Anyone who would post such a foolish piece of propaganda has a lot of nerve  talking about other people's "limitations".

But I posted a response to it as well, I always like to see an alternative view. But, as old, I see things don't change, no response to views, entrenched positions and all that. You don't need to answer my questions, I understand they are difficult for you. However, just a little understanding would be helpful.

I appreciate the posts Mossfinn, but welcome to the Israeli right wing of TV. The response to your well worded posts was a little aggressive don't you think. There must be a lot of nerves touched somewhere.

Hi Jim, it is not the problem of aggression, internet warriors are just that, a lot of space with no real body, if you know what I mean.

Just one perspective in a sea of turmoil and hinted at in the attachments, Israel always had the high moral ground, up to and including the disgraceful way their people were not only murdered on an industrial scale, but the way it was ignored in detail by the allied powers, until other priorities were dealt with. This collective embarrassment and sense of need to recompense has lost all sight in a responsible solution.

This will not be answered but:

The action in Gaza is in response to rockets being fired?

How many Israelis have died because of the rockets?

How many Israelis have died because of the incursion?

    Do the math,

So what is this all about? I wonder what response I will get?

As I thought, little response. Apologies to those who have put a challenging response in other areas.

As I have stated previously, and apologies to those that have responded, 'ad nauseum', Israel always had the high ground, now it would appear they do not, except from the big hitters in the play ground, why is that? But please spare me an answer (ha) until my other question is answered, and I don't mean responded to.

Well since it is 2014 we do not need bar charts or anyone's word

You mean Hamas' word? They just violated numerous ceasefires that they had agreed to. Is there anyone who believes the word of Hamas?

You can't make a peace treaty with Hamas, they are pure evil and will break every single one, no question about it.

They have to be totally eradicated, by any means.

  4. I have little understanding of your post, it just doesn't make much sense.

But wars are fought over land, water and power, and often has nothing to do with religion. If someone even thinks WW2 was fought over the Jews, the Irish war over religion, the break up of the former Soviet Union, the Ukraine situation, and as this is an Israeli/Palestine thread, if it was solely about religion, it would have been sorted a long time ago.

This was at Jay Satas post, I just didn't understand it.

  5. The Happy Beer Garden on Suriwong road, in front of the Montien plaza.

The most enjoyable part is the people watching, you are directly opposite Patpong 1 & Patpong 2, but the other side of the road and is not a hostess bar, but you can watch all the young, middle aged and elderly peruse the markets as if it was a normal night in Europe. A couple of hours later, when the heat and the exotic night life has hit them and you just sit back, take another glug and think,' boy is he gonna regret that in the morning'. Or not as the case may be. laugh.png

  6. Have I ever told the analogy of the frog and the scorpion?

A rather ugly frog was king of his little river, along came a rather pretty scorpion, who needed to cross the river. So the pretty scorpion asked the ugly frog for a lift on his back. The ugly frog said, "of course if you pay me handsomely at the other side".

The pretty scorpion said of course "I will", but then the ugly frog thought better of it and said, " If I take you over, you will sting me, it is in your nature".

The pretty scorpion said, " I only need a lift, and if I sting you, we will both drown".

So the ugly frog agreed, and half way over the river, the pretty scorpion stung the ugly frog, the ugly frog wailed, " Why did you do that, we are now both going to drown".

The pretty scorpion said, " I couldn't help it, it is my nature".

Moral of this analogy, don't make your bed over a river you can't cross without the need of someone else.

So, by dint of what logic would one consider the self same people who may arrive as visitors for 6 months or less to be that much safer that they do not need screening?

Being screened for TB increases the risk of cancer - X-rays are used far more sparingly nowadays than they were 50 years ago.

Tell me what you think after reading them?

  8. Paang, it doesn't have to be expensive to learn English, just keep posting and you will learn new lines, words and grammar every time, just use your learning curve carefully.

For example, and this is for others as well, my first line was using irony, can be a brilliant form of satire, but on the internet it can have a few translation problems.

  9. Mossfinn,

I based my comment on Causes of Tuberculosis, but did misread it. It says " It would be highly unlikely to become infected by sitting next to an infected person on a bus or train." not that you cannot catch it by so doing.

Your experience obviously shows that it is possible to catch it from such an encounter.

The TB certificate requirement is part of the immigration rules and thus applied identically in all countries where a certificate is required.

Countries where you need a TB test to enter the UK

Yes, trust me you can catch it with a chance encounter, but I must stress, it is a difficult decease to catch, nevertheless it still needs to be controlled.

I am pleased to see an extensive list of countries, more extensive than I thought.

  10. It is true that you cannot catch TB merely from sitting next to a sufferer on a bus, you have to be in close proximity for prolonged periods for that; e.g. live with, work with.

I have quoted two lines from the poster, just to say, yes you can catch TB from a person on the bus and no you don't have to have prolonged association with an infected workmate.

The best and logical assessment from the TB clinic I attended was that I had walked through a sneeze or a cough of an infected person, in a city in the UK, I was too long out of Thailand for it to be a contributing factor. ( and no other known associate had the the decease )

Just remember it is difficult to catch, contributions can be low immunity, being ill (possibly one and the same thing) or longer term association, it is an awful decease, don't let it escalate.

  11. It needs to be added that if TB were ever to become widespread in the UK again, the social stigma that was attached to the disease would return. Many years ago sufferers would deny having TB to acquaintances and the cause of death was often altered on the death certificate. When a stigma is attached to a disease, sufferers avoid taking the necessary action to cure themselves and prevent spreading it to others.

I would have to research this a bit more Briggsy, but when I was diagnosed with TB, it sent terror through my family in Ireland as they remembered the bad days of the 50's when it could be prevalent, but no stigma was attached to me. But as you say, if stigma is attached, it can only exacerbate the problem.
