Entering "Tesco/7-11" people wash their hands and wear masks at all times.
A year ago up to May 1st maybe so but not now.
Re 7 Eleven's NOT ANY MORE "at all times" except maybe masks....................heat checks often ignored, signing in & out rarely done, gel sometimes.
Re Lotus.............................heat checks often ignored, gel sometimes, signing in only done if entrance manned & out rarely done.
Big hardware stores & the main entrance to malls seem to be in compliance but not most of the shops within the malls.

Variant D has changed the ball game across the country & region.
We are pretty much right back to March 2020 except more gel & masks to hand.

What is a Big Bike Licence in Thailand?
When do you need a Big Bike Licence in Thailand?
Is the requirement based on a capacity of 400cc and above?

He said this included the possibility of foreigners bringing in more infection.
Better to say both non-Thais & Thais could possibly bring in more infection travelling via the "normal" routes of entry.

So so tired of hearing & reading about the Phuket Sandbox.............................is that all there is in the news today?

Vietnam is in talks with a major producer of mRNA vaccines to manufacture and distribute its vaccine.
So is South Korea which already has vaccine manufacturing plants that can be upgraded quickly to produce mRNA vaccines.
Hopefully this comes to fruitition. I have more confidence in those countries than Thailnd in regards to graft and transparency.
Agreed. A Thailand University lab is developing a mRNA vaccine - I read a short while ago - so they will need a plant locally to produce it next year.

Black Death, pandemic that ravaged Europe between 1347 and 1351, taking a proportionately greater toll of life than any other known epidemic or war up to that time.
(4 years)
From the week.co.uk
How did it end? The most popular theory of how the plague ended is through the implementation of quarantines. The uninfected would typically remain in their homes and only leave when it was necessary, while those who could afford to do so would leave the more densely populated areas and live in greater isolation.
(quarantine, not vaccine although they do rhyme)
Tend to agree..............this virus needs us to mingle to thrive (unless other creatures will do - like bats or birds) so if we all stopped mingling for 3 weeks at the same time it should die out in 3 weeks.....................NOT GOING TO HAPPEN though. Back to herd immunity I think.

That would be down to the Thai company that both owns the existing plant and has a Thai Gov sanctioned monopoly on vaccine production in Thailand.
A second AZ approved plant in ASEAN somewhere would be very logical as it appears 20 plants globally are not enough.

Same for Thais too..................................

Remind me again how many people have died in the country you come from................................

I cannot fully understand why a venue was not made available for Covid vaccination in Pattaya or nearby.
Put a Thai Navy hospital ship into the bay - or use a Military Field Hospital for something worthwhile.

By now there must be newer vaccines in the global works unless the "rich countries" have stopped bank rolling the research & development costs.

More clarity needed IMHO. Surely that lot & their close family are already fully vaccinated.

Thailand's Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin has assured the press that the policies of Thai PM Prayuth Chan-ocha and his deputy DMP Prawit Wongsuwon do not discriminate against foreigners in any way.
The way the various vaccination registration processes were designed & put into action were not inclusive of foreigners. Lets not forget many Thais of all ages have been forgotten too or at best have waited weeks now for their appointment date & time.

It is one thing not to order vaccines en masse however quite another not to have a game plan (namely registration) well thought out for mass immunisations of the entire population subsequent to the MERS & SARS outbreaks.

The mutations (of the virus) were something that could not be predicted, which have caused a more rapid spread than last year.
However the "science" of mutations was spoken of right from the beginning - it is a pity no one told the PM in strong enough terms so that vaccines could of been ordered and additional vaccine production plants built.

How long can the virus be detected or accurately tested for in a dead body?
Tests on the body fluids exiting the corpse...................one of the reasons the dead are triple wrapped before cremation.

Possibly due to Tourette's syndrome? A few others are similarly afflicted.
Tourette's syndrome is a problem with the nervous system that causes people to make sudden movements or sounds, called tics, that they can't control. For example, someone with Tourette's might blink or clear their throat over and over again. Some people may blurt out words they don't intend to say.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the PM also ordered the armed forces and police to join teams from City Hall to help carry out door to door COVID-19 testing for people located in the areas of Bangkok worst affected by the virus.
Lateral flow tests provide a quick result, using a device similar to a pregnancy test and are intended for use in those without symptoms, according to the UK NHS. PCR tests are mainly used when people have coronavirus symptoms or have already had a positive lateral flow result, and are sent to laboratories to be checked. The NHS suggests people do a lateral flow test twice a week to check if they have the virus.

Is Thailand using Lateral Flow Testing ?

Every expat living here understand the absurd hoops you need to jump through to prove income. It doesn't matter that you make 150,000 THB from say 4 different income sources (pension, government, investments etc). No no no. Only one income stream allowed or no visa for you!
Too many other tropical locations in this world are more accommodating for these types of people. Thailand isn't offering much other than a headache.
