You don't get it.  Yes we know about it now, we didn't know about it back then.

Yea I bet the USA would never do anything like that right?  meddle in other countries? heaven forbid!  all of this 'noise' is just boring old politics day in and day out. In many people's view Putin is a great leader who has dragged Russia out of the quagmire into a relevant state. Is he an angel?  of course not was Bush?  Obama? and, of course, Trump?  none are unblemished but the call to boycott the Russia elections was ignored and 77% voted for Putin. Who's to say their system is wrong but USA's is right?

i think you are mad wanting to buy a property here.

    just rent.

its a lot safer, easier, and you dont have all the nightmares associated when purchasing.

And if you ever want to sell it and get your money out of Thailand........good luck with that mate.

Not sure where you get your 'information' I have purchased , rented out and sold over 20 condos in BKK, Pattaya and Chiang Mai and your 'advice' is nonsense. I have made a consistent 8/9% RoI and, while the market HAS changed, to advise against purchasing after due diligence is just silly bar-like talk with no foundation in reality. Potential purchasers just need to research as they would in farangland. Any losses I made were purely from my own mistakes but I have made far greater gains than losses over the last decade.

No nightmares for me just sweet dreams and rake in the 8/9%. Do the Math it it takes 20 years to break even rent-for-purchase I wouldn't do it and, as things have changed, buying for rentals is more challenging now than 10 years ago. Buying to live?  if you are settled and know the location you want to live go for it.

So much for "transparency", and the First Amendment.

I can't imagine how these NDA's would hold up if tested legally? They seem to have been used as a cudgel/threat/loyalty test?

Do they include the Dr. Evil "One-Million Dollar" penalty?

They are standard practice for decades, I signed one 15 years ago and are usual for senior staff or staff working in sensitive areas. Some are trying to suggest this is something 'new' it isn't.  It simply states "you will be working on sensitive issues or client confidentiality please confirm you will not reveal these to others and if you do so you will be subject to legal penalty'.  Trying to politicize this is wrong and if you sign it you should be held accountable if you break the promise. It's a contract.

Wow! Let me guess...coming from a Republican, Trump leaning conservative direction. I take employment under a US government entity, finding out after awhile that the administration is doing something potentially illegal, immoral or fattening and you say I do not have an obligation to let the citizenry know? Ha! Fat chance. Oh, and they did me a favor hiring me? Not a mutual balanced interest? Right, great advertisemnent for why there is a need for strong unions.

I'm a Bernie, pro-choice, life-long socialist so your stereotyping fails significantly and is part of the problem. You think you have the right to make moral judgments on behalf  'of the citizenry'   when in fact you are paid a salary to do a job. If you don't like it don't do it and if you feel your 'precious ethics' are compromised grow some balls and REFUSE to sign the NDA don't sign then get all righteous!  what has happened to the US these days?

Capital punishment is a legal penalty in Thailand.

Under the Penal Code, the death sentence can be imposed as punishment for 35 crimes, including murder and drug trafficking. Thailand is one of 58 countries that sanction capital punishment.

Prisoners who receive the death sentence can appeal for a royal pardon.

Bang Kwang Central Prison houses Thailand's death row for men and execution chamber. Klong Prem Central Prison houses the female convicts who have been sentenced to death.

In 2003 Thailand adopted lethal injection as the official method of execution. The last executions were in 2009.

    (Source: Wikipedia)

Exactly - they don't do it so why impose it just another 'face' thing.

Senator Linsey Graham was called a liar on this forum over the Joint Memo he released with Senator Chuck Grassley, pointing out irregularities in the infamous FISC warrant applications. It's clear from said memo and the op that he is (as if ThaiVisa's honest posters didn't already know) a man of integrity.

    Oh is he now...  :sleepy:

Respect of the law and not following strict standards according to the FBI code of conduct(the FBI's Law) puts him in his current position ,Fired,it's not becoming of the #2 FBI guy in the USA.

Sessions went through this scrutiny by the left before, when it came to Comey being fired ."Could violating his recusal land Sessions in legal trouble? It doesn't appear so.

As Murillo pointed out in March,2017 the recusal does not appear to carry any "practical legal enforcement mechanism."Helen Klein Murillo, an editor of the Harvard Law Review".

    https://mic.com/articles/176795/did-jeff-sessions-violate-a-rule-by-participating-in-james-comey-s-firing#.zfZNDcBRN

The # 2 man in the FBI lied and leaked in one of the top investigations in USA history and it is minimized .I have thought about him loosing his pension .He should be given choices,He probably was given some when he learned of  being fired and went to DAG office. I hope he looses his pension.

“To look at removing a person, potentially, two days before they retire, the factual basis of this has got to be really, really strong for them to do that,” said Michael Rochford, a former head of the FBI’s counterintelligence section.

My OP::Respect for the law !The topic is McCabe fired, claims he is being targeted. It was suggested by the law that he be fired because he abused the law,the strict standards of the FBI.

Cutting through the noise and political bias. Did he lie or not to investigators?  if not then Appeal but I just do not believe that the FBI 'made it up' to appease Trump and if they DID it will be plain to see by all.

Blaming Trump, however ungraceful he appears on this,  is a deflection based on politics not FBI procedures which, I would think, would be squeaky clean.

IMO a good summary of the firing of McCabe and scenarios

    https://www.lawfareblog.com/what-we-know-and-dont-know-about-firing-andrew-mccabe

Well it poses as a decent look at the story and then goes on to show bias by saying the 'timing' was wrong?  the article says 'wait' then goes on to challenge timing. This guy was dismissed from the Dep  post in January and it's taken this long to find out he has lied, they say, and they cannot justify not dismissing due to his pension rights!  As I said before let him Appeal.

Whether he was right or wrong the FBI has a strict code of candor and not lying to investigators. He either lied or he did not.
