Why are they going to the food court instead of a nice cafe?
I don't think they are spending any money, free air-conditioned comfort.
At a Cafe they would be forced to buy something.

Got to be really bored to do that meet up, topics get desperate it seems
Some guys enjoy it, gets them away from the keyboard.
Like you I keep myself busy through the day, exercising etc.
Many years ago, the venue was on Soi 1 Beach Road (Greentree) and a hotel 2nd road (Grand Sole) opposite soi 6.
I went a few times as I was new in town and bored at the time.

Serious question. but wouldn't a tour guide normally be involved in the registration process ? Given that it's their business, after all .
From what I've heard and read, I think he went alone, avoiding tour guide and others.

Does this meet at different locations? I saw a group of people at the big c extra food court that looked like a club meeting of some kind.
Lots of elderly European guys hang out there everyday.
They seem OK, keep to themselves.
Expat club now meets on 2nd road every week.

I've lived in Pattaya nearly 20 years. Living on the Darkside, I have to cross Railway road 3 or 4 times a week when I am forced to drive into town. I observe regular log-jams as brainless, selfish Thais jam up the works by blocking lanes in all directions.
I am not surprised at the number of 'weird angry foreigners'.
I agree with you, 100%, there are many brainless, selfish Thais blocking lanes but it is Thailand, it's to be expected, most countries have selfish drivers, probably why so many road rage incidents these days.
I reckon you'd find there would be a few brainless, selfish foreigners blocking those lanes as well.

Do you avoid expats?
Have you found them to be great friends
Many years ago when I arrived I had loads of expat friends, sadly over the years these foreigners have died off or gone back home because of job loss, divorce etc.
I have a big family now so I tend to avoid foreigners.
I work offshore and tend to spend my time with other offshore workers, we always have something in common to talk about.
Recent years I've noticed the BTC guys (Dodgy dudes) but they dwindled off when bitcoin slumped.
It seems difficult to find an expat that's not unhinged these days, I enjoy talking to normal expats and socializing but not many about.
Its always a bonus to talk with other Aussies. 🦘

Keyless? .. you only get one - dont lose it, they are a quite expensive to replace apparently.
I paid 1000 baht for an extra, not that expensive.
A mate of mine hired a 160 click for a month, he lost the fob, guys from Honda spent half a day trying recode a new fob, charged him 5k baht.

I am writing to the shop already.
I reckon you're wasting good ink.
Go in there personally and talk with them.
BTW, if you're in Pattaya, I had the girlfriends zoomer key cut at the little watch, clock shop west side of TukCom Pattaya Tai for 150 baht, that included the unique magnetic code.

Not road rage then?
The article read like a road rage incident but on this occasion it was just another bloody foreigner with mental illness.
I reckon it would be difficult for the investigators to get it right when mental illness is at fault.

But I was only there for 2hrs.
and I'm not really that weird
I'm quite pleased with the 'Rayburn' sunglasses I brought, I managed to knock him down from 850b to 100b
then mister dickhead falang came along with his megaphone.
You're obviously not one of the weirdos.
There are plenty of good foreigners in Soi Buakhao.

Saw a young Tourist guy 20/30 years old on Soi Buakhao last week walking with a small bull horn, shouting at a local selling knock off sunglasses "Police police'' if he don't end up being beaten up down a dark ally, he should be. Mucking Idiot.
Soi Buakhao is saturated with weird foreigners.

When in Thailand for awhile you get used to Thailand driving.
Safe, as long as you drive the same (or nearly the same) as everyone else.
Same every country you go to, you learn and drive like them. No problems...usually
Yep, agree. 👍
I reckon most expats have rarely or never traveled, never been to other countries apart from Thailand, they have not educated themselves on how driving is dynamic, it's different in some countries, each country has their own quirks and features.

There's also some weird foreigners who arrive at multiple complex solutions with minimal information, back up their assertions with a one-time anecdote, and all of their concocted solutions are invariably dead wrong
100% agree. 👍
I'm sure the majority of comments on AN forums by members reflect your statement.
I've actually seen a few weird comments from you in the past, real doozies. 🤣

After a year or two I realised that it's like music. We learned to drive in a rules-based system, like a Western orchestra playing strictly from the score.
Thais drive like freeform jazz musicians play music. Everyone is improvising all the time, but they're all playing together; the trick is to be aware of everyone else all the time
You've described it so well, nailed it. 👍
The problem is so many foreigners refuse to assimilate or just too old to learn new habits.
The Thais have their own driving/riding techniques, you got to learn these techniques or you will become bitter and miserable, angry with yourself and everyone on the road.
The Thai style is not the safest but it works for them, it's been working for them well before us foreigners came here.
Sadly most foreigners just prefer to be miserable and bitter, always moaning and complaining.

Oh, thanks, I overlooked that.
Yes, probably just a local guy who called himself a tour guide.
