Dr. Supachi, Big Smile Dental clinic (http://www.bigsmile-chiangmai.com/) is great.
+1. He has been my dentist since he was still in his tiny place on Niman Soi 1.

Hi all
I am on my second one, the last being a MK809III android 4.2 bought on eBay , but the wifi connection is impossibly slow, even after modding it by getting the wifi antenna out ... So I hardly use it, as streaming is very bad.
Are the ones you are using ok for wifi ?
Phil
The one I have is fine, but there is a strong wifi signal in the room. You might want to try a HDMI cable as an extension and move the TV stick from behind the TV to onto the TV cabinet. You might get an extra bar of wifi signal and fix your problem.
Thanks, I have done that already, on internet many people are complaining about the wifi speed with this stick, it is barely 5 meters from the router, no wall and the wifi signal is strong, only the speed is s**t... Unusable. Maybe I've got a lemon, or a bad copy...
I'll probably buy the Rikomagic...

They are on Trip Advisor, some people have left negative reviews, but I have always found the food there authentic and very good.
I don't pay too much attention to Trip Advisor. There are too many fake reviews. Between owners praising their own restaurant and competitors trashing it, it is hard to know what to believe.
Neither do I , and I agree with you, but it gives a rough idea of the quality of the place, and also shows the location. I admit I haven't been there for a while now.

I usually take my guests ( visiting family or friends ) to Hong Tauw Inn, on Nimanhemin, opposite of the old Rincome Hotel.

Being on Niman, parking may be a problem.

What I would like to know is where did you find a Nutritionist in Chiang Mai?

You can buy an internet radio device?
You can indeed.I bought this one on eBay, works very well within range of my wifi router.
But I also use the Tunein app on my smartphone, free and works just as well...

We were there tonight, plain food, friendly owner, excellent diner ( the bolognese fresh pasta was indeed very nice ), and reasonable price. We will return ...

I think I don't like Chrome. Is there a better browser that I should try?
Bottom line, this is an amazing phone. My only real complaint so far is that I have not found a way to turn on my phone ringer and my email and text message alerts so they are easy to hear in noisy environments. Any ideas?
After one week I am still glad I bought this phone too... No lag whatsoever, and I yet have to see it hang. Battery life is enough to last through the day. I don't feel like putting a brick to my ear when I answer the phone, people said that when the Dell Streak ( which I owned too, 5 inches only...) came out, now it is the norm...
I do like Chrome, and its ability to sync on your account for bookmarks, but I read a lot of good about Dolphin, which I have never tried...
On Google Play, there are lots of sound boosters which may help you hear your phone ringing, not tried these either...

I got a free case with mine! How do I install the updates?
Only freebie with mine was a film...
Install Sony PC Companion ( a bit like iTunes for iPhone, or Kies for Samsung's) on your PC, connect through USB, if any update detected, you can click, et voila...
You can also try Over The Air, by going in your phone to Settings/About phone/Check for update.
How do you like the phone so far ? Must be quite a change from your old Motorola...

Today I think I got that glitch where the screen stays black. Pushed the power button ten times or so and it finally came on. Weird. I figured that would be straightened out in these phones by now but maybe not. Anyone else have this happen?
Although I had read about this screen problem before purchasing it, it did not happen to me since I bought the phone. But there has been an update ( built14.1.B.0.475 ) that was probably meant to fix that , and another update should arrive soon ( 510 ) with a few more features...
I have ordered a flip case from eBay, as I still cannot find one anywhere. Docking charger and bluetooth handset still not here either..

OK I broke down and bought it today. The sheer amount of real estate on this screen is unbelievable. Wow. The quality of the picture is stunning. So far it seems very sleek and fast and fun. No drawbacks that I can see yet. It is SO much easier to use a touch screen keyboard on this compared to sub-5 inch screens if you have fat fingers or are a little bit motor-skill challenged. Mistakes are almost non-existent for me on this phone. I love that.
Did you find the purple version ?

