Nothing like the good old Australian axle grease to make a Thai pull a funny face. A spoonful of Vegemite.
And now Australia has Vegemite Ice-Cream
I'll stick with durian ice cream thanks. ????

Colemans mustard is available just about everywhere , just mis it with water & 1 drop of olive oil. The premixed is a modern version & does not taste the same as the real thing
Modern? It's been around since I can remember. Yes, freshly mixed powdered is better of course. What's the oil for, seems pointless? I've never seen that done.

Spot on, mustard should be freshly mixed when you want it. ????????

I have noticed that since the Covid hit that there is a lot of imported products disappeared from the supermarket shelves and it seems to take the stores a long time to replenish the stocks of the imported goods if at all.
Sea transportation has been hit hard, as has every facet of globalisation.

Masterfoods is every bit as good as Colmans, trust this 64 year old Brit (also used by a Brit restaurant owner I know who is passionate about his grub). It's in Villa Market and TOPS. Powdered Colmans is in VM. It's better than Colmans in a jar as you can make it even hotter.

Do they not simply go off what they are licensed as.....a restaurant or a bar?
Obvs....this doesn't take into account the vast number of street bars owned by the police!
I was thinking about the difference between a restaurant and a pub.

How do you define pub? Or is that the Thai translation for drinking parlour?
Many pubs serve respectable food and draught beer. Well, the latter seems to be banned anyway. But what about the food? They want to drive more people into bankruptcy and suicide?
Just because a few hi so in Thonglor had to joke with the virus
I'm pretty sure that a restaurant is somewhere that doesn't have a bar where people can congregate, itbonly has distances tables? So a pub whose custom is mostly food will still be forced to close. I'm not the authority on this but that's how I remember it from before.

Spring forward, fall back. Sorry for the Americanism.
People have said that in the UK for many decades! It's a good way to remember.

Yeah it was a great game. It was fun persuading all people so you got a nice human shield around you.
I played the original on a Mac, which probably had better graphics (higher resolution and/or more colours) than the DOS version.
The 90s were a great period for gaming imo. Nowadays I don't play too many games anymore.
You can buy many classic games cheaply on GOG: https://www.gog.comNo need to pay. Google abandonware, there are sites with great old games for free. If you don't mind running a DOS emulator, or ever an Amiga emulator the choices are endless. I often dust off Uplink and pretend I'm an elite undercover hacker, or talking about elite, I renew acquaintance with Elite Plus every now and then. I do remember isometric 3D Syndicate, a very good game. Having said all this, my time at the moment is all sucked into the supermassive black hole that is Red Dead Redemption 2. Cyberpunk 2077 be damned!

I live in a mooban, houses here have much more than 10 years, the one beside mine has 30 years, and she is very strong ... I don't know where you have heard this : from other farangs ?
Don't think your experience tells you everything about Thailand. My friend is an architect and house builder that has worked in Thailand for many years and has many constructions to his name. He tells me enough horror stories about houses he has been called to to shore up foundations. My villa complex also has been well built (although the perimeter walls have been built on very poor foundations, to save costs, it's quite usual, they are leaning and cracking). I'm glad you won the lottery, as did I. ????

Average price? This no doubt includes imported western beers which will push the average price up hugely, as most of them are obviously more expensive than local. Also there are many foreign labels to include and cost out, again pushing up the average.
What a non-survey. Thailand is great and still cheap for those of us that don't want to eat and drink in BKK's Soi 13 or whatever every day of the week. ????

Someone else here has said that COVID detecting dogs in Finland have been 95 pct effective.
So, strange but true.

Being in a moo bahn you are subject to the rules and fees of the moo bahn...
I doubt there's a single Thai builder outside of a major city that digs foundations as deep as farang. Just because your house is still standing doesn't mean it always will. 10 years or so may be the test....

For income method the funds must be shown to be transferred every month and shown to be transfered from o/s etc.
Money in the bank does not need to be shown transferred from o/s.
This thread is about a Chap (OP) suggesting he is using money in bank method and was asked for bank statements at CW.
I doubt that.
The several recent posts from folk (including yours) is about using income method.
Has zip to do with thread.
Longwinded. The point is that no 12 month statement should be necessary for either method, although it is requested so is obligatory.

"On the day of renewal, put 100bat on my bank account, photocopied the passbook. Note that also had letter from the bank as per the requirements. Again, the bank account had 800K for 3 years, no movement at all, except for the 100bat deposit on renewal day."
The words above are from the OP.
No mention of 'income method'
The thread is about extension based on retirement using 'money in bank method'
Especially not difficult to do if your not using income method.
My point which you did not follow is that there should be no requirement for a full 12 month statement at all, for any method.

Any bank should give you a 12 month statement. Krungsri give it free, Kasikorn charge around 400 baht, others I don't know.
For past two years I have had to show monthly foreign receipts (65k method) and also a 12 months bank statement. It's not difficult to do.

I simply despair at the utterly pathetic neediness of absurd calculations like this.
But of course it gives media outlets like you wonderful clickbait (it's utterly unbelievable, yet given headline prominence by a supposedly trustworthy webnews outlet: "we didn't say it, we're only reporting it (oh, in our daily major headlines)"
Can't you just make your headline stories stuff we need to see, and not jokes?
Why give such a totally absurd tale prominence in your 'headline stories'? Her, I guess you're desperate too....
