I am not aware of two pre-approval stages either - Perhaps the application is different from different countries and for arrival under different visas etc (I’ve just looked at arrival from Doha and the UK, with a Non-Imm, Thai Elite and OX visa - for each of the options the medical insurance is submitted with the initial application). 

 

 

 

Take a look at: https://coethailand.mfa.go.th/ the site has a section to upload Medical Insurance with the initial application. 

 

I’ve attached the rolling screen shot (video) of the CoE first stage of application. 

 

At the 30 second mark it shows where the Medical Certificate must be uploaded.

 

 

I hold insurance for the year, not just specific trip insurance. Also on the last CoE application I was already holding tickets and ASQ booking before the application. From registration to receiving the CoE took 3 hours.

thanks for the advice. must the insurance company be thai?

must it be travel insurance? or just any health insurance that covers corona?

that is not true. the COE web site states clearly no need for the insurance in the first

pre-aproval stage (there are two pre-aproval stages).

how can you buy insurance if you do not know the arrival date (air ticket)?

when i told that to my embassy (and sent the screen shot of the COE process)

they apologised and approved the application.

i think thailand should go the mexican way.

mexico never closed its borders, never imposed any lockdown.

this was calculated risk and pain taking, based on the economic realities of that country.

in mexico as in thailand, there are tens of millions of people with hardly any savings

and very low income. for them, not earning a salary for few weeks or months means simply

hence it is better to count hundreads of daily deaths from corona and not

I HAD THE same problem, it took me two hours to resolve it.

what you need to do is to press the arrow (upload sign) on the attached form.

than it wil start the upload process.

you will see a green line filling up, when it is full it is over.

also, in my case the system did not accept photo files (JPG / PNG) -only PDF (the

original form of the vaccination certificate)

I DISCOVERED on this link that a new form is required - declaration form.

on this form i must mention the names of two contact persons.

but i do not have two contact persons, at least not ones that will aggree to give

their passport numbers and address to the thai military government.

what shall i do not? is it all over ?

i think you can book the SHA hotels for the COE only via a special site.

you see, thai authorities do not trust us ai farang in anything.

I hesitate to come to thailand now, becuase of fear of total lockdown on bangkok.

I want to issue a non-O retirement visa but wonder if all the hastle worth it at these times.

my worries are two:

1. Rejection of the visa application for whatever reason  and than the whole trip was uselss.

2. Total lockdown of bangkok that will make it impossible to travel to immigration and issue the non-O visa, or

any other required documents.

so what happaned? i had a loud argument with a bank officer. also a bank account with allmost zero activity.

the reason for the argument - the bank did not close my account even after i asked them few times.

so this is how it goes.

now seriously. do not move to thailand unless you have a good economic reason, like job offer or business opportunity. the dangers are not visible and you are too young to handle them.

you will need lots of guarding angels to gain from thailand. so listen to your parents until you

Yo have free cancellation until 2 days before the travel.

from my experience, agoda does require a payment. they first charge your card later refund.  but i will check it again. anyway, air ticket and insurance also have to be purchased for the COE to be issued.
