Mass tourism will not be coming back to Thailand this year................China will not take the risk.
Phuket will be a test case of sorts - just like allowing Songkran holidays was a try & see what happens scenario (however many did not travel like in other years).

Better get a move on then. That’s about 750,000 jabs a day starting 1st June.
Absolutely no chance.
UK is only averaging around 500,000 a day and that’s with a lot of practice and organisation.
Agreed.
I don't think the Thai Gov leaders look at what other countries are doing in detail - certainly the UK & US leaders appear not to have in the early days.

You will have to search that for yourself, but - trust me - it is being given to the 60+ group.
There ya go, easy to Google:-
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2112127/sinovac-gets-nod-for-over-60s
Thanks for the link.
Copied txt from the post "The approval came despite the World Health Organization reporting on Wednesday that an independent assessment came away with only a "low level of confidence" in the quality of evidence that the risk of serious adverse effects was low for adults above 60. The same study did, however, back Sinovac claims that two doses of the vaccine are effective in safely preventing transmission in other age groups."

I've played Bear Creek in Dallas-Fort Worth. Nice course, but it was a bit unsettling having a plane roar overhead about every 2 minutes. Had me wondering what would happen if a golf ball got sucked into a jet engine.
Did you read about a Chinese passenger in main land China tossing a coin for good luck into the jet engine on her way to the stairs to board? She was arrested and the plane was delayed for hours.

Personally, I think it's better not to trust anything until the nurse is standing over you with a needle pointed at your arm.

Thailand has reserved 61 million locally-made AstraZeneca vaccines for its main drive.
Well I hope someone has procured 61 million needles too.

Opinion: A royal intervention in the healthcare arena is a rebuke against Prayuth
The announcement in the Royal Gazette that the Chulabhorn Royal Academy can ignore and bypass the Prayuth government’s policy to centralize the procurement of the Covid-19 vaccines is not only an embarrassment to the government, but also tantamount to a pseudo power-grab, at least within the healthcare realm.
Specifically, the decree grants autonomous power to the Institute in negotiating and importing Covid-19 vaccines with the manufacturers both in Thailand and abroad. This was a right that was reserved for only the Thai government.
The announcement also said all medical equipment, drugs and vaccines imported by the academy would be considered its property for the purpose of medicine and public health and will not be liable to any kind of legal execution.

Chulabhorn Royal Academy given sweeping healthcare powers in late night announcement
Hopefully someone in Thailand is considering opening a second vaccine production facility to serve the nation & the ASEAN region as new viruses are bound to follow.

I am a bit surprised Thailand does not have golf course close to a F1 motor racing circuit.
Buriram has a MOTO GP circuit perhaps it could be upgraded.
Perhaps tag a circuit on to a golf course somewhere close to an international airport - afterall DMK has a golf course between active runways.

OMG.............no camo masks.......................deary me whatever next?

Ohhhh those leaky borders... trying to plug a hole that's been widened over the decades is not going to be easy.

Even when the current vaccines and their upgrades are readily available the porous borders will remain. Both sides of a border need to be policed to have effective control.
Illegal crossings are a way of life around the world. However more could be done and should of been done from the time the legal ports of entry were closed. Thailand has the man power and should make better use of technology to plug the holes - not to mention routine changing of the guard to minimise the risk of payoffs by the traffickers in certain areas.

Thailand has also placed orders for the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech. Authorities have so far approved the vaccines of Sinovac, AstraZenaca, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna.
Approved for use in Thailand however does that include the approval to import privately like other vaccines & medications?
Some how I think not.
Why has the Sinopharm vaccine not been approved by Thailand - WHO has approved it for global use.

I have a pink ID card, tax number, social security number and work permit.
Was told by the school this weekend we would be getting the vaccinations for everyone including foreign staff.
Thai teachers went yesterday and foreign teachers were today after spending all yesterday filling in forms.
We go today at 7 AM to the site for paper check and all the other checking we are doing, the minute we get there a Thai health official is saying why foreigners here, not for foreigners.
The Thai teacher explained to him it was agreed for us to get the vaccine as we work with the students, but he was still not enough for Thai so why foreigners get the vaccine.
He went and rang his boss who also said NO to foreigners.
After 2 hours waiting and many phone calls we all left after just sitting around and being looked on as a side show by all getting the vaccines and these were many ages not just over 60's.
They now said maybe next month or July.
So if you have registered good luck if you can get it as here not much chance.
Where is "....here....." ?
