Yet another scam ripping off foreigners, which the cops are "investigating." If the shoe had been on the other foot and a foreigner had ripped off that many Thais, one suspects said farang would have been arrested already, amid much pomp and chest puffing for the cameras. I somehow doubt these folks will ever be reunited with their cash in full.

Irregularities? Doesn't he mean blatant fraud and criminal activity by the land department and the judiciary that was supposed to be keeping things honest? I would wager that it involves a lot more than just two hills too.

I'd say the chances of there being no wrongdoing are close to zero, given this involves the countries biggest gang of crooks.

TAT Introduces Tourism Plan for 2021
Given past performances, getting the details in place, reversing course on some of them, introducing new bits, then flip flopping on those as well, means the plan should be finalised by around March 2022.

On a scale of things you would have to say that Prayut and friends are a bigger problem for the country than the protests. After all, if they hadn't been doing such a terrible job, and treating their citizens like dirt, there wouldn't be any protests.

The moderator is there for a reason, to keep things orderly and fair. Playing by the rules though is not acceptable to him? Well that's hardly news, but it does show that he has to feel he is able to cheat and gain an unfair advantage before he will participate.
TBH, I think 70% of the country has heard more than enough from him already, so him chickening out is a blessing for the majority. Just a few more weeks and hopefully the whole world can start to move forward and leave the nastiness of the last 4 years behind.

Sounds like they will if given the chance.

Ah Yes! FOX News? What an excellent source of reliable and non partisan information. They have come up with more conspiracies than Breitbart.
On the topic of the Supreme Court though, I hardly think Republicans are in a position to throw stones.
Firstly, the court is supposed to be utterly impartial and above politics, but here it is getting stacked one side or the other, in itself a disgrace.
It is worse though that the precedent set four years ago of not electing judges in an election year, was immediately rescinded once the oportunity was there, despite the majority of the country disagreeing.
You want to see it stacked to the right and then moan at the suggestion, from a biased outlet, that the opposition want to level the field?
Such blatant hypocrisy can only be found amongst those who are too far gone politically to have any respectability left.

Generally a fearful person looks at a person without fear, can't understand why the person doesn't fear as they do, and because their fear is so real to them conclude that the fearless person must be crazy not to recognize their own fearful personal reality. Who's the crazy one? Everyone gets to decide for themselves. I'm secure in my opinion.
Explain Sweden.
Freedom versus fear? More like stupidity versus common sense.
It is stupidity that makes people cling to their "freedoms" even when doing so flies in the face of reason. Giving something up on a short term basis that saves lives should be obvious unless you absolutely don't care that you could be killing others, just to keep your petty non mask wearing freedom. Your argument has no merit whatsoever.
You can decide for yourself, when it is only you your decision is risking. Once your decisions become dangerous to others, it is absolutely right that the decision be taken away from you. It is the reason we take knives and lighters away from small children, who also don't know any better.

Having this "ruling" in his favour was undoubtedly very costly, and he needs to recoup some cash most likely.
You would think with a chunk of land that size, it should have been simple to ascertain precisely the ownership immediately.
Protracted affairs here obviously draw suspicion of wrongdoing, and crazy that people highlighting such can end up in the criminal system.

I recall some months back the government had been saying how they would be happy if they could keep Covid numbers to a manageable 100 or so a day. Now that they are so desperate to keep it at zero, the chances of serious tourism recovery are also around the same number. The current approach is not going to help the country in any meaningful way. Tough situation to be in for sure, but millions without work has to be worse for the country as a whole, than a few catching the virus along the way.

I wonder if Prayut could live on that?
I am very much hoping that one day someone else will seize power, kick this guy out and strip him of his ill gotten gains and see how he does indeed get by on such a miserable pittance.

