  1. It was fairly busy. Had a few big groups of Russians and Chinese all came with organised visa run agencies. If you plan to do this trip do not come Thursday with Friday passport pickup. Took me 2 hours to clear the Lao and Thai checkpoints on the way back due to the massive queue. Other days may be better.
  2. Thai TV is free no fiddling required and perfectly fine.
  3. Sorry I don't know about non o based on retirement in Savannakhet. My guess is that even if they do you would need to prove financials. Probably other members have more knowledge on that visa.
  4. Shouldn't be a problem. Got back a few days ago from Savannakhet with a one year ME non o. Getting a visa there just as easy as before. No financials asked. The Thai border guards at Mukdahan are very friendly and and won't give you any problems especially if you come back with a non o.
  5. Thailand needs to put it's act together regarding dogs. Strays to be collected and destroyed, owners punished for dumping puppies. Around our village people dumping puppies on a monthly basis. Government doesn't do anything when those dogs grow up and starting to attack livestock, people. I lost dozens of ducks due to strays and officials refuse to do anything citing animal protection laws. What a joke.
  6. Same thing happened to me. Got 60 days from the day applied instead of the expiration date. Only lost 4 days so I'm not bothered but I wonder if it's the new practice or just a mistake.
  7. You could try Chong Chom/O'smach border crossing in Surin province. It's a small rather quiet and easy border. There used to be mini buses running from Surin bus station.
  8. Hi! Do you know any delivery/courier company in Thailand that will ship small live animals (rabbits)? I've got a few bunnies need to be delivered from Buriram to another province. I looked online but can only find international animal delivery services. Thanks for any info.
  9. I used this border crossing a few times pre covid so things could have changed. There is a parking lot about 100 meters before the border on the left side of the road. I can't remember the price for overnight parking but wasn't expensive. The crossing is an easy one not too busy. Took around 30 minutes to enter Cambodia and back to the Thai side with a visa exempt. The Cambodian border guards will want a 300 baht bribe on top of the visa fee if you want to return to Thailand on the same day. Some people will offer their help to fill up the papers and help you with the Cambodian visa. Just ignore them the process is easy. You can stock up with cheap booze and cigarettes on the Cambodian side but don't go over the limit as I was stopped and bag searched once on the Thai side.
  10. You may get a few freebies and a small cash discount but that's it really. In my case I got a 7k colour discount for the car being white, and a few free extras+ insurance. Most dealers will also offer a small comission (3-5k bahts) for anyone who brings in a new customer who purchases a car. If you have a Thai friend who is in need of cash get him/her to take you to the dealer and make sure to ask for the comission.
  11. Thanks for that. Now the story is whole.
  12. I'm using the same photos for the last four years. Never had any issue.
  13. There are no seatbelts in the back of my smartcab...
  14. I find that small rural village pharmacies are much cheaper. I take anti histamine tablets for my allergy. In the nearest town to me they charge around 120 bahts for a dozen pills in the shopping centres and fancy pharmacies. 20km from the town I get 10 dozen pills for 150 bahts from a small private local pharmacy. Worth to check outside town.
  15. French butcher/delicatessen. Mainly high end products like imported cheese, salamis, sausages, terrines, some home made. Price ok for Phuket. https://gjc-products.com/en/index.html
  16. A friend of mine used Cambodia Inter Tour for many years. They are on Soi buakhao. He was very happy with them they always managed to fix his visa issues. https://cambodiainter.com/
  17. Thanks for this report. What proof of vaccination do they ask? Is the paper slip enough you get after Vax or you need a proper vaccine passport?
  18. My mate got refused COVID extension about a month ago in Buriram. 'Sorry we don't do that anymore' obviously <deleted> but he couldn't do much about it. Converted his visa to non O
  19. Chill. Refunds to card payments are never instant. It usually takes a few working days. Up to a week is normal.
  20. Google is your friend....it is only a small amount from Russia
  21. Depends where you live I suppose. I'm in Buriram 20km from town in a village. Got tested positive 3 days ago. Had to go to a local government clinic for retest. positive again- next day they sent me to the local hospital for a chest X ray. They told me to quarantine at home, the local nurse dropped off my medication and some monitoring kit. Have to report my temperature and blood oxygen level twice a day. We get cooked meals delivered twice a day too. All free of charge. It may work differently in other provinces.
  22. After Songkran party in my village 3 days ago (no water splashing) my mother in law was tested positive, followed by a couple of nephews, cousins, neighbours and today myself. The same situation in all surrounding villages. On my way to the local clinic this morning (for testing) on average every fourth-fifth houses had a COVID 19 quarantine sign. In my area there is a massive amount of new cases in the last 2 days. Never seen anything like this before.
  23. What Putin and Russia doing is horrific and no doubt he's got many supporters. But you can't brand all Russians the same. Many of them are against the war and stuck here without money or means of transport back home. A lot of people on this forum are behaving exactly the same way as some French and English simple folk during second world war when German Jewish and political refugees were insulted or attacked for speaking German.
  24. Ok. According to the article the Irishman hit his head by falling on the floor and not by direct hit from the security guard. that's again according to the article and the so called Australian witnesses. I wasn't creating a story the journalist did. I do accept that you were there and having better knowledge of the events.
