it is just a matter of who the officer(s) are (his or their personal preferences) otherwise the traffic law and rules are clear.

You report every 90 days as required, no problem you will have. Some just like OP friend who did not report his permanent address will be in trouble since immigration had the last report of him by a hotel in a different province. Traveling is not a problem as long as you already reported where you actually live (permanent address) by 90 day report.

May I ask you if you use any TV box ? 

If yes, just disconnect the cables (Coaxial or HDMI or both) from the box to the TV and then try lights or fan while the TV is on and see what happens. Do you still have the same interruption ?

The current proposals are only for OA (and OX) visas which have to be applied for at a Thai Embassy or Consulate overseas.  There is currently no proposal to require insurance for Extensions of Stay, which are dealt with by Immigration offices in Thailand.

If you got something to say, just quote the OP, not mine. There is even nothing about the subject of my post by you.

I did not mention anything about “Extensions of Stay”

It was about US Medicare !!!!!!!!

they can keep the airline running by your kind, however there are not many like you. No wonder the ticket price keep going up. 

I had my last fly by Thai air from LA to Bangkok 10 years ago. I stoped flying with Thai air since I had a bad experience with Thai air security guard at the gate in LA. The guard looked and act like a typical BKK Tuk Tuk driver ???? then I told myself that is enough, no more Thai air. ????

I’m wondering how many O-A visa holders at 50 or over 50 are out there.

That’s why we are required to keep 400,000 in bank at all time, 12 months a year if we are not on monthly transfer type. 

“no need to prove the source of the money.”

It was a requirement to show that 800,000 transferred from overseas when got my 1st extension at Bangkok immigration (Chaeng Wattana),
