Why is that? Maybe you can try rockin' up to the UK embassy in Bangkok for your vaccine...do they actually provide any citizen services there anymore?
Most Governments have reciprocal arrangements on a truck load of matters from Visas to Health Care.
If a Thai was charged a fee for a covid jab in the UK from the NHS then you can be sure the Thais would reciprocate with a fee too. If the jab was free then one would hope it would be free issue in Thailand.
PS. I don't expect anything from the UK Foreign Office & their Embassies & Consulates except maybe a new Passport.

The Chinese vaccines are not approved by me for sticking in my arm too (I'm too old anyway).
The problem is where would these vaccines be coming from, pretty well every production facility is sold out for months? The potential for fake / expired / faulty supplies is massive, at least the government procured stuff should be ok.
Agreed.

I don't understand the panic or sense of urgency in getting the vaccine by all these posters.
Are you in some sort of essential occupation that requires exposure to strangers or people who might have the virus?
If not, then shelter in place as you are supposed to; avoid non-essential travel outside the home; mask up when outdoors in the proximity of others; and use hand hygiene after touching surfaces that strangers have recently touched.
Do that, and you should be a very low risk of Covid. Jai yen yen for f's sake.
That is only possible if you live alone.

Private Hospitals should be allowed to import ANY vaccine approved by the WHO.
This would take the burden off the Thai State.
Any surplus can be offered to citizens of Burma, Cambodia or India currently in Thailand as expats or illegal migrants.
Note Chinese Covid vaccines are not currently approved by the WHO for their global distribution program.

He's pushing Astra Zeneca after this poison was banned in 18 countries. Why? Moderna is probably of all of these poisonous jabs, the lest harmful. Methinks that Seneor Anutin is not up to snuff.
I thought all the top bods have already had the Astra Zeneca jab.

"World Health Organization to decide whether to approve Chinese Covid-19 vaccines for global use
Giving the products from Sinovac and Sinopharm the green light could boost supplies to the world’s poorest countries
The manufacturers have yet to publish the full data from their final trials but now the vaccines will be tested against a global standard"

Maybe it stands more out in those previously desolated areas.
Exactly...............however they are very mobile visiting a lot of restaurants & many different homes in a short space of time so hopefully they operate in a way minimising the risk of transmission.

I think wearing masks in the home is a bit over the top
They should be concentrating on getting everyone vaccinated
All we seem to be reading is priority given to the Tourist areas of Thailand
They seem to get first priority over anywhere else money talks
Many people including village locals are wearing masks in the home -kids too.

Good for the UK...we're talking about Thailand.
True but if Thais get vaccinated in the UK without issue so should UK Citizens currently in Thailand.

Surely the Thais would be GIVEN a baht of gold free as well?
Now that would get the masses to drag granny screaming & kicking to the jab clinic..............WAIT maybe she is already in line.

Contacting Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai (just to cover all bases), we were informed that there is currently neither a plan nor a waiting list for "private" vaccination, next to the government's rollout plan.
I did the same and was referred to the hospital web site. On balance I would say the reception staff have yet to be properly briefed on queries regarding Covid-19 vaccination.

Everyone should note this Covid-19 pandemic is exactly that a pandemic which implies it is a PUBLIC health issue not a PERSONAL health issue. For the common good of ALL fees should not be levied across the board otherwise this virus will never be under control.
However personally I am willing to pay for any vaccine available in Thailand that is also approved by my home country national health service.

Perhaps if they provide the relevant embassies with that information then the embassies could play a part in informing their nationals of what to do and how to do it.
What is to stop an Embassy to bring in vaccine for it's Nationals and give the jabs in Consulates.............I wonder if this has already been done for Embassy staff & close relatives.

I doubt they will cancel the locally produced AstraZenica. It's more a question of whether production gets going properly or not.
They could export it to other countries in the region at cost

Tourists will not come until 70% of the general population in Thailand has been vaccinated ...... with the right vaccine which will have to come from the in country monopoly manufacturer/supplier.

Subjecting young children to mask wearing is backed by what researched, peer reviewed scientific evidence?
Children will be ripping them off their faces, and are child masks freely available?
Kids are wearing masks without issue as far as I can see

Complete and total scripting and fabrication on the back of ‘politicians breaking rules’ follows by ‘stop pestering our politicians’... some halfwit who everyone thinks is sharp figured it would be a great idea to present the PM as ‘one of us’...... Wow, even the PM is not beyond the law !! this guy is amazing, what hero he can be fined like the rest of us...
.... juvenile mindless....
And the latest set of rules highlight the juvenile and idiotic mindset - masks in private cars.
My Wife’s friend is a news reader and just told my Wife that they will have to wear a mask when reading the news !!! - just dumbflookery at its heights...
I disagree newsreaders along with all media broadcasters should be wearing face shields or masks as it sets a good example to the dumb populace - if they stop the mob will stop too.

I am okay with all your comments and observations and understand not thinking it a wise move to enter the boot of your car on entry to a Thai National Park.
The need to seal the Thai land borders is absolute - tourism can wait until all in country have been vaccinated at least twice.
Covid and the like are here to stay globally. Best to get used to it.

Before ThaiVisa forum reported names, age, nationality and contributing underlying conditions of the deceased.
Now just numbers of deaths are reported it seems.............why the change here at ThaiVisa? The info is still available via Daily Press Briefing of the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on April 23, 2021
Expats over 60 and with underlying conditions can register for free Covid vaccinations in June & July