I have worked in China on several occasions for three different firms, one International, two Chinese.
I would not go back there for all the tea India has to offer.
Dishonesty and manipulation just seems enshrined in them, so randomly arresting people to put pressure on other Governments would not surprise me one bit.
Their activities in, and rejection of an independent adjudication regarding the South China Sea show their duplicity and determination to dominate.
They cannot be trusted and leaving town if you aren't super confident could well be a smart move for expats if they get upset further.

A person of reasonable intelligence, could be forgiven for assuming that he obviously had the virus here. This clearly though ruins the perfect lie that Thailand is clean, safe and virus free, for those desperate to come here on holiday. Anyone realistically expecting face losing admission from the Thais that they have been less than honest though? Or expect that they will find anyone else here he associated with, who has it too?

Anti corruption panel in Thailand is obviously a joke. Lets be honest, if they had any intention of doing the job honestly and properly, they would be making thousands of arrests daily. Within a year government departments would be empty and the jails overflowing. They will investigate those who don't follow the puppet masters call, and ignore the nation being fleeced by its public servants who follow the protocol and keep sending illicit gains upwards.

There is a terrible rift in society right now, with everyone generally decrying what the other side suggests without ever stopping to analyse things first.
The depth of fear of the other side gaining power, or retaining it is illogical. You have all lived through periods when your team was not running things and while you might not have been happy, it wasn't the apocalypse then, nor will it be in the future.
What is needed is for the two sides to stop their distrust and mudslinging at the opposition and work together to find solutions.
This incident should present an opportunity to try to do what is right for ALL of the citizens it is effecting, not just ones supporters.
A unified approach is the only way this is going to improve, though tough to see that happening unfortunately. Everyone is too firmly in their trenches.
Tough to see how Trump can visit without the full support and genuine welcome of the local powers, and still expect to come away with a positive outcome.

You should be aware by now that these so-called protests carry with them violent antifa and anarchists that have been known to attack and injure and kill.
Give me a reliable link to back that up please. Not from a conspiracy site though, eh? Wouldn't want to embarrass yourself further.

Not mentioning he was carrying an illegal weapon, after curfew or that the appropriate authorities have deemed it fair to charge him with extremely serious charges though are you? Skateboard against someone pointing a rifle at you and you want to think the poor SOB didn't at least try to fight for his life, and when he did, hold that against him?
And you call me a fool? Always nice of course, to see those with a sad argument stooping to attack the poster, rather than having the cognitive powers to address a sound logical argument.
Keep on sucking in those juicy theories from the twisted minds that seem to dominate right wing fallacies these days and you can keep writing rubbish for eternity.
Please try and post something intelligent once though, eh? Might need to turn off the smoke alarms in the house first though.

Verbal assault – this is a type of non-physical, oral assault that results in an emotional, mental, and/or psychological injury to the victim, rather than a physical bodily injury. - Ref: www.attorneys.com
It depends upon where one (or the court/judge) draws the line between obnoxiousness and verbal assault, doesn't it? If one feels threatened, I call that verbal assault that could (and often does) escalate to physical assault. Read about the various types of assault HERE (www.attorneys.com}.
Really? Desperate huh? So now think "free speech" which gives the people the right to tell their leaders what they think.
Verbal assault? That's so pathetic and hysterically insane.
You are supposed to need tough people to run a country, not a bunch of girls blouses, who collapse and moan at the first sign of an unhappy customer.
How about real assault, where people take guns to threaten legitimate protesters. Don't have a problem with that huh?
Sure you will be singing a different tune first time a republican gets shot by a loony on the left.
No problem though. Your posts give the majority here a damn good laugh.

You didn't seem to quite so vociferous when the rightist mob were out with guns recently and where people were killed as a result. You should either decry all violence, regardless of which side it came from, or just admit to being a tunnel visioned, right wing conspiracy fueled hypocrite.
I note here mind, that there was no actual violence, though you wouldn't think that was the case the way your mob are baying. Rand Paul was mobbed, not battered.

Calls for Thais to work factory jobs previously done by absent migrants
