I have been trying to puzzle out Thai logic since I got here many years ago, but as this truly amazing chunk of what seems sheer stupidity proves, I am no closer now than I was on day one.

It's hysterical. It took 12 officers to arrest one guy, who they then villainise as much as possible. Hate to point out their incompetence, but the fact he had been in broad daylight, even appearing on the TV shows all 12 probably watched at some point, for years before they caught up with him, kind of proves the point.

to ensure the project lives up to its name and ‘safe and sealed’.
So they effectively want to safely seal tourists into a hotel? And they think large numbers of people will agree to this?
Maybe they should take the time to ask prospective tourists overseas what they think of this idiocy, at which point it should be back to the drawing board.

"It starts at Pattaya High-speed Rail Station."
If you needed any evidence that this is all a pipe dream, I believe you have it right there.

"I got hairy legs that turn blonde in the sun. The kids used to come up and reach in the pool & rub my leg down so it was straight & watch the hair come back up again. So I learned about roaches, I learned about kids jumping on my lap..." (extract from the infamous Corn-pop speech Dec'19)
Sorry, but this does not bode well for his ability to end chaos when he can not even complete a thought.
I would say that they are both a pair of rambling, incoherent old dodderers who both struggle to put meaningful sentences together. The only difference between the two of them is about 20,000 lies.

Does anyone in these ministries have a brain? Travel bubble no good, so we will replace it with a "twinning Country" system, which is essentially the same thing, but because it has a different name, all will apparently be well?

I see the Covid emergency decree excuse being extended and lots of additional youth detention centers in the planning.
At some point though the bubble for Prayut and friends is going to burst.

Sadly true, though I have always believed that the intelligent man will search for the fair and balanced perspective, while the fool will only read that which echoes their ideology, regardless of how far from the truth it is. It is after all, tough to respect the tunnel vision view of someone who can't be bothered to check out if they are spouting garbage.

If I see something I'm not sure about I'll look it up on the internet, as I just did to disprove a poster's contention that Pence was in the primary for president.
I rarely claim to post facts, and if you read my posts you will see a lot of IMO on them. We all have opinions and are allowed to post them on TVF, whether or not we have qualifications in political science.
You also said: Not that it's any of your business, but I don't watch tv or read newspapers, and local radio does not provide news about USA politics.
If you are, as you say, so genuinely uninformed, you can hardly be surprised when people point out to you that your opinion is, well, uninformed.
Facts are a different matter of course, but as you say yourself, you rarely utilise them.
Belittling the opinion of those who have done their homework and are informed, is why you find yourself getting shredded by so many posters.

Possibly just a Freudian slip, where the mouth comes out with what the brain is really thinking of.
I had it once, ordering a ticket at the train station to Tooting, and the girl had a lovely pair of knockers and I asked for a ticket to Titting.
Told my mate about about it who told me he had had one that morning too. Meant to say to the wife at breakfast, "please can you pass the milk."
Actually came out with, "You miserable <deleted> shrew! You have ruined my entire life!"

I always enjoy reading the drivel this fool comes out with as I like a good laugh from time to time. People who are unable to work out that he is continuously spouting lies about how he would like things to be, and how he thinks his supporters want it to be, rather than reality, must be completely blinkered.

Very few could be called "Nation Haters and he knows it. What he is really trying to say is don't try and stop us stealing everything from you that we can, or get upset about it, because we will screw you over if you try to change it..

LOL! A number sure to be questioned by Donald. Can't have anyone more popular than him can we?
Obama has the right of it though. Trumps performance has been miserable, a fact anyone with a functioning brain, not corrupted by tinted glasses can easily see.

Just now, Berkshire said:Trump knows his supporters. They'll go through a wall for him and he'll gladly let them.
They can't! He hasn't even secured the funding for it, let alone built the bloody thing.

If I recall my history correctly, it was a widespread outbreak in the US Army that was the major precursor of the Spanish flu of 1918.
Lightning couldn't strike twice though surely?

Clearly very few active brain cells between the lot of them. I personally thought the Phoenix that sank off Phuket and killed more tourists in one hit than Covid has managed here was a serious low point. With the restrictions they are talking about, they will be lucky to see thousands a week coming in, let alone the hundreds of thousands tourism needs. They need to build up other areas of the economy, because tourism will not generate 20% of GDP ever again.

When are we gonna apologise to Anutin?
Hmmmm! Never sounds about right. The man is an idiot and a racist idiot to boot. Changed his tune more often than the direction of the wind, but stuck with the racist comments throughout.

And to further prove their stupidity we can sit back and wait for them to write another piece in a few months when they are scratching their heads wondering why the foreigners simply haven't returned.

8 minutes ago, BobBKK said:Then WHY link it to Trump rally? that's clearly NOT true too
I read it quite simply as highlighting the background of the area of the proposed rally having an infection issue. For most it is a heads up call if it is wise to attend. The story covered similar issues in other parts of the country also so no problem there either.
When you read every story looking for somewhere to find political slant, you will always find it if you look hard enough.
Nowhere am I seeing any suggestion that they are linked, or that Trump is to blame, coming from anywhere other than from Trump supporters defending the suggestions, which says quite a lot in itself.

Why not try googling "Death Island" without even being country specific and see what comes up?
