Obviously, it was done that way by the OP also, here in Thailand. He paid a deposit and didn't pay any more.
A quarter of a million baht is rather large for just a 'deposit' . Payment for ongoing work should be in smaller increments.

Pay a deposit, and make payments as work progresses.
Done this way in N. America by sensible people.

Used a DDPai M6 Plus for 2 years now. Good resolution, magnetic mount so take it out of the car when I get out and so no heat issue (I don't want it for recording when parked). Magnetic mount is fine and no problems with vibration when driving. Very happy.

There are no masks at the pharmacies - where are people supposed to buy them from?
I bought 3 days ago from a small expat food store that sold single use and washable (no entry without a mask, but we sell them ????). 20 Baht for washable fabric ones.

It's all about garden parties and trade deals with a dictatorship......nice
This is completely correct. They care little for the support of British passport holders in Thailand. There are almost no services that you can get from them compared to other nationalities here. A disgrace.

I'm waiting for the conspiracy theorists to come crawling: China infected the world to crash Western economies, then released the cure which they already had stored.
-
So, people are so panicked they're ready to believe there is already a cure for Covid-19?

If you think you have Coronavirus or DO NOT GO TO A GP, CLINIC OR HOSPITAL. Self-isolate at home and call whatever is the given number for advice (or a hospital).
Going out in public if you believe you may have the virus is the most selfish thing anyone can do.

How would you know if you had it? I’m sure you’d be going to the hospital if you’re showing symptoms to see if you have it, I doubt they’d let you go if you test positive.

Not just alcohol. Buy a twin pack of many things, it's more expensive per unit rather than cheaper. I've never worked out why.

Pay attention, Thai doctors found it a few weeks ago:
Pay attention: 3 days ago - (CNN) hope for treating the novel coronavirus could be on the horizon as the first US study of a drug to test the illness is underway.
28th Feb MedicalNewsToday website - "there is currently no cure for this infection". The article mentions research into repurposung existing drugs. Just research.
Today, 1st March: doctor says a potential Coronavirus cure could be a year away (turnto10.com website - NBC 10 News).

Can I ask you to confirm that there is a 'cocktail of drugs' that will cure the virus? As far as I knew they are still working on a vaccine, but you say there is actually a 'cure' if you already have it?
I think people would liked to know this.

Are you really willing to pay for one of these questionable insurances?
The forum has plenty of information how to get rid of the Non O A status (as written in previous post).
I am in the same situation, due in October, and will surely take action.
There aren't many people that can self insure to the tune of several million Baht (which is what you need for say cancer cover). A good insurance (say with April, an international company who partner with a Thai company on the approved list) is eminently sensible. 60000 Baht for age early 60s. Speak to a broker and get half a dozen quotes across the price range.

Simply put, if she's has been hurt by a Thai man and has exposure to farang then she may prefer farang. Checkout girls, bar girls, waitresses all have stories liked this, and usually have the proverbial kid in tow. Monied women will have different ideas, and social status of the man may decide. Otherwise it's like asking 'do you prefer a partner with ten fingers or ten toes'. Just silly.

Well, i suppose it runs a second best to our long gone penny farthing and as i vaguely remember as far back as the 50s it was adorned with our rarest tiny bird now , the wren . thus ok ! .... pot kettle black ????
A Penny Farthing was a bicycle. A farthing was a coin, and yes it was not legal tender when I was small lad in the early 60s, but our newsagent would still accept one from me for a four-a-penny fruit salad chew. ????

I presume the life jacket might be so that his body would be found easily. So likely not a murder.

Mine are certainly different but that would be academic. Immigration wants to see a stamp and signature from the bank on the statement dated within the last 24 hours.
In Hua Hin Kbank say that people have been asking for a bank letter also, to present to immigration, confirming that you hold the account and confirming the current balance. Very strange. And the bank statements anyway should be stamped by the bank.
Ironic (or just annoying) considering HH is one area where they have little trouble due to most of us being retirees with at least a bit of money behind us.

Immigration will only accept proof of transfers into a Thai bank from abroad to apply for an extension of stay. If for an existing extension you would have to show 12 months of transfers. For the first extension only a couple of months would be needed.
I you are wanting to get a non-o visa it would depend upon where you are applying for it at.
Also two separate IOs in Hua Hin demanded separate monthly bank A4 printouts for every incoming monthly transfer, which showed more detail.
My bank (KBank) will give three months free, but charge 500 Baht each for any before that, so I need to go to the bank at least once a quarter to get the last three months income statements free.
I think I read someone also saying this a few months ago.
-
In Hua Hin I took 12 months statement stamped and signed by KBank as I did last year, showing international transfers with an identifiable code, but this year they want individual statements for each single monthly receipt. It cost me 4500 baht for the 9 statements before the latest 3 free that KBank will provide. Immigration also want a letter from the bank confirming that I hold an account there and confirming my current balance. Add this to the BS about approved insurance companies for OA visa and the insurance having to start on the date the visa starts, and I also agree with others that its getting less and less attractive to stay here, because I don't feel the love at all.

Usual attitude is Merc is a serious choice, BMW for boy racer. I can only talk about 4x4 and the Merc I had was like driving on a cloud, even smoother than my RR Sport which I preferred for all other reasons. BMW 4x4 can't come close in any way to either. Scorching hot saloon or coupe of course is another matter and I cant comment. So your question is just silly because of lack of detail.

To any TEFL qualified teachers here, how easy is it to live in Thailand and teach students (one-on-one or small groups) in other countries? I'm not talking about visa requirements, just if there are companies which do this and which I can sign up with? Thanks.

Out of interest what speeds do you get from servers outside Thailand? Testing download speeds from say Vodaphone UK, Orange Paris, Telecom Italia, etc.?

Booze ban: Thailand's one million heavy drinkers face serious health and withdrawal issues

One of the sillier posts on TV.
Hardened drinkers don't know how to get hold of booze during lockdowns? They never bought a bottle over a booze-free religious holiday?
Give me a break, these aren't supposed to be the funny pages....
