In my humble opinion as high in the mountains as you can get. One of my biggest complaints is the high temps and the high humidity most of the year. But high in the mountains that problem is mitigated a great degree.

I wouldn't be without one. One favorite meal for my Thai guests is sauerkraut and pork ribs. Just put the ribs in and then pour the sauerkraut on top and I add a generous amount of caraway seeds. Cook on high for 4 hours and serve with mashed potatoes. Everyone her in Thailand raves about it. Probably because they have never tasted sauerkraut in their lives.
The other thing I love about my slow cooker is the stews and soups NEVER get burnt.

For the same reason they make traffic laws and then don't enforce them. Red lights are optional. Making a U-turn where it is posted no U-turn is NEVER enforced. Driving a motor bike against the flow of traffic is very common. And no one is ever given a traffic ticket for a moving violation. And on and on.

Un-<deleted>-believable how much hot air those people in their parliament can produce. Day after day without accomplishing ANYTHING.

Why would you need to have Tesco or Big C accept your credit cards. Go to an ATM where most credit cards are accepted and get some cash. DUH

Being a conservative I don't feel the current age is better than years gone by. All the gizmos and gadgets don't make me nearly as happy as the outdoor activities I enjoyed in the past. Leaving doors unlocked or keys in the car ignition without fear of it being stolen or someone breaking into the house is much more important to me than the latest I-phone. I can only see things getting worse as time goes by. Before I owned a gun to go hunting. Now I own one for protection. Not better now than before and no indication things are going to get better. The progressives hate the thought of things going back to the way they once were and the current education system fails to teach history so mistakes won't be made in the future.

Thailand keeps buying stuff from China with no way to pay it off and eventually China will own Thailand. Or at the very least control it. Very stupid short sighted by Thai government in my opinion.

It doesn't make any difference what laws are enacted. Very few Thai drivers take drivers education classes. And secondly extremely few Thai driving laws are enforced.

<deleted> Covid. What makes Thailnd a bit more dangerous now days are the student protests and their efforts to oust Prayut and limit the kings power. I wouldn't be surprised to see the military shoot some of the protesters. I read that they have already jailed some of them.

To mame a few....
Damn you stole my thunder and covered everything I was going to say. But I think the most important thing is zero training. Thais have no concept of what a lane is and why it is important to stay between the lines and not straddling the line.

Instead of asking the dumb asses on this forum why don't get a truly informed opinion by asking a lawyer? My guess is because you are one of those dumb asses.

It seems to me that anyone with any morals would WANT to provide some support for a child they brought into the world. But then again morals seems to be a thing of the past. Someone that refused to help pay for the raising of their own child is just a piece of excrement.

<deleted> Mexico. If you want cheap and Spanish consider Portugal. If you want cheap and SE Asia consider Viet Nam.

The same reason people the world over do not obey laws. They have no respect for authorities or the laws authorities enact.

You must be the only poster that thinks a smartphone is owned by everyone. Dumb.

The problem is and always has been the governments refusal to pay workers to clean the <deleted> out of the rivers so they can flow freely. Their attitude is, it's only a problem when the river is flooding. So why should they pay to have it cleaned when it isn't flooding.

I got my first "stimulus" check and Bangkok bank wouldn't accept it. The local PO wouldn't accept a letter where I tried to mail it to my bank in California. So I had to Fed Ex it to that bank in the US. It cost me $40. Thank God the money was free. I guess Fed Ex is going to get another $40 if I ever get the second stimulus check.

So that lays it to rest. A foreigner can own land as long as he is very very wealthy and can put 40 million baht into Thai gov't bonds. But on a realistic side, damn few foreigners have an extra 40 million baht laying around. So the ACTUAL answer is NO a foreigner can not own land in Thailand.

I have bought and sold gold bars here 40km north of Chiang Mai and used the same dealer each time. He NEVER charges me a commision fee. The normal spread of 100 baht is the commission he makes on each transaction. If they are charging you an extra 50-100 comission, they are cheating you.

I've stopped watching the NFL and NBA because of their anti American demonstrations. Their management supports them so I ceased to support their management.