Thanks for the info, both of you! Pilou, what does the DK30 cost? Also, how long have you had it and what are you impressions? I am thinking about this and the Galaxy Note 3 when it comes out. The Sony has no stylus built in, correct?
The DK30 is around 1800 bahts on eBay, but I'll wait it's available here, which hopefully won't be too long from now.
I just have the Z ultra for 3 days, and I love it, really fast and sleek, and the screen is really nice. Camera just so-so, no flash, but it's OK as I don't take many pictures with my phone anyway. I bought the white version, it is also available in black and purple , although the latter was not available in the shop I bought my phone . There has been an update to the software already, probably to correct the problem of dead screen that some customers had been experiencing lately.
It is truly big, but that's why I chose it.There is no stylus with it, but you can actually use any pencil or metallic tip to "write" on it, and it's working pretty well ( many videos on Youtube )
The battery life seems OK so far, especially if you activate the Stamina Mode, which switches OFF wifi when the screen is off.
I also have a Galaxy Note 8, which has a S Pen, good device too, but I much prefer the Sony. My last phone was ( I still have it ) an Asus Padfone, which you can insert in a docking tablet , and this tablet in a keyboard, brilliant device as well, but more difficult to lug around, and even with the help of the tablet battery, it was running quickly out of juice...

I switched a couple of weeks ago and I'm running at much higher speeds (usually about 3 Mbs here in Pattaya).
+ 1 ( in Chiang Mai )

Bought mine in Chiang Mai on 22nd. they are everywhere here now, so I guess Bangkok must have them too.
I paid 21990 bahts for it, really nice phone, but indeed a bit difficult to carry around. I am waiting for the bluetooth set SBH52, not announced yet. Magnetic charging dock ( DK30 ) is also on my shopping list.

Ah - hang on -- no camera apart from the front-facing webcam That's a big mistake by Asus
I believe the Padfone version sold in Thailand has a 3 Mpixel camera.

I saw one ( Samsung ) a while ago at Powerbuy- Airport Plaza. I bought one on ebay, funny but does not cope very well with furniture and carpets...

I have the Padfone ( 1st gen ), though not really a Transformer, I am very happy with it, it has replaced my phone, my tablet and my netbook. It has still not been updated to JB, it now runs on 4.0.4. Asus has promised a quick update....
When connected to the keyboard dock, all my USB and hard drives are recognized, I also have found a USB-Ethernet adaptor that works perfectly...
I would go for the Padfone 2, but Asus has not planned a keyboard for it...

Just got mine yesterday, with the keyboard, I just love it, it will replace my phone, tablet and net book. I will leave all them home on my next trip to France to see if it does the job.
Brilliant device.
Just to confirm...you bought it in Thailand? Mind mentioning the price paid? Thanks.
Yes, I bought it in Chiang Mai, at Airport Plaza Chi Chang shop. I had to order it from Bangkok as they did not have the keyboard. The set for phone+station+stylus ( that comes in one package )is 24900 bahts, while the whole set including the keyboard is 29900 bahts. Not specially cheap, but it does replace phone and tablet and netbook. Came with a free 8Gb micro sd card, but i bought 2 x 32 gb, one for the phone ( which comes with 16 Gb internal, the 32 gb is not available here ) and one for the keyboard dock.
As all the batteries ( station and dock ) are recharging the phone, the battery life is quite good.
Admittedly, it is not cheap, but I have been waiting since it was announced many months ago, the new version is coming soon ( but when will it arrive in Thailand ? ) and has of course better specs.
After one week, I must say that I do not regret my money. Everything is working fine, hard disks and USB flash drives recognized and accessible from the 2 USB ports. It is a bit heavy and bulky ( my previous tablet was a Samsung Galaxy Tab 1st gen. ) when all parts are assembled but still manageable...

You might try CD Green on Sukkasem Rd, a kilometer or so past Lanna Hospital and the Lanna Polytechnic. They've got some decent imported name brand stuff there and prices seem reasonable by local standards.

+1 for new stuff, mostly Marantz and Mordaunt-Short
Size matters: Phones as big as they can get for easy use

To each his own... I like large phones, I bought the 5" Dell Streak a few years ago, and now own the excellent 6.4" Sony Xperia Z Ultra. Ok, it can be a bit bulky, but I've used it for 1 1/2 years now, and I still would not go back to a smaller size. Actually waiting the Z4 Ultra.
