rate. Also a growing vaccinated population will help slow it. It would be better if vaccination rates increase, of course.
non sense

15,000. a day, every day. And will keep increasing because of no vaccines. Mayb by the end of next year they will start getting a handle on it…..maybe.
or maybe never, and they will do what mexico do and open everything !!

The current rate is that new cases are doubling every two weeks or so. If that continues it means 100,000 new cases per day by early September.
AND 400,000 by october !!

I can't even count how many times the sky was supposedly falling here in Thailand. And then it didn't.
My prediction is that they'll muddle through again, despite the outrageous ineptitude we've all been witnessing, and most of us will still be alive to see better times post lockdown.
i think the numbers are cooked hard. 15000 infections and only 80-90 deaths? that
is an excellent rate of 0.67%...even the u,s, did not acheive it

maybe hunting farang and bbq and eating them. everything is possible in the land of smiles

on the meantime, thailand is doing quite well, if to believe the numbers.
15,000 infected are not much for a 66 million country.
you need to check the relative numbers to get the picture right.
if you have good health insurance, you are ok in thailand.
going back to the "motherland" will not help much

i think phuket is still empty. only few tourists here and there.
place look deserted. ghost town.
the central mall so empty.
80% of the shops are closed.
most open hotels are empty.
and this makes even me thinking about leaving the place.
because, well, it is so empty.

pitty is that most shops are closed, propably for ever. what a shame. will take years
for this place to recover even if covid is gone tomorrow and all business back to normal.

C19 will pass and life will, slowly albeit, return to almost normal one day down the road. Almost 50 and can't see myself getting a job back in the West - at least not one that pays enough to raise a family and even less of a chance my missus could get anything decent as her English is mediocre and her qualifications aren't worth the paper they're printed on outside of Thailand.
Overall, am happy here. There are a few annoyances, but the good days far outweigh the drawbacks.
The main concerns/complaints I have are:
1) my son's education here. He'll have to go to a private international school to have any chance of a bright future. We don't need to discuss the educational system here as we all know (us and them) just how abysmal it is.
2) the environmental problems. Everything from filthy canals to air pollution. There doesn't seem to be a will to solve this issue and to finally clean up their act.
3) the lack of cultural activities. When I lived in Europe, I went to the library regularly; attended evening classes for adults (further education?) where I studied languages, how to cook, basic computer skills, etc.; went to the theatre, art museums and exhibitions. Most of that is lacking here or I've been looking for it in all the wrong places.
Overall, when the sun shines, it sure is nice here.
so basically what you say is that lives here are lousy but you can't afford to leave

And Denmark locked down. Hotels closed. I had a holiday in Copenhagen planned for May, the hotel cancelled my booking citing covid restrictions, I went to Copenhagen (from Malmoe) in July, everyone on the train was stopped and had to show proof that they had valid reason to be let in. The Swedes (except me) didn't use masks in Sweden, all put on their masks before they entered Denmark.
Yes, Denmark has a higher population density, yet much lower mortality. Because they took covid much more seriously. Norway and Finland's numbers speaks for themselves.
i tried to book an air ticket to spain and emailed qatar air, just to make sure,
they gave me confusing answers as to the requrements, and when i asked more, they
asked: WHAT IS THE REASON FOR YOUR TRAVEL?
i answered :"OH SO NOW YOU ARE ASKING FOR THE REASON OF MY TRAVEL?
WELL LET'S SAY IT IS FOR HOLIDAY".
They did not came back to me since.

Honestly, why do you care about the economy of Thailand? Have you a vested interest here?
I lose money from my retirement when their economy is doing well... what about you?
you think like the ultimate cheap charlie. maybe you should move to laos, and than, when laos economy picks up, move to zimbabawe, and so on, until you get to antartica.

I shudder to ask this, but what stricter measures have they even got left in the bag at this point?
Measures taken have already turned what was a nice place into a dystopian hellhole of boredom. What is there even left to close?
one army general stated clearly that next stage is wuhan style lockdown. in this case,
he explained clearly, all supermarkets will be closed and food will be delivered to
the arrested people. makes me think of wanting to leave thailand all together.
Thailand reports daily record of 16,533 new coronavirus cases

my conclusions after 15 months of observing and studying the corona situation are two:
1. lockdowns do not work, because you cannot lock the whole country forever, lockdowns are
only good for helping the system to gain time and to organise.
2. vaccines do work, but not in reducing infections. vaccines are good for preventing hard symptoms.
3. thailand should look at mexico and do as mexico did. open all country NOW and accept 20-40 thousands covid deaths a year, until full vaccinations.
otherwise, the death toll from broken ecobomy will be much higher.
