  1. Tomorrow's Headlines. Fat Thai ambulance driver loses his job for allowing disrespectful German women in his ambulance.
  2. It's very rare these days, you do find underage girls working in the bars from time to time but they are generally service girls etc. Around 20...25 years ago, Bang Chan you'd find very young girls in all the bars working for short time, not anymore. Funny thing is those teenage girls have stayed working in the same bars now aged in their 40's.
  3. I have 1st hand experience in the useless staff behind the windows at the embassy but what makes the Ambassador useless?
  4. Makes good business sense. Their fares are so cheap, they probably rely on a tip to survive.
  5. I was talking to a colleague who had been living in Pattaya with his Thai wife and children. He had to move back to England because the offshore work dried up. I asked if he and his family was OK with living in England. He replied saying he was terrified, saying that the school kids were walking the streets carrying knives, kids were getting stabbed daily. He wanted so badly to still be living in Pattaya.
  6. I like Thailand the way it is, don't eradicate anything. You start to change things it'll end up like the Sh..t hole you left behind. No one's perfect, sometimes we overlook things, if it means that you pay a little bit of money to correct the problem, so be it.
  7. He passed away in Thailand, plenty of smiles here. I reckon there would have been a smile. ????
  8. A true character and a mighty legend. We lost this amazing guy here in Thailand. I can imagine the good times he was having. RIP
  9. Quite attractive I heard on the radio that the boat turned sharply and she lost her balance grabbing hold of her friend but her friend shrugged her off and she fell in the water. Too bad it wasn't me she grabbed, I would have held on to her. Very sad story
  10. I would report it to the media outside Thailand perhaps next time have the conversation recorded. Kissing ass only allows it to continue If you're so bothered by this petty issue I'd say Thailand is not for you. Actually Asia is probably not the location for you to settle. I worked in Indonesia, they won't let you in the country if you don't give the immigration officer some money. Angola, they won't let you out of the country if you don't give them some money, the immigration officials at the departure terminal force you to show them your wallet (looking for money) before they let you pass.
  11. The cause Probably the same plastic drinking cup at the water fountain everyone was using.
  12. Avoid Facebook, lots of Dodgy businesses. Find an agent with an office. You might find a good agent close to your immigration office
  13. Agree I've been using an agent since covid came to Thailand. I lost my job offshore and found it a huge task getting everything in order. The agency handles my visa extensions and all my 90 day reports. It's a little bit of effort from me and a little bit more money to pay the agent, then it's like magic, all my anxiety goes away.
  14. I would imagine Online reporting for those who live in the sticks, many kilometers from immigration office is a fantastic option. Apart from spending 6 months in the sticks up in Phetchabun 20 years ago I've always lived only a couple of kms from immigration. The old Pattaya office was closer slightly but the Jomtien office is just a short ride. Their 90 day reporting pre covid was a breeze, in and out in a few minutes then down the beach for a few beers.
  15. I reckon the underworld should have enlisted Boss (Red Bull) to be the Hitman. He can't be captured, nowhere to be seen, covering his tracks. He seems to be so much smarter than law enforcement. The Thai government have all the tools (Interpol, LAM) to assist in capturing Boss but can't be found. It's disappointing going to such extremes, finding the hitmen of an Indian gangster but fail to apprehend a killer of one of their own.
  16. Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye out for bears next time I'm walking around up in Isaan and make sure I'm wearing my bells. (I hope no one sees me, they may think I'm Peter Pan and send for the rubber truck and straight jacket) Grizzly poop, good description. I'm sure that I've been served up Grizzly poop at one of the Dodgy restaurants here in Pattaya.
  17. OK, noted. BTW, thanks for your previous comments regarding rules. Lots of good information. ????
  18. My license numbers did not change. They did change my license numbers when they went from the laminated covered license (old type) to the current.
  19. Yes, the guns were sourced locally and I would have thought to arrange a couple of hitmen locally also. 2 guys could have just disappeared into the night then off to Nakon Nowhere and not heard of again. Would've been a better option than sending a couple of Canadians.
  20. The mobile ticket vendors, the ones walking the streets are the poorest of the poor. I always pay what they ask, sometimes a little more. They don't make a lot of money. All the ticket sellers I've met are very nice people. I feel these lottery pricing posts impact the sellers in a negative way, please be nice to them. Just ignore them if you don't agree with their pricing, don't be nasty. I see people being horrible to them at times.
